Hey all. The other day when I was in the multiplayer lobby all of a sudden I get the blue screen thing for the first time. My computer restarted and since then everytime I try to launch Mass Effect 3 I get the Mass Effect 3 has stopped working message.
I was thinking about uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it. But I was not sure if I did that if I would loose all the Specter packs I have bought for the multiplayer part. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do to fix the issue?

Before you do that, try "repair install" to see if that fixes it. In Origin, right click on the ME3 link and select it. If that doesn't fix your BSoD, then uninstalling the game and reinstalling is the next step. All your 'stuff' will be there after you reinstall. It is saved on the ME3 server and syncs up with your computer, under files that are saved, but not deleted when you uninstall the game (unless you tell it to, so, duh, don't have it delete the saved files), so you should be safe. The issue is most likely a corruption of a .dll file, which is causing the game to crash your computer. The repair install option stands a good chance of fixing it. It begs a question, what if anything did you change with your computer? Any GPU software upgrades? Soundcard software upgrades? OS upgrades? Upgrades to Origin or ME3 (i.e. did you play successfully after patches to the above, but now suddenly have problems?). Another issue, in my opinion, Bioware pushes out mini-updates to ME3 at various times, I've manually done some updates that, while minor, definitely occurred, but were not published as official software patch updates. Perhaps one of those is the culprit and a "repair install" will fix that. OK, enough spitballing for now. Good luck.

First I want to say thank you for responding to my post. I have ran the repair twice and I am still getting the "Mass Effect 3 has stopped working." message. It happens just as the cinematic of the omni tool comes up.
To answer some of your questions the only time I had trouble playing ME3 was last week when all of a sudden the game would not launch. I had to uninstall and reinstall Origin to get it working again.
And I am not a tech person in any shape way or form. I have no idea what a GPU software is, but I am sure I have had no upgrades. I think I will try and uninstalling of the game. Will it ask me if I want to delete the saved files? I really don't want to loose any of that. Spent a little to much money for all of it but none the less.

I am having a similar issue. However, mine quits at random times during play, not right at the beginning. Also, in the single player, I have a bug where my character's face appears completely black (though only in the cutscenes; regular play is just fine). I just got a new computer and transferred my saves to it. Anyone know how to fix this/and or had these issues?

I tried contacting them once. While trying to figure out how to get the ME DLC Bringing down the sky. That was on Facebook and they never replied back to that. I do not see a email or phone number. All i see are links to there FB Twitter youtube pages. Sorry If I am sounding like a dunce. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

I am having a similar problem to Lethe37. I managed to stop the face blacking out by turning off dynamic shadows. However, the game consistently randomly crashes. It doesn't seem to be keyed to anything I am doing in the game. It has happened right after a quicksave, right after pressing escape, after "Left Shift," in random combat… I have not changed any computer hardware, nor, to my knowledge, have I installed any software that could cause this, other than the ME3 and Origin updates. I have checked for updates, and repaired the install. No joy. My system is a Win7 64bit, core i7 processor, with a Radeon HD 6770M Video card. This is my second play through, and I encountered nothing like this on my first. Very frustrating….

I tried the dynamic shadow thing. It works, though now it is rather sticky. Anyone know a better fix?

OK, I think I have fixed the game randomly crashing issue:
My machine has two graphic processors (GPUs); one for light use and an ATI Radeon one for high preformance use. Apparently, the program that switched between them is bugged and would only play ME3 on the light duty GPU - even when expressly told otherwise. I had to download a new driver set from HP (My computer's manufacture). From what I understand, if you try to get it diredctly from AMD, it is bugged, so go through your PCs manufacturer. I would have thought they would be the same, but whatever. HP worked, AMD didn't. Anyway, after doing that, I was able to instruct the computer to play ME3 on the Radeon card, and it has been fine. I don't know if this is what is causing your problems, but it workedd for me. Hope if helps!
