so here, let me show you something:

Posted Image

I was able to add all the extra head stuff such as hat, beret, beanie and all to the shoulder slot because I wanted my shep to have hat + visor, cuz I tought it'd look awesome.

in the first picture that's what the hat looks like if you add it to the shoulder slot, in the second picture you see how the hat looks like in the ordinary head slot.

as you can see shep's hair show through the hat in some spot if I add the hat to the shoulder slot, wich does not happen in the head slot.

pics 3 and four are an example of what I wanted my shep to look like, obviously without the hair parts showing through the hat.
I tried adding bHideHair=True but that didn't really change anything, any help ?

thank you in advance

I think it's all a matter of hiding the hair, it's just that bHideHair=true doesn't seem to do the trick, what am I doing wrong ?

I guess because it's in the shoulder slot it doesn't recognize that command to hide the hair. I mean, why should it - it's the shoulder slot. Have you tested the other hats (the beret, beanie, etc.) in the shoulder slot and saw if it could hide the hair? Also test with FemShep just in case. I know i have all the hats in my visor slot with bhidehair=true and it's working fine.  :P

I'm thinking an option would be to be to put the visor in the shoulder slot?

every hat put in the shoulder slot does show part of the hair.
I've tried putting the visors in the shoulder slot but for some reason, some show up and some only show the name of the visor but it actually is a shoulder piece, same thing for the legs slot: it gives me the visor name but shows a leg piece..

hum, that's rather sad: only visors that look like crap with a hat are actually showing in the shoulder slot, those that would actually look great just have their name, but they actually display a shoulder piece.. why why why ? :(

Had the same issue in ME2 some times. Shoulder slot won't execute the "hidehair" command.
It won't work this way.
So I guess the only way is to make your Shep bald. According to his face, this wouldn't make things worse... Its not like he could become even less pretty.

EDIT: theres a modding thread in this section. I'd suggest you use this next time.

I know about the modding thread, I've posted this in there twice but I had no answer whatsoever so I decided to make this a single thread.

Thanks for your reply, I'll try making my shep bald, but don't you DARE saying he's not good looking! :P He may not look like a dutch model, but that's the price you pay for years of close contacts with reapers and mindf*cking devices, plus I support indoctrination theory and the fact he's all the time struggling within to keep his free will, so somehow I think the face fits. :P

so hum, here's a question: how do I make him bald ? I think I have to edit the mesh code in the gibbed save editor under appearence/headmorph but I wasn't able to find out wich is the code for no hair.. any suggestion ?

I don't know. Figure out. Create a new character thats bald. Use SE to check the code. Then copy it to your characters savedata. Thats how it worked for ME2. Never used Gibbeds for ME3, so therers no proof this'll work.
And you might as well copy all the other face codes too. No matter what you say, he IS ugly as hell. How da fuq are you able to play such a Shepard O.O

de gustibus non disputandum est :P I've given you my fair explaination, I doubt if there would ever be a real war hero who's seen and experienced what shepard has he'd look like an hollywood model..

Damn I never thought of that, I'm an idiot..
well I've taken your advice and I've started a new bald shepard then took the mesh code from there just to realize the mesh name was... "none" -_-' anyway it worked and now I can finally combine hats and visors. here's a couple of screenshot of my "Captain Earth"

Hey there, dont mean to Necro the thread! Was wondering how you managed to get the hat + visor? I've looked through some Coalesced threads, nothing of this sort.

Cheers

Yarnu The easiest way is to install the Mother Of All Mods

Use the 2.7 files and manually dump them into your ME3 folders. It includes a Coalesced file with all the extras already in there.

Cheers for the swift reply, had time to mess around with the Coaolesced modding tool and managed to change a shoulder slot to a Visor. Amazing how well it works. Check out this. Very cool.
