Ever since the demo people have been complaining about the poor GUI scaling. In short, the user interface was designed for a 720p resolution. It doesn't scale properly which means at higher resolutions the subtitles and conversation wheel are too small.

After I read the recent patch notes and saw this issue was not adressed I contacted Chris Priestly who said this is not high on their prioroty list because it's not really a bug (it's a design flaw). I then contacted EA support who told me to post on this forum.

Here are a couple of screenshots.

While this is not too small to read, it's not very comfortable either. This is only 1080p, just take a look at the user interface on really high resolutions: www.youtube.com/watch

I really hope BioWare fixes this in the next patch. In the meantime, if someone knows of a config tweak to fix this, please let me know.

This is true and one of the many issues the game has, but it also is, understandably, quite low priority. Sadly many issues the game has, way more players and other developers deem vastly more important aren't getting fixed either. Bioware unfortunatley does not communicate much outside of mainstream game news media and on the other hand mainstream game news media usually goes easy on topics which simply require more in depth knowledge usually only true gamers or developers have so aside from some hyped topics the important issues never catch enough wind and are not addressed (lack of outcry/ public force to put pressure on Bioware to force a reaction) or even continuosly ignored.

It's a shame but that's how most studios seem to operate nowadays, which is in part to blame on media, the sub-standard console development causes and us customers of course.

I'm very disappointed of the "quality" Bioware delivered with ME3. I will not buy their products again.

I had a discussion with EA who said the devs will read the feedback on this forum. However, the devs rarely visit the tech support forums and even if they did read this, I know they won't fix it because the Mass Effect team doesn't care about optimizing their games to run properly on a PC (Demiurge should have handled this port). I think it's up for the modding community but I'm not sure if there are mods to upscale the GUI elements.
