Chris, I imagine that if you have absolutely no announcement of the extended cut dlc at E3, and the DLC isn't released quite soon after, then the fans will be angry again. I, however, am honestly still a loyal fan, but even I was hoping for some sort of announcement. Even just a teaser. Besides, I'm not convinced that the Extended Cut DLC will just be cinematics like a lot of people believe. If it was, it wouldn't take almost an entire three months since it's first announcement just to make it. The first GAMEPLAY DLC for Mass Effect 2 was announced and released within that time frame. Who does BioWare think they're fooling? LOL. No offense. I love BioWare. I'm just saying.

I'm personally extremely curious if Bioware has any plans for future games being released at E3. Or maybe some news for that Retake Omega DLC we all know is coming.

I'd personally love to hear some news about DA3 or a brand spanking new and original RPG.

EDIT: Also, Beaver has a point. Better to keep us in the loop than just
push us away. But, that's just what I'd do if I was standing on, at
best, shaky ground with my fan basis.

Yes, everybody thought that Dragon Age 2 was an epic fail, but aside from Anders, I thought it was a rather amazing game. In its own right, anyway. Sure, it didn't stack up to Origins/Awakening, but I still thought it was good. I'd love a preview of DA3, and ESPECIALLY the Omega DLC.

Perhaps a little update with Dragon Age 3. It would be a nice change of pace at least.

Absolutely right! Despite BioWare's previously amazing reputation with pleasing their fans, they have never refused to keep their fan base in the loop until now. They are already on shaky ground. Yes, I was troubled by the ending, but that was just because it wasn't what was promised. If they had promised what was delivered, I'd be alright. Afterall, the ending wasn't bad by typical standards, but it just wasn't three possible out of sixteen supposed endings like we were led to expect. Everyone knew that *SPOILER* Shepard could, and might die at the end, but they didn't answer any questions about the reapers (that made any sense), or about the child, or anything else terribly relevant. The last twenty minutes of the game weren't affected by our import decisions. Not at all.

Nicely done, you lock my thread, amongst others, and manage to answer the question nobody was actually asking.

We all already know EC won't be mentioned.  Most people just want to know if ANYTHING ME-related is being discussed.

You can keep all the lawyers and EA folks happy and not actually give details, just a simple "Yes, ME universe will be mentioned" or "No, it won't.".

I don't see that as being difficult, or outside of anything you'd be allowed to do.

Telling people to waste time surfing E3 videos just in case they see something relevant?  Not cool.  Either I have an actual reason to watch your panel (ME universe discussed in some way), or I have no reason (Won't say if ME is discussed, only focusing on DA, etcetera).

Here's hoping for some announcement of BW's next big series!! That would be much better than ME stuff, EC or otherwise.

Oh, come now.  Do you really trust Bioware with a brand new IP?  They can't even properly work with the ones they have now.

If they made a new IP, they'd just Amalur themselves.

?  About a new IP?

It's true.  Bioware can't even properly handle their existing IPs.  Look how badly they've blown it with Mass Effect.  From what I gather, DA3 is going to be a complete bust, too.

If they tried to make a brand new IP on this one, it'd go the way of Kingdoms of Amalur.  Which is to say, very badly.

With the state Bioware is in right now, introducing a new IP would be suicide.  People who don't trust Bioware currently, were still willing to shell out money for ME3, even though there was a lack of trust from DA2.

Why?  The franchise drew them in.  They might have been mad at the dev, but the IP called them.

A new IP would have no emotional attachment from players, they'd have no reason to get drawn into it, and it would have to stand entirely on people trusting Bioware to not deliver garbage.

Nobody would touch it, it's sales would be poor, and in the long run, would do a lot of damage to Bioware.

Now, if DA2 had lived up to what people wanted, and ME3 was actually good, and lived up to what people wanted?  Bioware would still have all their goodwill, and introducing a new IP would be a good idea.

You don't bring in a new franchise when your company is being looked at as a liar/purveyor of broken/bad products.  You do so when your last few games (in existing properties) have all sold well, performed well, reviewed well, and been received well by customers.

Bio's last couple have not.

I'd bet there's a strong chance that ME3 will be released for the new Nintendo console, the Wii-U. If there are any new ME announcements (highly unlikely in my opinion, but you never know) they'd almost certainly be shown at the Nintendo conference.

But no company is going to go all the way to E3 and set up a presentation simply to show off a new DLC that 1, has already been announced; 2, would be comprised entirely of spoilery footage; and 3, draws attention to the fact that they let down a large number of their fanbase with the endings.

E3 isn't where you show off DLCs. Its for Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and the major publishers to wave their collective egos in front of the media.

I suppose there is a possibility of Generals 2 being shown off. But thats hopefully a PC-only game (I normally play Xbox, but RTSs are just better on the PC) so won't be shown at any of the developer conferences. In fact I'm rather hoping there is some Generals 2 stuff - the original is one of my favourite games.

I understand you point. Yes a lot of people have lost trust in bioware yet they still have those who are loyal I'm sure it doesnt balance those who are upset with Bioware. Also DA3 must be great have a little faith brothers and sisters lol

I'm interested to see C&C: Generals 2 and maybe some info on DA3 (pretty please). I'm disappointed there won't be an announcement for Extended Cut.

I would not be surprised if C&C Generals 2 gets cancelled. EA cannot be happy with Bioware right now.

At the E3 conference coming up in about an hour I expect Bioware to barely be mentioned, and when they are mentioned I expect them to be quickly glossed over and minimized.

As long as Bioware are there and have any announcements I'll be happy, hopefully something console-based though.

Expect Bioware's mention at the EA conference to be along the lines of "-with the major success of Mass Effect 3, having sold -- copies and -- hours of multiplayer played worldwide, Bioware continues to be a trailblazing studio blah blah blah-"

And the launch of The Old Republic which sold some copies and has a player... somewhere... expect big things from Bioware in the year ahead.

Yep, that's pretty much how it's going to go.

Interest in this game is going to have severely waned by the time they get this EC out.

If it actually takes - as some are guessing - until the end of the summer that will be a 6 month wait for something that doesn't even contain gameplay. I dunno, maybe they can still hit this out of the park but if I were a betting man.........

In other news, it has been confirmed EA's Dead Space 3 will contain 3rd person cover shooter mechanics, universal ammo, and gun fights with unitologists, so much for survival horror.  And another game gets remade to try to be like Gears.
