No, they don't. And most of them have a lot more utility and DPS than the reegar does. It's a powerful niche weapon, and it should stay that way.

People are strange. If you want more of a challenge, play on Gold/Silver with weaker weapons/lower skill points and don't use the super-duper new guns. No one is forcing you to use anything!

You don't even aim it though, just get close and pull a trigger and everything DIES... Like that doesnt need to be nerfed when all you have to do is point it and everything dropped dead even bosses.

Statistically, the only 2 MP weapons with a similar DPS to the Reegar are the Hurricane and the Harrier (they're close enough in DPS where they overlap), 1 of which is UR, the other is N7.

MIGHT get more from reload-cancelling a Widow (but then it has do deal with shield gate), but that's it for comparable damaging weapons. None are higher.
All this is before TC's SN bonus and Marksman, of course.

The argument tends to be that people shouldn't have to gimp themselves to get some kind of challenge.

There was also a group of us that did this, we even had a thread on the BSN where people would give us ideas for challenges. We would pick the ones that we thought were challenging rather than just tedious.

The only setup that really gave me any kind of trouble was 4 Krogan Soldiers melee only with no rockets allowed.

If you're looking at the DPS from my spreadsheet, that's around 3 to 5 times lower than I found it to be in the actual game, depending on range. It has the highest sustained DPS of any weapon.

I am watching people on the PC use it yes, I havent got it myself but I watch people running around just firing it near things with no reall aim and everything just dying in a few seconds.... Saw a GI us this thing and my God I swear nothing lasted more then a Second. NOTHING. and from my watching when I died once it didnt seem seem like the guy was aiming as long as it points towards the people they died

I knew it was definitely wrong, at least on shields, since 1 clip downs a Gold Atlas' 20k shield, but thinking about it, when 2 clips downs a Gold Atlas' armor as well (with AP stuff) it couldn't be right there either.

It seems to have the hidden 3x damage modifier against shields and barriers that Overload/Energy Drain have. It drains Banshee barriers in less than 1 clip, then takes noticably longer for the armour.

A single clip from the Reegar does somewhere in the neigborhood of 21,000 damage in about 1 second... about the shields of a gold Atlas. What other weapon can do even half that? Even if it's doing triple damage vs shields, Thats still 7,000 damage in a clip unloaded in about a second. The claymore does about 1600 damage in it's one shot clip, for comparison.

He responded before I edited my post to reflect the same point... the claymore does 1600 damage per 1 shot clip. A cloaked sniper Jevil shot will do around 2000.

Even without your edit, I am unaware of anything capable of dealing 3.7k damage in 1 second either.

That explains alot .... Seems like it functions differently on PC than 360 :huh:

Actually, the gun needs to have some kind of additional damage that isn't showing up in the game files(or it's just doing more than advertised).

Even with maxed out passive, 2 shotgun rail amps(consumable + gear), Tactical Cloak, and the 3x shield damage modifier the highest I can get a single clip's damage is just shy of 14k to a shield or barrier if I calculate it based off of what the game files say the base damage is. It's doing more than that in game right now without Tactical Cloak.

While I don't mind if the gun stays as is, I am willing to bet it will be "balanced" in the future. Possibly a rof change or damage reduction coupled with a an ammo clip capacity increase.

Yes, you can do a lot of damage, but from a highly dangerous range... you can use it on a banshee, but if you do it from the front the chances are high that you get executed... the same is true for the atlas, but you can actually run around the atlas easily... it is funny, it brings down the barrier of a gold banshee in a second, but it is high risk really

Atlases will never outright execute you, they will ONLY do so right after they do a regular melee attack. If you back up after they do that and wait for them to shoot their cannon again, you're good to go.

As a rough estimate, it had a DPS of around 16000 against an Atlas's shields on gold, judging by Stardusk's video. Y'know, destroying 22K points of shield in less than 1.5 seconds is PERFECTLY balanced.
People need a M920 with the firing rate of the Hurricane and the recoil of the Locust, and STILL it would be "balanced because it weights and has low ammo", amirite?
