Had an all out scorewhorewar with my nemesis. Anyone ever played with a player named n7_Jutsu ?
I only ran into him about 4 times before but he always acted like the most hardcore scorewhore I've ever seen, especially if someone is close to his score, god forbid it's higer. In my 3 years of ME3 MP gaming, I think he's the biggest SW I've seen yet. Maybe not as the most blatant SW perfomance in a single match, but considering all the matches I've played with him, yeah most def.
So I ran into him as he was hosting a plat lobby, he was a GI with Valkyrie. The game started and no surprises, SWman is here. Ignoring missions when that suited him, constantly and only going after targets that interested him as in "I'll make more points if I kill those guys" regardless of any of us needing help with some of them, ignoring fallen teammates if they were more that 2 ft away, the works.... Basically focusing solely on how much he could score, leaving any other factor at the door. I still tried to beat him with a strong Tsent Arc Pistol, but the aggro from 2 INF + prime targeting on Hydra proved too much. I have to hand it to him, he's really good and he knows how to score points very efficiently.
That got me a bit fired up so I decided to teach him a lesson. There's also that my ego was a bit bruised after all my encounters with him.
Took my Reegar TGI, he switched to Saber, landed on White/Cerberus and I managed to outscore him but man that was close, less than 15k iirc.
He got the message and switched to Typhoon, I'm pretty sure he was doing the assault rifle mastery. Got Vancouver/Geth and the battle began, he turned into even more of a scorewhore, leaving the upload circle to do his thing. Knowing that he was already way ahead of me, I followed his lead and went on a rampage. When the upload was about half done, I felt so ashamed that I came back to the circle and waited with gigantic frustration as I wasn't able to reach any ennemy with my reegar. He had a 35k advantage by the beginning of wave 4.... He basically kept his advantage until wave 8 where for some reason the gap got drastically reduced to 10K.
We battled it out in the final waves, my stim packs and adrenaline allowed me get the upper hand. I even managed to rob him of his cherished and expected "beginning of wave 11 kill-streak" that I knew he was going for.
That steal + the fact I was leading totally threw him off. He panicked, frantically trying to close the gap with more rockets but he kept getting killed instead. He finally ran out of rage-gels 22 secs and far from extraction. We all went to help him and I got to do the heroic revive because hey, that's the right thing to do....
After that I wanted to leave to complete some challenge on gold, but I see he's now switched to Talon, possibly ignoring his assault rifle challenge and basically going all out and saying "bring it on b***". But I had enough , and depending on the map, I knew his GI Talon was going to be problematic to say the least, so I just said "thanks for the games!" and left like a thief.
So yeah I turned into a real scorwhore for two matches, should I feel bad about it ? Yes, absolutely, I feel dirty actually, and sorry for the 2 poor guys who had to witness this sad, sad show (one of them didn't seem to notice at all, he was actually pretty happy about the games we had ! ). But, I really had to do it and I guess it's not that bad...right ? I'm not gonna lie, it felt kinda good to outscore my scorewhore nemesis, hope I'll see him again some day. Now that I think about it, maybe I've turned him into even more of a scorewhore...
