Went ahead and purchased a PSP then it told me I have lost connection, upon reconnection everything is gone.

It happenned to me as well. I just exited the game and restarted it (might have restarted Origin too). Everything came back again. Happened a seconf time and I just repeated what I had done before.

For a friend of mine, who had this problem too, this was also the solution. So, hopefully, all is well. Your items are stored both offline and online (cloud) unless I am mistaken.
