Jessica Biel or Rhona Mitra would make perfect Femsheps because they're both muscular and look like they legitimately can fight.

Oh yeah :D

Some heroic choices from an apparantly known hero.
I've seen Jessica Biel. She's good. Really good. Haven't seen anything with Rhona Mitra though.

I'm going to give Mass Effect 2 and 3 characters a shot. I'm sorry folks, I tried very hard to find a Thane and a Kasumi, but it was nigh impossible.

The Illusive Man = Robert Downey Jr. (Seems an odd choice, but he's got the good looks, the voice and the ability to play The Illusive Man extremely well) - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000375/
Miranda Lawson = Hayley Atwell - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2017943/
Jacob Taylor = Djimon Hounsou - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005023/
Kai Leng = Hiroyuki Sanada - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0760796/

Urdnot Grunt = Dwayne Johnson - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0425005/
Harbinger = James Earl Jones - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000469/
Javik = David Harewood (watch Blood Diamond, you'll see) - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0362873/

Ziyi Zhang is a fantastic actress and would have no problem kicking some butt and doing the whole space ninja routine. She would carry the Kasumi Goto lines very well.

However it would be nice to have a Japanese person playing a Japanese character for a change. That was a big dissapointment when I watched Memoirs of a Gesha.

What about Richard Dean Anderson? He is still alive? He'd be amazing for Admiral Hackett.

Besides in the last season of Stargate SG1 didn't he get a promotion to an office leadership position?
He kept complaining that he wasn't on the field anymore if I gather. But he was still amazing in that position.

I included pictures for lesser-known actors, also only worried about humans as aliens would likely just be CGI anyway.

Jeff "Joker" Moreau - James Roday - persephonemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/james-roday-psych.jpg
Commander Shepard - Sam Worthington - imstars.aufeminin.com/stars/fan/sam-worthington/sam-worthington-20090921-536846.jpg
Kaidan Alenko - Carlos Bernard - greenobles.com/data_images/carlos-bernard/carlos-bernard-01.jpg
Ashley Williams - Angie Harmon - www.celebs101.com/gallery/Angie_Harmon/322838/Angie_Harmonjpg_460.jpg
James Vega - Vin Diesel
Jacob Taylor - Larenz Tate - images.zap2it.com/images/celeb-1746/larenz-tate-1.jpg
Miranda Lawson - Kate Beckinsale (honestly wouldn't be bad, she's good in the Underworld series)
Captain Bailey - Denis Leary - wpc.556e.edgecastcdn.net/80556E/img.site/PHpFyrGeKCvAtr_1_m.jpg

Captain Anderson - Dennis Haysbert (tried to go with another deep, recognizable voice)
Donnel Udina - Gregory Itzin - download-watch-mentalist.edogo.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/gregoryitzin.jpg
Admiral Hackett  - James Morrison -  www.24spoilers.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/James-Morrison-Bill-Buchanan.jpg
Illusive Man - Hugh Laurie

And yes, I totally realize I picked like 4 different 24 actors.

Dudeshep since that’s who it’ll be, plus I find it harder to think of a perfect female lead.

Jeff "Joker" Moreau:  Joel McHale
Dr Chakwas: Helen Mirren
Shepard: Hugh Jackman
Kaidan Alenko: Josh Duhamel
Ashley Williams: Michelle Rodriguez
Liara T'Soni: I kind of want to say Drew Barrymore, but I’m not sure…
Garrus Vakarian: (Voiced by) Robert Downey Jr. (obviously)
Udnot Wrex: (Voiced by) Ving Rhames
Tali Zorah: Ellen Page?

Captain Anderson: Denzel
Donnel Udina: Alan Rickman
Saren: (Voiced by) Bruce Willis

Captain "Hold the line" Kirrahe: David Schwimmer

I would totally go see this.

Wow that was a **** list... A bunch of actors that couldn't care less about the me universe portraying their own cliché/type casting roles. **** me. I'm gonna stay away from this fan creation zone, ****ing stupid opinions floating around here...

lol...ditto.

Glad to see that I'm not the only person with enough movie smarts to recognize such blatantly poor casting choices.

My list with the actors and movies they already starred in:

Jeff "Joker" Moreau – Jake Gyllenhaal (Zodiac,
Donnie Darko)
Dr. Chakwas – Helen Mirren (The Queen, The Last Station)
Comander Shepard
  • Male – Gerard Butler (300, Law
Abiding Citizen) or Matt Damon (Bourne trilogy, The Departed)
  • Female – Julia Stiles (Bourne
    trilogy, Dexter)
Kaidan Alenko – Goran Višnjić (ER, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo)

Ashley Williams – Jessica Alba (Sin City, The Eye)

Liara T'Soni – Ellen Pompeo (Grey's Anatomy, Catch Me If You Can) or Julia
Dietze (Iron Sky)

Garrus Vakarian – Matthew Perry (Friends, 17 Again) or Robert Downey Jr.

Udnot Wrex – George Clooney? (don't know what his krogan voice would sound like
XD

Tali-Zorah – Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element, The Fourth Kind)

Captain Anderson – Denzel Washington (The Taking of Pelham 123, The Book of Eli)

Donnel Udina – John Malkovich (Dangerous Liaisons, Red)

Saren – Hugo Weaving (Matrix trilogy, V for Vendetta)

Matriarch Benezia – wanted to put Uma Thurman, but saw somebody else wrote it,
so Lisa Kudrow (Analyze This, P.S. I Love You)

Captain "Hold the line" Kirrahe – Jesse Eisenberg (The Social
Network, Rio) or Ben Stiller (Zoolander, Meet the Parents) (but I think the
first choice is better)

Illusive Man – Charlie Sheen (made to look older)

Jack – Rooney Mara (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The
Social Network)

I don't know as many actors as other people in this thread, obviously, as I have had to look up many of the names used by others. I will try to stay away from names that have been used frequently by others even though I think some of them are great choices (Like Robert Downy Jr.). I will also assume that Turian/Salarian/Krogan characters will be CGI characters that do not have to resemble their voice actor. So, using strictly the actors I know, here would be my list.

Jeff "Joker" Moreau - Chris Evans
Dr Chakwas - Joan Allen (Pamela Landys from the Bourne Trilogy)
Comander Shepard (Femshep... Always preferred female protagonists) - Jessica Biel
Kaidan Alenko - Chris Pine
Ashley Williams - Olivia Wilde
Liara T'Soni - Piper Perabo
Garrus Vakarian - Brad Pitt
Udnot Wrex - Michael Ironside
Tali Zorah - Reshma Shetty (Diviya from Royal Pains)

Captain Anderson - Laurence Fishburne
Donnel Udina - Eric Roberts
Asari Councillor - Rebecca Romijn
Salarian Councillor - Wallace Shawn (Vicinni from The Princess Bride)
Turian Councillor - Paul Bettany

Saren - Hugo Weaving
Soverign - Ving Rhames
Matriarch Benezia - Mariska Hargitay (Detective Benson from Law & Order: SVU)
Captain "Hold the line" Kirrahe - David Cross
Admiral Hackett - Sam Elliot

And I'm adding one more character:

Nihlus - Mickey Rourke

Honestly I think Mass Effect might be better off being CGI. At least then you can keep the original cast and won't need to spill money on getting anyone who probably hasn't even acknowledged the existence of the ME Universe.

I'd love to see a high quality CGI movie, but I don't think this would even make a dent in the box office, no matter how good it is. For a non-live action movie to be main-stream succesful, it has to contain the words 'Shrek', 'Pixar' or have some trippy wise-cracking animal. Yeah, there are a couple of outliers, but do you really think ME is strong enough to appeal to everyone, not just gamers and sci-fi nerds? I think a CGI ME would go the way of Final Fantasy (the Spirit Within) unfortunately.

Yeah but there's no guarantee that anyone that anyone here on BSN listed as movie cast even know jack abut the franchise. I'd rather have a semi-successful CGI movie from the brilliant mind behind it (Drew Karpshyn, not Mac Walters who you know... ME3 Ending... :P) than a half-assed success with people who couldn't care less about the franchise and are only in it to line their own pockets...
