So I did 2 Gold runs VS Geth. One with the GI and Reegar, another one GI with GPS.

G.I. with Reegar X and Distruptor rounds 3 + Adrenaline mod 3 - 126k and died several times in hairy situations.
G.I. with GPS X and Disruptor rounds 3 + no mods - 158k and died just once. Felt easier and less chaotic too.

You were probably playing better with a weapon you are more familiar with.  This speaks nothing of the actual capabilities of the weapons in question.

Better tell that to the OP since one of his points was that there's no skill whatsoever to its use.

I'm much more familiar with Claymore X And it wasn't the difference of the guns. It was the map. Both were on Goddess. Everytime you're in the open with Reegar you are in danger. And everytime you fail to down an enemy coming out of cloak in 1 mag results in an OH SHI.. situation.

You failed to kill an enemy with that weapon with a 115 % increase to damage? Im really not sure what to say about that.

Mmmmhh... after watching the video and seeing you toast a guardian with less than half a clip with only the charge bonus to damage, I may agree that it needs at least being as heavy as a Claymore, a smaller clip and no armor penetration even with mod.

That would make it a pretty good balanced weapon and still tons of fun. I would still use it with my male Quarian Infiltrator, pretty similarly to my Human Claymore Infiltrator :)

Yay, just unlocked it. Time for some testing...

What are the approved (overpowered) mods to put on?

Shredder and Damage Barrel.

The gun fires really fast which means it has issues with armour if you don't use some form of AP.

Because the Reegar fails to kill a Pyro who dodged sometimes, or hunter. It certainly doesn't kill a Prime. He kills me instead.

With GPS X I can shoot across the map and not even lose cloak. Never see me coming.

It's like watching someone play a point and click adventure game where the only puzzle is "use gun on man."

So just like the GPS ?

No, that would be point, hold mouse button, and release

So trying Reegar I on my justicar, with a Phalanx IX as backup. Id like to think of myself as a solid player, only tried to solo bronze a few times and crashed in wave 8-10 usually.

Hydra / Reapers / Bronze - it rapes. When things are in range... I joined wave 5 or 6? And ended second.
Jade / Geth / Silver - very good. Lots of tight places helps, phalanx over the open bits. I filpped and flopped on the score list, but ended third at extraction with only a couple of thousand separating top three.
FBW / Geth / Gold (naturally, I was doing ?/?/G) - good, but as the team was farming, it was a static game. This shows how poor the range is, you can't hit something out the door if you're hiding in cover in the left L-desk (opposite the door), and yes pyros have longer range than you (Reegar I, maybe X has more range?). We bombed round 6 disable x4, as a vanguard just had to keep firing off, and I stupidly tied to save him, given I had the uber gun etc... We had no infiltrator and it went downhill from there...  Was second on score.

Overall I don't think it needs brutal nerfing by any means. The weight is limiting to cooldowns given you almost have to take a backup gun. The total ammo is small, the clips are small. The range is pathetic. It does seem a little too good against bosses (atlas, primes and banshees) as these are somewhat static, so is actually better than against trooper level in some ways.

Yes if you take an optimal build it will be better, but on a normal class who might take a shotgun instead, I'm not seeing this brokenness. I'd go with limiting anti-armour mods, as this would make it worse against bosses, but against troopers, given the limitations, who cares. I wouldn't run this on my infiltrator, as the claymore would just be better / more versatile.

I will say its a fun gun:  different to most, and for that it's commendable.  I like the striker too (bronze/silver) as that's also a fun gun.  Inefficient, but makes you smile as you kill.  Please don't nerf the fun out of the Reegar.

But hey, I'm just a N7 180, s my opinion is fairy worthless...

Until/unless the Reegar can oust the GPS as the most over-used weapon in the game I don't see why anyone's complaining, true the GPS is OP but unless they plan to nerf that too, then leave the Reegar alone.

It has a fairly small clip and beleive me it isn't that great by itself normally. He speced his infi to do max weapon damage and used all the best mods and equipment he could just to make the reeger look VERY overpowered.  I mean it is good but you only have like 2 feet of range and NO accuracy. It really only works with certain builds/characters or as a last chance/swan's song weapon on the aquishies. I do love it on my Batarian soldier though. But he is made for shotguns and snipers, so I use the indra and reeger. As well as my explosive BB and inferno grenades.

Dunno if anyone has said this yet but I place it on my GI and I can destroy a gold Atlas from full shields in less than a clip with the carbine.

Sounds epic!  But yeah I don't really think adding weight would be the way to go.  It doesn't need to be as heavy as the Claymore.

One thing it does need is to not get to fire during power animations.  Maybe something about the shield multiplier or its ability to penetrate.   But that's probably it.

I'd like to see it retain it's shield Multiplier but make it complete trash against Armor. A speciliziation weapon that is really good at one thing but horrible at another.

you guys do know that bw has no idea how to balance weapons out, and every single good thing they've changed was nerfed into oblivion, right?

if the reegar gets changed, it will end up being useless for a long, long time.

So the QI,Falcon, and paladin are all useless?

Didn't the carn get nerfed at some point too?

And everyone would oppose those stupid changes.  I'm sorry if this isn't what you mean to imply, but I just can't stand the philosophy that people should pretend things are perfect because we expect an irrational reaction from the guys in charge if we don't.  It's like talking about THOUGHT CRIMES.

The Carnifex and Paladin got bumped in weight from 1 to 1.25.  The Falcon, Kishok, and the QI--twice now!--are the worst offenders in terms of Bioware taking away what made them unique.  I still like the Falcon, though I think they hurt it a little too much.

no, you goon. my point is that if you think the weapon needs to be changed, we need to clearly outline intelligent changes  to the weapon to make it BALANCED (as opposed to USELESS) instead of everyone just crying about it.
