Does playing as a dead warden in the DA:O DLC's mess up the save file import for DA:2?

Well i only really got into DA:O last year, but after completion i decided to play the Awakening expansion. However i did not complete it (or any other post-ending DLC's like Witch Hunt) since i thought that playing as my dead warden was a bit odd.
However i would like to now continue the DLC's and import that character into DA:2 when i'm done. So my question is, how does playing a dead warden in the DA:O DLC's affect DA:2? Will my character still have made the ultimate sacrifice? If/when these DLC's get mentioned in DA:2 , does it mess with the ultimate sacrifice ending that my character chose? or will DA:2 just think that i played them as the Orlesian warden instead (even though in reality i would have played the DLC's as the zombie warden of Ferelden?)

No, it retcons the Ultimate Sacrifice.

It doesn't, it just pretends your warden never actually died. But yeah doing that just creates continuity errors.

So, if i were to import this save, who would have died to kill the Archdemon? or does the game also assume that i took Morrigan up on her offer to make a demon child, thus no-one dies?

Click plot summary on the import screen, it should recap that.

The latter. Importing a dead Warden into Awakening automatically makes it so that you accepted the ritual and Morrigan has an OGB.

That's incorrect. Your Warden is magically alive, though the OGB doesn't exist. Your Warden is replaced by the Orlesian in terms of actual canon when imported.

It is the old, the orlesian warden just looks a lot like the hero of ferelden thing.

No, not at all. The pre-built No Compromise history is where a Dwarf Noble dies killing the Archdemon.

Actually in no comprimise the dwarf noble gets Alistair exiled and sends Loghain to his death against the archdemon.

I believe Dave has the right of it. My canon Warden sacrificed himself, but then I used him in Awakening/Witch Hunt (mostly because I was not okay with having my choices ignored otherwise). However in DA2 he is again referred to as having sacrificed himself. While I don't remember if the Orlesian Warden is ever actually referred to, it seems most likely that the game considers him to have done everything. Sometimes I like to imagine that my Warden was temporarily possessing him in order to wrap up unfinished business.

Edit: I've search old topics about US wardens imports.

From the the topic, it does sound BS. You have to import your US wardens to Awakening in order for DA 2 to recognize it. In other word you have to rectcon your US wardens.
