Not sure if this has been brought up already, but I was wondering if anyone has some conflicting achievements?  The first time around I did the Circle Tower, I let Irving die and got the "Sided with the Templars" achievement.  Well then I found out that Alistair got all pissy, so I went to a previous save and this time saved Irving and sided with the mages and got that achievement.  Well now I have both achievements!  Do I get a special prize or anything? :P

Why? I use the (story) achievements as a reminder of what i have done and what i have not done. After all, they are completely worthless otherwise, unlike in Mass Effect.

Meh, I like em. They are fun, if totally unecessary.

The achievements guide you into playing as much of the game as possible. If it wasn't for achievements, I would never have touched the other origins, and found the best origin ever (casteless dwarf). I would just create a new human noble and min max due to being brainwashed by WoW.

You know, at least this game HAS conflicting achievements that require more than one playthrough (or strategic reloads I suppose).

Unlike Oblivion where the entire game was set up around getting achievements (yaiknow) and it was entirely possible and in fact ridiciously easy to become a ninja paladin thief archmage warrior knight head of all guilds. Because clearly achievement bragging makes the game!

Not to mention some achievements dont make sense at all (eg. Poacher, I fought Zathrian, made him free the werewolves of the curse and it says that I sided with the elves). I gave the werewolves what they wanted & I'm a poacher?

Wait, you think it's unreasonable to be a Knight of the Nine, Listener of the Black Hand, and the heads of the Fighters, Thieves, and Mages guilds? Not to mention becomming a god, all without anyone ever writing down your name.

Pshh, your aspirations are simply too low my friend!:wizard:
I demand an answer right now from Bioware as to why I couldn't become both the King of Ferelden and the Dwarves and the Archdeamon in one playthough!

Getting conflicting achievements gets you no extra anything, but if you like achievements (and I do) I think it's amusing that they have them in there.

My problem is that I can't get the achievements to unlock. Picked every lock in the game, zilch. Completed over 20 job board quests, nada. Disabled every single trap, nothing. Passed every persuasion check, no effect.

Anybody else have this happen?

There is for 10 persuasions, ten intimidations, 10/1 traps and 25/50 lockpicks I think.
