If they introduce them in MP then I'd want to see them in SP with Javik in the party. Would love to hear his comments in such a situation.

I could not agree more. This would stop people from claiming it doesn't fit lore, and you're right that Javik would have some interesting things to say.

Oh sweet zombie jesus. . . . scions

But yeah in the codex it says about the "Miracle at Palaven" and how the reapers used collector swarms to intercept landing crafts.
So maybe *sniff* Maybe.

Yeah I know, but... let assume some of them survived :P It would be great to hear "assuming direct control" in multiplayer, wouldn't it?

I want them back just for this reason alone!

*hacking on wave 6*

*assumes control*

The Praetorian was a **** to kill in ME2, would make a great boss in MP!

Praetorians make Banshees look like swarmers. Of course none of them stand a chance against Marauder Shields...

Bioware never said the Collectors were completely wiped out. The codex describes them in the PRESENT tense, not the past tense. Seeker swarms were used on Palaven, and you can personally SEE their Oculi in singleplayer when you go to Palaven and back to Earth.

I doubt the Reapers would have enough Oculi hanging around to last until the very END of the war and not have any actual troops.

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

stop with the "lore" argument. Cerberus is dead, reapers are either dead or under control, all the relays are destroyed, Geth are on our side or dead. heck... all humans are either dead or are square 1 again.

Forget about "lore" and drop some new enemies in future DLC.

On a side note, we are a very demanding community for a game that drops FREE DLC!!!

-The multiplayer doesnt take place AFTER the ME3 single player campaign

-The DLC is free becasuse Bioware is trying to kiss our behinds for the crappy ending.

-Mass Effect is centered around lore, if we break it "just because"... you just have more crap

OK smart guy, if MP is before ME3's events, then how come we get to use "ex-cerberus" characters? Did their contracts expire or something? And Banshees aren't created until about 3/4 of the way through ME3. The examples are endless.

You are correct when you say "Mass Effect is centered around lore".  The solo player story mode anyway.

The Ex-Cerberus Adepts and Vanguards are defectors who joined the Alliance. It says so in their description. It's not uncommon for people to switch sides during a war.
"Every war has its traitors."

The events of Multiplayer could have taken place at any point between when the Reapers invade to the Priority Earth mission. So it's entirely possible it's all taking part in the last 1/4 of the game.

I'm not saying that everything in the Multiplayer follows the lore to the letter, but what you listed can be explained quite easily.

I support fighting the Collectors in MP. The ingame lore already doesn't make sense -- you can fight the Geth, implying they're hostile and under Reaper control, yet you can play as a Geth, implying that you've freed them from said control. This all assumes you didn't let them burn over Rannoch to begin with. MP was pretty clearly made for the rule of fun, so I don't see the point in getting your knickers in a twist over it. (I've always wanted to use that phrase.)

Collector Drone
Collector Assassin
Collector Guardian
Abomination
Harbinger
Scion
Praetorian

There, a 7-unit faction, all with resources ready to be ripped from ME2. Certainly less work than if it were to be made from scratch anyway.

Praetorians were crazy hard on insane difficulty, so it'd get a bit crazy on gold trying to fight one with all his little collector buddies.

Presumably their HP/damage values would be tweaked to match whatever standard they use. Although given how much people seem to be complaining about Gold being easy, that may not be a bad thing.

EDIT:  And to pre-empt the argument that they wouldn't fit on maps like Glacier, a Praetorian fit in the Normandy's elevator during the abduction scene at the end.  It had to stay low to the ground, but it fit.  If anything an Atlas is bigger.

Lore is a factor in general but should not be a problem. I mean, Geth fighting at Menae and Tuchanka?

Lore also changes. Protheans were extinct. From Ashes changed that. 10 bucks DLC and the collectors could be alive and kicking.

Tweaks would be required to fit new game mechanics of course, but all the artwork and models are there, so its easier than creating new things. That is good for us and for bioware.

Only thing really going against Collectors is ME2. Bringing collectors back would be a big change and completely kills ME2 purpose, but that ship has sailed long time ago. If Sovereign was alive in ME3, would you care?

And if BioWare manages it right, we don't even need to change the Collectors status. Just make a new challenge in MP called "Colonies defense" instead of N7 Ops and we have a MP based on ME2 story-arc, not after the reapers invasion.

And beyond all this, Collectors are biotics. No MP unit uses actual Biotic power. Now imagine "Reaper Controlled Collectors" casting singularity and Scion casting shockwave in your favorite Firebase. Awesome isn't it?

I would gladly pay 10-20USD for a full Collectors pack. Heard me BioWare?

I don't really think MP has to be directly correlated to SP. I mean the reapers could probably just recreate the DNA of the collectors and reconstruct them. Same thing with the protheans.
