Destroy.

Control doesn't solve the "technological singularity" bullsh*t. It's shown the Illusive Man being electrocuted so those things will electrocute Shepard as well if I choose this one. Nope!

Synthesis doesn't solve the "technological singularity" bullsh*t. It doesn't make any sense and Shepard is going to be.. uh... one with the Crucible? One with that beam? Nope!

Destroy doesn't solve the "technological singularity" bullsh*it but this option assures me the Reapers will never come back. It is shown Anderson shooting at it so this is what he would do. I trust his judgement. I'll take this option.

Without the illusive man there would be no me2 or me3.  The illusive man is the true hero of mass effect!!!

Synthesis, my first time around. I don't embrace things critically my first time doing anything, ergo I got caught up in all the hype.

Control baby, control! It looked like a heroic sacrifice, and I've always liked blue.

I don't regret it remotely. For that Shepard, I'll be controlling every run through!

I have two hilarious friend stories, though. My boyfriend's favorite character throughout the game was EDI. Took her everywhere. Talked to her. She was his space BFF. He told me he felt like his Shepard was her father figure, watching his little girl grow up. And he knee-jerked into destroy because Anderson. He said when EDI didn't come off the ship and he realized what he'd done, his lip started quivering.

One of our best friends is fond of the geth. He screwed up his playthrough, and wound up having to choose between quarians and geth. He chose geth. He said afterwards, his ship was really depressing. EVERYONE was pissed about Tali's death, and even his space hamster wouldn't come out to talk to him. He also went with destroy. He told me the next day "Well, the good news is Shepard's seeing Liara again. The bad news is she's the worst person ever."

Control is the option I would choose if forced to. Don't like it, don't like the other choices.

Why?

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeadcanoooooooooooooon!

With control I can solve every problem BioWare tried to put in my way.

Still prefer a rewrite.

I admit that I Alt+Tab first time and did quick google search "wtf was that" and "have i done somehing wrong". But it was only only the second day after release, not much information, so I got back in game and picked Destroy.

Destroy. I will always believe it is the best and only option.

Man, you should have reversed the positions of Control and Destroy options on your poll. Colors would be a spot-on match then:

I chose Destroy because I didn't believe what the Catalyst said about EDI and the geth (lying little bastard).

My first choice was to never play Mass Effect again.

My second choice was Synthesis because I was wondering why you had to work so hard to unlock it. At that point, I was out of the narrative completely and wasn't even thinking in terms of story, because quite frankly there wasn't one and I had already played that ending years ago when I played the first Deus Ex. All of the ending choices were absolutely terrible, and Shepard just choosing any of them without seriously questioning it first goes against the character. I watched the Synthesis ending...went on youtube and watched the other two endings and it solidified my first choice, and led me to my third choice: rent future BioWare games, or buy them used.
