I know you're not supposed to use powers on flying Praetorians, but I seem to be an expert at firing a power like Incinerate at a standing Praetorian, only to have it take off a moment later and I end up tripping its bubble.

I was once outscored by an N7 Fury with a friggin' sniper rifle. Surely that can't be right?
At least you can actually get that far. When the small terrorist group brings back someone from the dead and rebuilds the most advanced ship in the galaxy better than two combined militaries did it, there is just too much bullshit for me to deal with.
Try viewing it as a Fan Story. A Mass Effect-like game. Set in basically the same universe, but with certain... liberties taken. Which explains the Sherpard BS (Fan stories usually have some ridiculous BS at the start to explain why X Character is in Y position that isn't really in-character for them), you could also just pretend it isn't Shepard. ME2 is the superior Gameplay experience of the Single Player series, even if the story is a little... absurd.
It's a shame that so many people get hooked up on that BS, because it really one of the best games ever made. I understand the complaint, and I don't mean it invalidate it, I just wish people could find a way past it to experience the game for the gem it is.

I sometimes activate the bubble on purpose so I can try for a weapon kill on it. ![]()
Confession: I don't bother going in to revive pugs anymore unless the thing that killed them was a trooper or something. I've been grabbed by praetorians, phantoms and banshees too many times while attempting revives. Never again.

well that doesnt bother me; i would have played the game even if the bleeding tooth fairy revived him/her! But that planet scan it just kills it for me; couple of weeks i finished my me1 run (doing all the achievments again since i redeemed my code from steam here (Origin) in spring, pitty one cant buy me3 on steam - rant over) so i imported my me1 charachter and started another me2 run. Got Garrus and Mordin, upgraded my shite a bit, but to upgrade more of it ofc i need recources! and this is where it all stopped i cba with planet scan...
game over

The first run-through of ME2 is always the harded. Second run starts you with 200k credits, and 50k of each resource. That is essentially enough Eezo to max out all relevent techs (another 72k or so is required to use the Dominate bug/exploit, which is totally not worth it), and most essential ship-based upgrades to survive Suicide Mission. With the help of Shadow Broker (or the Internet), planet scanning lasts like less than an hour to obtain pretty much all upgrades.
Sure, it's a boring hour, and wasn't really necessary, but it's only one small part of the game. I think the real problem with this comes from people scanning the wrong planets the first time around, and wasted so much time on it that just the memory of it is a chore. It takes up less time than ME3's blahblah on every hub after every single mission.
I'll take ME2's Planet Scan/mining over ME3s babbling any day. MP is ME3s only redeeming feature.

Sometime later I played with some pugs, went in to revive one, got sync-killed by a phantom.
I am both a liar and an idiot.

One time, one of my teammates was incapacitated and apparently spectating me. He happened to go down next to some low cover. I went to his corpse and proceeded to get in and out of cover. I was teabagging his corpse, obviously, but when he protested, I claimed to have been trying to revive him.
I was ****** lying, of course.

Next time, try and revive them so they get killed by the Phantom. PUGs are only there for amusement purposes. You need to use them to their full capacity. Lock them in the reactor, revive them into sync kills. It's what they are designed for.

The reactor is tempting. I've resisted so far, but one more set of incompetent pugs and I'm just going for it.

Nah, Sheogorath is the real MVP. Tell me, is there anything more glorious than a mad immortal who likes to skip rope with the entrails of his enemies, ride narwhales and drink babies tears? Not to mention being a connoisseur of fine cheese!

Sanguine's quest is pretty funny too and the daedric staffs they give are pretty nifty also. Well, Sanguine's is, the Wabbajack is more of a trololol weapon but that's to be expected from the daedric prince of madness. Still enjoyed goofing around with it tho.

I dunno, I'm a fan of how straightforward Molag Bal's quest is. Just kill a guy, track someone down, kill him too, get a sweet-ass mace.
OT: Earlier with Collectors on Condor, there was a scorewhoring pug (nuking spawns all over the place, cheesing it up with the Reegar) whom I just knew was about to get picked up by a praetorian. I stood back and watched it happen instead of whipping out my missile launcher, which I realistically would have had time to do since I saw it coming a mile away. Watching him die for his crimes was satisfying.

I've never gotten rekt by a scion.
I did, however, get grabbed by a brute today for the first time since last summer!

Really never? I've been pretty much violated by all sub-bosses/bosses/mooks/friends/pugs/EA servers down through the years. I'm a shell of a person now.
