It's one of the things that I've never understood.
The weight is ridiculous, the accuracy is awful and it's practically useless on anything longer than medium range. It's damage is awesome, yes, but it's not worth sacrificing everything else for While the Widow, for example, is heavy and highly damaging - and has a single shot magazine like the Claymore - it's much more accurate and a long range weapon, making it the better choice.
It's also a very high-risk, high-reward weapon. So it's a little bit useless for me. I prefer medium risk, medium reward.
Well, I for one am with you. I love the Claymore on my QFI, (thanks, whichever BSNer it was that kicked some serious ass with that build in a game with me, which got me to try it out) but other than that, not so much. On any other character, I'd take the Wraith, Raider, or Crusader over the Claymore on a weapons class, or the Disciple on some vanguards/Shadow. I just don't like being in close quarters and only having a single shot before the Bomber stunlocks me to prevent reloading.

How did I miss this load of dren? In the Fleet we'd call Treason on this sort of language. The heathen must be set straight!
Weight? Lolcooldown. I mean I guess it's a concern on adepts or whatever, but literally no quarian cares about that shіt because we're not soft lesser race babbies. 2 have cloak, 1's a soldier and the other 2 care about cooldowns the least of pretty much any of the engineers not called Talon.
Accuracy awful? Sounds like L2P. The thing can take humanoid heads clean off out to mid long range with just the smart choke (nevermind other accuracy boosts) with proper aim, and has no issues vs any boss. Also, there's an easy cure to any potential Shotgun accuracy issue; run up and shove it down the baddie's throat (like you should be doing with every single other type of weapon anyway).
Its damage is awesome. At least you've gotten one thing rite, heretic.
Comparing it to Widow? Well, that's another awesome weapon that produces loud booms and glorious melon chunks, but Claymoar is more versatile and a lot more damaging. You don't need Phasics or Disruptors to OHK, and the range of humanoid targets you can OHK is higher. Sustained DPS is quite a lot higher (like 50% higher). Widow does have greater range against humanoids, but who cares about that when like all weapons it works best if you are close enough you can use the muzzle to go for the optics. Again, both fantastic weapons and in my top 5, but they're different, and if one's more superior in more circumstances on more characters it's definitely the High Lord.
High Risk-High Reward? You say that like it's some kind of bad thing. I usually needn't bother leaving my ship. Orbital bombardment of primitive, less advanced races is such an easy solution to most of life's problems. But when some toaster or space Nazi bastards make that necessary, they need to see the soup. They need to feel the fear as I shove a booming handheld cannon in their face. They need to know that they done goofed, and their world is about to come to a violent, messy end. Close range is a quarian's place on the battlefield. Look no further than the maximum range of a Reegar Carbine if you don't understand where and how the true quarian fights. If you ain't gettin soup ruptures, you ain't trying hard enough.
By contrast, you wanna know who fights at range? This guy
and this thing
you wanna be a wussbag toaster or a nerdy turian? If not, stop hiding like a coward. Get in the damn battle, grab a shotgun, get dat soup dirty and show the krogan how it's done. Admiral's orders.
Tl;dr CLAYMOAR
Oh, I confess that I revere the High Lord Claymoar. There, topical, see?
Mission_Scrubbed, TheShadyEngineer, Darth Volus et 4 autres aiment ceci
I confess that I don't like the Wraith. It feels like a slow, puny, weak, stupid sounding Claymore. It's like some sort of blasphemous joke at the expense of the High Lord.
My love of the Claymoar is similar to my taste in cars, if it doesn't sound like the world is coming to an end, it isn't big enough.
The Claymore is a weapon which only has one advantage - its damage. Everything else about it is ****. And that isn't enough to warrant its use, imo. Nor is it enough to warrant all the love it gets. The Lancer is, by far, the superior weapon in every respect other than damage, making it the superior weapon overall. My logic is irrefutable.

By the time you kill one Atlas with the Lancer, I will kill 2 and be at the end of finishing a third. I can 1 shot Ravagers, and 2 shot Brutes (so they can't pummel me into a corner on a Glacier map for example) I can instantly wreck Scions. One shot to the chest will put down any mook. If a Cerberus turret looks at me I can kill it in 1 shot instead of emptying a whole mag.
If you stay mobile and reload cancel like a baws - Claymore is amazing. And if I pop a Thermal pack - God help you, because nothing else can.
Proof that anger is a weakness, if ever there was one.
Bro you'll learn. Anger is not a weakness nor any other emotion for that matter. The weakness comes from not being able to control your chit when you know it's a bad decision.
Emotions help us get out of our comfort zone and take risks.
Good thing the board still has a steady stream of new people to tell all the veterans how to l2p, otherwise I'd still be a clueless dummy speccing into signature powers so bad they only show up on a single kit and topping boards with garbage guns like claymore and wraith

If you don't agree that Claymoar > Wraith, nothing can save you, Heretic.
Nope. Claymore over Lancer on the QFI. The lancer goes on the QFE, or pretty much anything that's not an infiltrator

You have a different Claymore than I do. Or you are playing silver. On gold, with SG amp III, without cloak a turret takes 2 shots. Ravager needs minimum of one shot in cloak and one out. Brutes at least three, with two of them in cloak.

... sounds like Silver.
Ah, there we go. Reload cancelling. Try it without it. Won't be half as good. I don't even have to reload... you know, unless I'm playing on the PS3. Nor do I have to visit any ammo box ever, or use any thermal clip packs. Just saying.

Veterans! Hahaha please tell me you're not serious.
I'm a total heretic for not liking the Claymore or the Wraith... to be fair, I like the Crusader (best shotgun in the game), I don't mind the Disciple and I can handle the Piranha on a few kits, but other than that I dislike every other shotgun.

I play only Gold and Platinum. I don't even remember the last time I played Silver. And I don't have to "try" Claymore without RC. Why would I?
With N7 Lancer you need to vent regularly, and thermal clips are there to use, because I have everything maxed out and I mostly buy Jumbo Packs, so I always have 255 of them anyway.
