I mean I guess I don't know about the
claim that EA got worst company of 2012 (source?) but it's not
unbelievable as many times the company that gets awards like that did
something that annoyed people who made mountains out of mole hills. But
to many people WoW did ruin the Warcraft series, yes it is a successful
MMO, but if that's what a successful MMO looks like, I think I'll pass
(been there done that).

I, too, will say no to the MMO idea.

Just wouldn't feel the same for me.

What, so we can all have a wonderful time on EA's servers again? No thanks! :-P

To op, you can't be serious, or are you just trolling? Just look at how TOR has ruined the KOTOR franchise.

Bioware, please don't listen to this deranged fool.
You've seen how such ideas turn out (and flop) with much grief on part of your wallets' expectations.
You know this is the wrong direction to take Mass Effect.

Thank you.

No.

Plus BioWare has proven that they have no idea how to do proper multiplayer on any kind of scale.

TOR - sucks
ME3MP - more bugs than an ant-farm and sh*t patches that don't fix real issues

I hope BW sees this and declines the mmo route. I can imagine them agreeing to what EA says and thus an mmo is born..

NO.

MMOs have a way of ruining the franchise they came from. Or, at the very least, they make it so no normal games in that series ever occur again.

Example: Do you think we will ever see Warcraft IV? Never. Not gonna happen. MMOs ruin any future singleplayer entries.

However, I think the ideal way to milk Mass Effect, should they want to, is to branch out into other genres.  For instance, it's not like story-driven space combat would be some crazy new idea that's never worked fabulously before.  (TIE Fighter, etc).

Just...

NO ME MMO.  Please.

MMO's ruin all series. Just look at WoW and Tor. Tor gave EA worst company of 2012, worse than all those mega-corporations that exploit people and steal missions and destroy the planet.

If a Mass Effect MMO "ruined" the series in the same manner of what WoW did to Warcraft, then I would love a Mass Effect MMO.

Because I'm pretty sure being the most successful subscription MMO for 7 and a half years doesn't count as ruining anything.

It's also kind of hard to ruin star wars at this point, just saying =P

thats because people wanted more from the warcraft world. if there was a warcraft 4 in that time i doubt wow would have stayed being so popular.

i just think it would be fun to have a evolve a character of my own choosing and play co-operatively with friends, most nights of the week and do more than kill the same hordes over and over again within the ME universe. theres so many potential story arcs after ME3 dlcs could keep it going for years.

in 2 years time should such a game come out would you care if your me3 ending was not cannon? i doubt it.

as for subscriptions these are inevitable, cod paved the way. all games companies want your £££!! if im going to pay a subscription it can at least be for something i like. also i see no reason why the ps3 or xbox cant run an mmo. (i play xbox) there will probably be new consoles out for both by then anyway.

I really wouldn't want a Mass Effect MMO. I don't have the time to play an MMO and regardless--they get boring awfully fast. I would much rather have them work on RPGs set in the ME universe, more console games.

MMOs have such a high failure rate, are fun for a little while, but grow old quickly.

It, is, trust me. Do not waste your time on that POS game.

And that alone should tell you how terrible Bioware is at making MMOs PERIOD. If they ever decide to go down that route, well, it will be a sad day for us ME fans to see the franchise get absolutely butchered.

Turian fleet and the entire Quarian species starve to death in orbit of earth when all their edible food runs out. The Geth and all AI are destroyed. Krogan, cured of the Genophage, overpopulate and swarm the ruined Earth. All mass effect based technology is now useless including biotics, travel is reduced to ship based FTL which in this universe can barely get between solar systems in the same cluster without running out of fuel. Other planets fall into mad max-esque post-apocolyptic  ruin as pretty much every leader is in the Sol system and there is no way to get supplies anywhere.

Garuss and Tali both starve to death on their marooned planet, joker dies after running out of medication, the rest of the crew eventually die off as they have no way to get off the planet and there aren't nearly enough people aboard to create a community (would cause to much inbreeding to be sustainable). Tchaunka is overrun with Krogan cured of the Phage, with no where to go the entire species eventually kills itself off or starves to death. ect.

The ending pretty much ruined the entire universe, it would take either massive ret-conning or amazing amounts of techno-babble/deus ex machina to make any of it interesting again and provide a playable setting that even remotely resembled the ME universe we know. Whoever created the ending pretty much shot the entire franchise in the foot - the only thing plausible would be prequels or concurrent stories. Prequels are heavily confined by the estrablished lore if they want to include current races, and concurrent stories would be undermined by the fact we know everything that happens and that none of it matters.

No, just look at the K.O.T.O.R. series. They made two games and ditched the third for an MMO and effectively killed Revan's story. The book was sub par for Revan as well.

They could have easily made another K.O.T.O.R game instead of the book.

A skyrim-esque Mass Effect game I would like. Set before the abomination that was ME3.

But an MMO? Don't give EA more ideas please!

Everybody excluding the 1.3 million subscribers it currently has, right? =]

It's a pretty strange argument against making a game because you personally happen to not like them. I don't particularly enjoy racing games, should they not make those at all then?

A Mass Effect MMO is at the very least on BioWare's mind, nothing guaranteed of course, but one of the founders of BioWare (I believe it was Greg Zeschuk) has mentioned it's not an impossibility, as the ME universe lends itself very well to that game type.
