I've been playing since Thursday and noticed joining a random game takes twice as long to connect. Also, when I host a game I have to wait several minutes before 1 person joins. Before the patch, people would join in waves or instantly after I create the lobby. Anyone noticed this or are there less players on PS3 since the DLC and patch?
I used to create a private lobby first in case any of my friends want to play. Then I would open it to public and it took anywhere between 1-5 minutes before someone joined. I always assumed the private lobby timed out from EA and needed to refresh on a server list. When no one would join, I would force the game and people join my game in progress.
Since the patch, no one joins my U/U/S games so I back out and search for one. I join a game only to see people play specific maps and enemies over and over (like FBW farming, except this was Jade/Geth/Silver). So I created a lobby last night and waited 5-10 minutes. one guy joined the lobby, then a 3rd person joined and quit 3 times in a row. Not sure what he wanted but he obviously didn't like U/U/S. Lol. So maybe I was the only one hosting a silver lobby? We're talking 1AM PST today.

It's just the new matchmaking-system introduced by the new patch. Now you get connected with people who have the same N7-level, that's the reason why it takes some time to fill a game (depending on your N7-level). But Bioware already mentioned that they discuss if it should be rolled back

No wonder. I was actually tired of playing with bronze level players and out scoring two team mates with 100k xp average. But now I can't even get a full game =/
Major trade off for me.

Yeah, the new matchmaking is awful and makes trying to host a game a major pain in the ass because it takes forever to get a full room.

Finding gold matches is really hard now. I can only play so many silvers or bronz.

It's not worth playing mp if I don't have teammates. Been trying to play since Thursday and I can't get anyone to join my lobby unless I wait 10 minutes or more. It's not a matter of firewall either because I have NAT 1. Patch 1.04 made it unplayable for me. Onto the next game until it's fixed...

It's nearly impossible to find matches in gold now. Also I've been thrown in bronze matches while searching for gold matches. I don't want to sound negative (or do I?), but this new system isn't working out.

Bioware said that it will change the matchmaking back to how it was... dunno when. One would think this is serverside code so it doesn't need client patching.

Where did they say that? I only saw they were discussing the possibility of changing it back.

With matchmaking broken as it is now, do they have any other option?

Hey guy, what's going on in this thread? I just thought I'd drop in and say hi while I continue to wait for the multiplayer lobby I'm in to fill up. I get bored after sitting in a room by myself with no one to talk to after 20 minutes.

Still waiting... Had an N7 22 come in the room for about 3 minutes before he got bored (or realized he was in a gold lobby). I thought this was weird since I'm N7 1075. Wasn't the new matchmaking system designed to avoid this?

Just got kicked from the Mass Effect 3 server after over an hour of waiting for a lobby to fill... I get it, this is BioWare's plan to promote purchasing packs with real money and/or extending the life of multiplayer by not actually letting us play. Genius.
