I'd have to agree about the (IMHO) excessive bloodspatter.

But I suppose it's since it's something they had to include to attract a certain type of game players (there, was that politically correct enough?) and the rest of us can simply turn it off, it's hardly a major problem.

The blood is a little over the top, as others have mentioned. I saw the Human Noble masterbit theatre pieces from IGN the other day and had to lol when the PC and his companion killed giant rats and were awash in blood like they had spent the day murdering hogs.

I also don't like how the DLC buying process is shaping up. I don't think the whole NPC DLC thing is locked down yet, but I would much prefer a dowload menu on the startup screen.

I would also like a time machine so it can be Nov 3 already :D

The reason bioware didn't voice the main character is a very good one and people who whine about it really annoy me.

Mass Effect was setup that you were "watching" or third person to the action. Kind of like a playable movie. Having the main character voiced adds to this and doesn't detract from the experience.

Dragon Age however is setup to feel like YOU are the main character. You are not just guiding conversations you are having them. (AKA Mass effect you would have like 2 branches in a conversation, but it appears in Dragon Age you can have up to 6 or 7 branches at each stage of the conversation). Voicing ME detracts from the whole idea that the main character is an extension of yourself.

So far nothing is jumpping out at me as a real irritation. I'm not worried about the gore, or bow strings. Elves origens don't bother me, nither does day one DLC or no multiplayer.

1. I wouldn't mind a few more origins (another human one, and another mage one)

2. Inventory looks a little iffy, but manageable.

3. The fact that I probably can't run it on my computer and would be forced to play on xbox, bleh.

4. Don't really care for Zevran or Leliana.

5. Would have liked to see some small party multiplayer.

6. No kind of spear or polearm weapon

7. Slight lack of hairstyles, and a good blonde hair color.

Still gonna love the game, though!

A distinct lack of polearms causes some consternation. I also read that weapon and armor appearances will be somewhat underwhelming and I can understand to an extent why but I do enjoy seeing exotic and interesting designs...hopefully the mod community will whip something up.

I don't like the arbirtrary party member limit. What, I can only take four characters along for a run when it would make tactical sense to take everyone along? This is foolishness!

Probably no jumping or swimming. My ADHD is gonna have a fit.
Also multiplayer didn't Baulders gate have this?

The combat running animation. It astounds me how bad it is.

I'm a tad bit worried about the difficulty level, but I think I can get by.

Loading screens are still at the back of my mind though...

The thing that really bothers me (and I think I'm the only one haha) is the approval system. I know it's realistic and all, but I don't like the idea I can't do what I want if I want to have the members I like at my party, and have they liking me.

Well, I just hope it doesn't turn into a mini-game of 'keeping your friends happy' at the expense of playing the character/party you want. The Sims is fun and all, but I'd rather play Dragon Age.

Without an approval system, members of your party become extensions of your main character, doing anything you wish. You might as well have a conversation with your foot, and train it to do some new combat moves. :P That what you do has an effect on the party members is a good way to make your actions count for more than xp and loot gathering (and furthering the plot). Now, peer pressure will give you pause.

I think the idea is interesting, realistic and all, but I liked the paragon/renegade system more, and the way Mass Effect dealt with it; characters reacted to your opinions just at the Normandy, and at some quests; like Garrus when he found that doctor, where your choices led to a change in his point of view; and there I could have any party I wanted without worries and without feeling the companions were a part of me (but you may have misunderstood me, or him).
Probably I'm complaining about an improvement in the NPC's personality, but I'm just afraid I will be limited by their needs (it's realistic as well, I know) and will feel obliged to do something I don't want to (I know I can just let them be angry, but I didn't want to).
But it won't keep me from buying the game, or course, it's the only point (that I can remember) that I didn't like, the game in general amazes me.
Ah, and thanks for the reply (it wasn't directly for me, but was talking about the same thing)

It lacks YOUR MOM.

I keed, I keed.

I'm not happy with the inventory. That's about it. Any other displeasure will have to wait until I play the game. GAH. Too far!

That there's no human commoner origin... oh and the manson trailer(s?). Hate that guy.

And I suspect that you'll only be able to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel. If that is true, it'll annoy me, since I don't have one, and I haven't yet found a left-handed trackball that does.

You can just use a mouse for more comfort and precision anyway.

Overall i think the end product will be quite the hit but ofcourse there are always a few things that you dared to wish for or expected and never got, for me these were in no particular order:

No bowstrings on bows

No spears/ halberds/ pikes/ lances/ ect

No horse/ mount combat/ riding

No voice acting for the PC

No weight/ height or muscular diffrence in NPC's and the PC (excluding diffrent races)

Not as open worlded as i had hoped

No jump or added complexability for jumping over objects that get in the way

Im sure there are a few more but thats the general jist, i understand alot of these are hard to implement into a game i suppose i just held out hope we had reached that point in gaming technology where we could advance more but thats something that will have to be waited for abit longer.

Pushing all that aside i see this game as being more of storydriven RPG rather than action based, much like Fallout 3 which was and still is a terrific game and im still looking forward to playing DA as much as i ever did.

The small problem is the lack of the PC being fully voiced.

There were two things that struck me so far..

1. The skills/spells are a linear progression. I find it more interesting when they are a branching progression. Gives one more interesting decisions to make.

2. I was disappointed there was not an alternative origin to being a mage. I am not super fond of what struck me as a Jordan-esque Mage Circle story. Cool for NPCs and such but not what I would pick for myself. That is driving me toward a warrior as my main.

hadn't realized the PC was not fully voiced, but I don' t think thats a big deal. After I have selected my text option I don't want to wait around to hear my guy speak what I just read....

 1. Annoying taunts when in combat. In one video I heard Alistair yell "dead yet?" as an orge was pounding him in the face, it really made me cringe.

2. No bowstrings. Yeah, I'm one of those guys. The first modder to make bowstrings will win my everlasting love.<3

3. Silly helmets/hats. Every piece of headgear that I've seen sofar save for one looks rediculous.

4. Female character models look a little off. I can't quite put my finger on it but they look strange somehow.

5. Blood fountains. I hope there's an option to turn gore down - not off mind you.

All small nitpicks, I'm very excited for the game overall.
