I'd be more for adding weight to this shotgun then nerfing the damage capability because it is a rare arc shotgun so nay for people screaming for nerfs

I don't see why everyone needs to have a fighting chance at gold.
I can't beat rank 12s on Company of Heroes, but I don't say things like "make the units more equal, everything should be able to counter everything else" or "it's not fair that the Allies get awesome off map artillery, it should be weaker!"

I just accept that I've reached my skill ceiling and I'm just not going to be capable of progressing any further without a lot of practice.

Gold weapons don't need to be nerfed otherwise it destroy the purpose of them being gold weapons why would I waste the time of getting spectre packs if it isn't better stuff then in veteran or recruit packs seriously mysterious I think you lose this one

I think you have little awarness and don't realize how bad your arguement is.
Your Arguement:

"I don't want gold weapons to be useless"
"So let's make non gold weapons useless"

My arguement
"Gold weapons should be about equal but focus more on unique gameplay and intresting gun dynamics rather than point and shoot"

And I believe a rare weapon should have more power or damage then other weapons that are not in the rare or above category

And that make sense, because Geth Riffle is as good as Reegar.

You're trolling. Rarity doesn't mean much for bioware. Find another reason.

Nerfing gold or ultra rare weapons to me is about nerfing the gun because you personally don't like it I will not support the idea of limiting or destroying decent or great weapons within the rare or ultra rare category

You're being unreasonable. You just don't want to lose your god-like weapon and you're pissed because you realised its something very likely to happen.

BioWare nerfed Rare weapons before, even BioWare dissagrees with you.

People asking for nerfs are being reasonable. Overpowered things can ruin a game, because everybody will be using it and this is a team game, the team choices matter to me to. I can't just stop using that weapon, because the lobbys are already filled with it.

The drop-rate is not a excuse to make something unbalanced.

Do you actually have any level of an argument for not nerfing this other than "it's rare"?

Lol just saying nerfing rare or ultra rare weapons at max just is plain out silly why the hell would I ever want to use a rare weapon if it sucks or doesn't do any real decent damage like the variety of non rare weapons U-u?

A nerf doesn't make a weapon suck 100% of the time.

Though the Reegar doesn't need much of a nerf, considering what the Claymore or GPS can already do. Maybe just make it as heavy as the GPS.

Yeah...

If you're going to make it as heavy as the GPS, why not just make it a reskinned GPS?

It's not a GPS or Claymore. It's a lighter weapon, with high damage but a small clip and a "stream" fire rate. If you're running up on someone and it runs out of ammunition before that someone is dead--you are boned.

Unless you're a vangaurd,Infilly, Human soldier, Krogan, sentinel, or care to use an ammo pack.

The gun does have it's downsides no doubt. But they do not jusitify it's all around pwnge. IMO we should reduce it's armor damage and range a little. Maybe even reduce it's base health damage and make it an effective anti shield/barrier weapon as i think it should be.

You know why the new gear slot was added so that you can add upgrades to make your character stronger or have a better chance on gold

wat

did you quote the wrong post i can't even see how these 2 are related?

The new gear slot is totally insignifigant and irrelevant to this discussion

3% more tech damage?!? NOW MY QUARIAN ENGINEER WON'T SUCK!!!!

To all the nerf whiners out there: shut the **** up. I have a Reegar Carbine I and it demolishes everything on Gold. The point of a game? FUN. Want a challenge? Go use your ****ing Shruiken SMG.

I want fun and challenge.

If you just want fun go play bronze.

Or you could use a different weapon.

Or you could play on a difficulty that fits your skill level?

The weapon you use isn't an indicator of your skill.

Sometimes people just want to have fun on Gold, so they grab a strong weapon so they can faceroll it. If they want to test their skill it's as easy as grabbing another weapon.

So you can grab another weapon. It's not up to Bioware to change the game just because you don't feel capable of changing the situation yourself.

Here's the flaw with your arguement.
Gold was not meant to be there "Just for fun" it's a challenge level and without added challenge there's no point to it's exsistence. If you want to faceroll go play bronze. If i want to test my skill and build it should be with preferred weapon. Not one that makes no sense and has bad synergy as that is silly.

So you can play another difficulty and remain as OP as ever. It's not up to Bioware to make the game easymode just because you don't feel capabaple of taking on gold without a OP weapon.

I have no problem with Gold, regardless of build or weapon, and it isn't worth my time to try to prove that to you.

And also, I don't understand your logic. You say you want to test your skill with a preferred weapon. If you're referring to the Reegar, you prefer an overpowered weapon (probably because it's overpowered), and you really have no reason to be commenting in this thread. And you definitely have no reason to be commenting on the skill of others, lol.

Either way, there are plenty of other GOOD shotguns you can use instead of the Reegar. And no matter how you try to twist the logic around it, the final fact of the matter is that picking another gun will ALWAYS provide better results than whining to Bioware.

shields only

There's already shields only guns in the game, and no competent players touches them except for gimmick builds. The gun shoots plasma, case closed. The particle rifle will be as strong in its own way when it is released, and it should be as strong. There's finally a usuable shotgun that's not one of the four+ wraith available for gold, and all strong players do is complain. Well, don't use it. Problem fixed. Infiltrators are easy mode, so I don't play them, or I respecc them not to use tac cloak. Problem fixed, and I didn't have to whine to BW to do it, I did it myself.

Let's take some of the excess weight from the crusader, which does about the same damage as a carnifex X, has slightly less capacity with similar accuracy and fire rate, but weighs more than the carnifex PLUS the Paladin and give that to the the reegar.

Or buff the crusaders damage levels, but this is the wrong thread for that.

A weight increase would be the absolutey most deadly nerf to this gun. Atleast for me.

If they do that i'm going to have more threads on it than we have how OP the reegar is.

Still this gold rare arc shotgun does not need to be nerfed otherwise make it a common weapon

Otherwise add more weight the people ****ing for nerfs are the ones who can't use a class or weapon effectively so that they want it nerfed I'm sorry it is a arc shotgun that is rare it does not need to be nerfed if your at the bottom of the leaderboards then get your game up

I'd bet your ass wether you're using the raegar or not I'll still outscore or be near your score with my krogan vanguard at any time

It would kind of ruin it for the Kroguard, which it answered my questions of which shotgun I should use on it to get good power without sacrificing massive amounts of cooldown(I was using my Wraith before).

Another idea I saw was that they could reduce the clip size to 11. It would allow you to burst down the light infantry really fast still, but it would require multiple reloads to kill a heavy with it.

I'm sorry but it needs a nerf. If it was an ultra rare then it would be fine, but as a rare it's just ridiculous.

Mostly because it functions nothing like a GPS. I could have easily just said "Put it at the 2.0-1.4 weight range" since a lot of guns are in that range right now, and they aren't all GPS rekins.

The point, which I guess I should have done a better job elaborating, is that the GPS is a high weight/damage weapon but can be used to hit things both close range and long range.

You're not shafted by taking a GPS at this moment, nor are you necessarily shafted by taking a Claymore which can do fairly long range shots as well provided you aim.

The Reegar is short range, with a cone firing arc. If the Reegar had its range extended or had an alternate fire mode where it could fire a single "bolt" which does decent damage on impact at a longer ranged target--I'd be okay with a bit of a weight increase.
Not to the point where I'm seeing a number below 140%, but maybe 155-165% tops.

it is a gold rare arc shotgun it needs no nerfs other then increased weight

And I'd be willing to prove my point that my score will either outscore or be near any person using this shotgun on gold or silver against the geth

With my krogan vanguard ^_^

Ever stop and think i might like the weapon because of how it feels and synergizes with my class choice rather than it being OP? and maybe a nerf to the gun dosen't mean it will become completley useless? Rather it will just no longer be the best option for every class and won't make all other CQC guns terrible in comparison?

and if the skill of others is effecting the balance choices the devs make for the game i think i have every right to comment on it.

How many good lightweight shotguns are there?

The only ones i can get 200% recharge with are evisc, katana, and scimitar with my current  manifest. There's a high level wraith, but i'm never getting that.

I love how nearly everyone who is arguing against nerfing it in this thread is using some bull**** strawman argument along the lines of "you only want to nerf it because you suck with it".

Not really. See BW knows that the metrics will decide, and whinging will go away because they've provided other choices, just like all the threads at the beginning of MEMP to nerf the GPS and Black Widow went away.

People accepted the weapons just fine, are even now butt hurt that the Krysae does more dps than their precious, now-part-of-the-clique Black Widow.

When the Particle Rifle drops the same BAAAAAW will occur, and then go away, because BW understand that not every players is possessed of the same skill and reflexes as the 1% who want to dictate how MEMP works.

Ther alternative is BW spening money and manhours developing new content no one gives a crap about beause it's homogenized for people who think static parity = thematic balance.

Again rare gold arc shotgun

A shot gun at close quarters should of course be doing awesome damage espically if the Arc shotgun

If the arc gun is like a lightning gun that shoots lightning or electricty at the targets upclsoe once again see no need to nerf this shotgun

Yes, yes it does. It's a gimmick gun now, for gimmick builds. The Striker owns the falcon in every dept except stun. "Support assault rifle" is literally and actually as ridiculous as it sounds.

The Falcon is one of the best(if not the best) Assault Rifles in the game right now, even with the nerf.
