Hello All and Merry Christmas!

Here I sit without my game (just laptop) & am bored to tears..(No offence to my inlaws.. haha) :) Hubby & I are here for his familys reunion/Christmas get together..

So-oo..
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in some stories I wrote on my old EQ character and her travels?

Let me know.. If you are willing to bear with my novice story telling.. Come sit around my campfire & I will tell of them..if you so desire.

This was my avatar I created when I wrote these fables..

:) Thanks.. will post my first chapter (of 17) here tomorrow.. These are long ago tales of my Barb Beastlord.. haven't played EQ in ever so long, but Hubby said: Keep the stories anyway *he is so sweet* *smiles*

They sway both ways from my playing Everquest. Started out pretty much with what was happening in the game with my Barbarian Beastlord, then the fantasy writer wiggled out.. haha.

**Whomever reads them.. I hope you enjoy them.. Bear in mind also, this was the first time I had EVER put pen to paper.. don't know why I wrote em, but enjoyed doing so non the less :P

Come Sit.. I will give you a tale of becoming..

Hardened and Battleworn, wanting only to see my Village Once More..
I sit, severly injured in a small cavern of Ice and Snow I have found.. from the Raging
Snowstorm outside.

During my earlier Battle, with an Old Nemesis,"Gorr".. I found I have lost both my
Provisions and Healing Herbs for my Wounds.

I "Know Not" if I will survive this Injury..

As I huddle deep into my furs for warmth that is not there, I reflect back to the beginning
of "My Time" in this beautiful land of Crystal Ice & Blinding Snow.

I was Born on a night closely resembling this moment, as was told to me by my father
Lo'Rrin MacGuiness..

The night was frigid, with Snow blowing across our tiny village of Halas, closing our
passes to all travelers who may of wished passage granted to them.

My Father was distraught, he knew this was going to be a hard birth for my mother "Kahesha".
Alas, she is not of our hardy barbarian heritage.

My father's Shaman Drinel, friend and healer to our family, had been delayed in his trip
back to Halas. The pass was now closed.. All further help from him was lost to us!

As "Nature" must..
"I" came forth on this very night of our God's raging in the Heavens!

Upon the moment of my birth, the heavens split asunder! Lo'Rrin, awed by such an un-natural
force named his only child "Azzarria".. "Child of the Storm"

My Lovely mother Kahesha, being of frail health could not withstand the battering of my
birth, nor the forces of nature outside pounding on our icy door.
The God's giving me and taking her..
I will regret not meeting this beautiful woman!

I grew strong, learning well over the years with both my fathers teachings and Drinel's
mastery of his shaman arts.

As my Seasons came & went with vicious goblins always at our passes, I mastered the art of
weaponry & spells. As payment for this.. the God's granted me a wolf cub companion, to
guard my journeys across Norrathian lands & "I" - To guard his...

Azzarria looking down upon this beautiful snow white Creature, guarding her so closely for
his young seasons, named him "Ponpi'Kala" - "White Guardian".

I, being restless in my village these seasons past, went seeking my father. I told him of
my natural Calling to seek & hunt further out from our lands. AH! My heart near burst with
pain for the look that came upon my fathers face!  We embraced..

As I stood back..looking fully upon the face of this gentle barbarian father, who would
fight & die to the death for his daughter & people, I still saw there his understanding. He
said, "Azzarria my beautiful & proud daughter", "Know This"..

"What you wish is not always what you get". "Sometimes it is much better".. "Sometimes much,
MUCH worse!".  "Guard well these words!" "They will be your guidence from me until we meet again upon our
Ancestral Planes".

Shaken by her father's deep emotion and his words of guidence, I still was determined to
venture forth.

Destiny seemed to be calling her on the winds..
Azzarria could NOT resist!

Tall - Proud Azzarria stood very still in the dusky morning light by the lake edge before
leaving. Turning slowly.. Her deep blue eyes resting on every familiar hut & shop she had visited.. The warmth of her people, immense within!

Remembering small tales of each of these visits & the gentle barbarian people she loved so
well, she would hold them to her heart for strength and endurance.. Wishing that Fate had
chosen a different path for her to follow.

Chapter 1 - To be continued..

PS.. These stories have not been re-written, since the time I wrote them, so please.. be gentle in your opinions, if you have any to tell me :P I am but a humble novice writer.. *note* "Novice" writer.. haha

My guild loved em anyway at the time..
Chapter 2 to follow shortly..

"I will regret not meeting this beautiful woman!"

I will regret not sounds a tad bit off.

I'd change it to

"I shan't regret meeting this beautiful woman"

But that's just me. "Regret not" sounds like you're trying to force an "old style" of writing in this.

Like I said, I'm anal about things like that, and it really isn't a big deal. It's your story, so do as you please! :)

Oh, and... MOAR!!!

No, I know that, and I like it! :) I understand what you're writing and why you're doing it, but when you say that particular phrase, the wording sounds a bit off. That's all. :)

Like I said, I'm nit picking. You can forget I said anything! :)

Well hell...
I guess I had better not put anymore of my stories here :o

I don't know who you are or why you are so against me telling a few simple EQ stories, but I don't want a riot going on here either.

I was just trying to be friendly on these forums people.  And here I thought in the 'off forum' area people wouldn't be so nasty.. duh me!

There Panderfringe.. happy now?!

I suspect Panderfringe was just kidding. Either way, if people are enjoying your story, you should keep posting segments if that's what you want to do. :)

"StormChild".. the silky voice of Halas Lake whispersss..
"One last swim for old times sake?"

Shedding my furs, I slip into the dark lake rolling over, feeling the cold water caressing
my skin.. cooling the fevered rush of adreneline that courses thru me.

Looking up at my great northern sky, Luclin has not yet given way to her brother Sun..

I have the pleasure of seeing masses of stars so bright they hurt mine eyes - Vyiing
one another for attention!

Floating leisurely, my thoughts drift within the stars. I must decide which direction I
want to travel. Drinel upon learning of my leaving has given me knowledge & maps to sustain through the
perils of the lands awaiting me.

Abruptly, as though the lake has heard my thoughts & decision whispers..
"Azzarria, go forth!"
"Learn!"
"Fight!"
"Experience this for me & return to share the Glories and Hardships with your people!".

This being said, I know my decisions, though painful to my Father were correct.  It's Time!

Pulling myself from the lakes edge, I gather a small soft fur & dry off. Fumbling from
cold, I find it hard to equip my armor & weapons.

This having finally done, "I STILL"..
Slowing my breathing.. Deep within my soul I call to Ponpi'Kala.  Looking down once more, I
smile, seeing his Strength & Beauty.  In the Language know only to my Hybrid side I say,
"Kakita!" - "Onwards My Pet".. "Ever Onward!"

Carefully traversing the icy cavern leading from Halas Lake.. I find myself looking down, onto the barren snow- plains of Everfrost...

I encounter my first 'Avenger'..
Nasty, dead Thing! "Away with thee!"
The fight was bloody for us both, the Win.. Mine!

By late day, I feel the chill creeping into my bones, hunger persistant within me! Upon laying a small fire for warmth, I share this meager meal of dried meat & berries with Ponpi'. The warmth of the small fire has me unexpectedly dozing. Curling up against Ponpi's silken fur I finally give in.. to unknown dreams awaiting me.

Streaks of reddish-pink dawn break the horizon..

My senses alerted, I feel a difference in the frozen Earth..
Vibrations, unknown to me shake the ground! Looking into the distance I see a mammoth & her calf approaching close to where I camp. I know from tales of the Elders, neither I nor
Ponpi' dare venture this beast in my young seasons. GODS though, this majestic animal is beautiful!

Quickly dressing, I put out my lazy campfire retreating to safer grounds, letting her to her wanderings..
Safe from Me.. for now!

Upon higher ground I continue to watch her & the calf. My mind sharpens! I will remember
her patterns for whence, once more she & I will meet!

Noticing the lateness of the hour, I decide to run through Blackburrow, home of the
temperant gnolls & their commanders.

Winding, winding paths! So confusing to one so young! I fairly panic, with the loss of
light surrounding me! This dusky hour by my proud superstitious people, is called, "The
Niknik". Confusion of Direction.. They believe the un-dead are at play with one's mind! My Talisman protection from all things, but this!

Stumbling & shaken I burst forth from the dank earthen tunnels, onto a sight to behold for one
so young!

Never having ventured from her home of ice & snow, amazement washes over me as I drink in
this new beauty of green plains & warmth. Gods! - The warmth! In all the tales of my father
to me, I always thought they were only to simply comfort a small ones passing to sleep!

My breathing slows.. With that, comes complete & utter exhaustion! Poor Ponpi' has also run his last for this
day.

Looking to my maps, it shows a lake West of me. Hopefully there I may rest undisturbed from hungry wolves & wanderings of the un-dead.

Running across the hills I notice a small wooden hut, farther South of me a small entrance
into the mountain. Another time perhaps!!

Finally, coming upon the lake exhaustion truly sets in! NO Fire - nor - FOOD this night,
Must Rest..
Snuggling deep into my furs, I fall into sweet oblivian.

Consciousness slowly raising within me, I hear the strange new sounds of the hills & smile..

Not wanting to open my eyes but know I must, I stir.. sitting up.  Looking around for Ponpi' I
find him swimming in the lake! Gods! Never having seen him wet, I laugh! He looks like a
Giant White Rat!!!  I decide to join this wet companion of mine!

Washing the grime & previous days fear from my body, I rise dripping from the lake,  anticipating a warm fire & hearty meal to begin my new day in this warm strange land.

Lingering longer than I should have, early morning losing ground to later day, I know I must continue on my journey.

Breaking camp, I remember the hut I had ran near night last & decide to replenish my meager provisions, then head towards the city they call; "North Qeynos". Curiosity driving me from the tales told to me by Drinel, our shaman healer & friend.. I believe I remember him saying it was the lineage of ones called; "Antonius Bayle".

Calling Ponpi' to my side, I find a path I had missed in the dark & head towards that distant memory of seeing the merchant hut night last.

Ah! The Hut! Almost at once though, instinct makes me pause on the path. What of these people? Will I be welcomed, or shunned?

As my story goes..
I neglected in telling of my strange heritage. "Barbarian".. Aye!! Though, not truly.. Here-in also lies the other side, an uncommon side!

My mother Kahesha's,"Beastlord" blood runs strongly thru me. Allowing me control of the companion at my side. Little is known to me of this strange & wonderful heritage.

Losing my mother at birth, my father, grieving still.. would not answer my questions on this matter..saying, "It should of been told to you by her".  Giving up in exasperation, I gather as much as I could from Drinel & let it lie. Content in knowing my mother would be with me always.

Trepidation within me, I approach & enter their hut. Thank the Gods! The merchant is
cautious, but willing to provide the supplies I need! Upon completing the barter &
consulting my maps, I set forth for the distant city...

Ponpi' growls, bringing my attention back to the path ahead.. "Gods!"  "What manner of
creature is this, that possess Black Stick Legs holding up a Crimson & Yellow hard-shelled
body?!"
My curiosity winning over, I approach this creature. For my troubles, I find myself bitten severly!

"Well!"..
"This will not do!"  "God's creature or NO, I will NOT take this Pain & Humiliation!"
Having barely won this strange new fight, I gather my wits about me & see in the distance
my destination..

Towering Grey-stone & Brown-brick castle walls loom towards the Heavens. Heavily battered & worn from long-ago wars. Yet, standing still with proud flags & banners of its people.. Waving in the warm soft winds.
A profound sense of loss for these people nearly over takes my senses!

Amoungst the great pine trees, I see corpses of slain "Darkpaw". Ah! They have yet to learn!  Still invading borders that were closed to them times long past! I will try to assist their cause, both for gaining these proud people's respect & bounty for my dwindling purse.

Upon gaining permission to approach their great worn walls & city, I & Ponpi' gather to hunt this enemy.. AND - the hard-shelled creatures they call "Fire Beetles". "AYE!"  "From my deep itching wound, Fire Beetle is well named!"

Hunting near their castle walls, I hear upon the winds a "Hail" from behind..

Turning, I see a "Erudite Wizard" standing proud before me dressed in robes of gold silk &
earthen browns..his garments shimmering in the late afternoon sun - in his hand.. a white oak-runed staff of wonderous strength!

Upon our greetings, I learn his name & find his seasons to be near my own.

"By the Gods!"  I wonder..
"Should I dare ask this Erudite Wizard if he would care to join me in my quest of these
Norrathian Lands?"

Chapter 2 - To be Cont..
