The only emotional scene that evoked that kind of emotion in the RIGHT way was Mordin... it hit the tone perfectly the other stuff was just cheap.

and then after going through very long stages of anger, denial and depression, I learned, finally to headcanon. 'm not a writer. so I never thought that I could ever reach that point that some writers speak of - you know when they read something so bad, they just have to do better. Mass Effect 3 made me reach that point.
I cried. For broken dreams and shattered illusions. and then I got productive. for the most part

For the most part, I kept my cool during the game, though I freaked out a bit over Grunt's almost-death, Thessia, and due to the sheer amount of adrenaline pumping through me when you're getting mobbed by banshees while protecting the missiles in Priority: Earth.
But I found myself in tears later, after I had switched the game off, after Mordin and Legion's sacrifices, and after Thessia. It just seemed like Mordin and Legion deserved some tears, I guess. And Thessia was the point in the series where I stopped being ok with the thought that we were fighting a losing battle and all going to die.

Nope. I haven't done that in a while now actually. I'm starting to worry a little.

Lol, no. Not saying no to sound macho but it's silly to cry over something so badly written. Well I guess you could cry at having spent $60 for this crap.
Lucas? From TW2 forums?

Ever wonder what happened to 90% awesome and 10% crap? The problem is, you can't really argue with bad writing, but some-how, the game still manages to make it all so freaking good.
I'll admit, that ME3 has very questionable points and flaws. The problem being that you can't create a story like that without planning it from the start. But the way fans its been cut open makes it all really unfair. If we do the same to any game you're bound to find as many flaws.
As long as the characters are still as great as they were, then I'm fine with that. Its the whole reason I play BioWare games for. The story might be mediocre but it makes you feel epic, and the characters drive it all from A to B.

The ending itself when my FemShep jumped into the beam, though...that had me sobbing for about a half-hour straight. I hadn't realized how much I loved her until she was taken from me like that.

ME2 - Teared up at Overlord
ME3 - Teared up at Mordin, Thane, Grunt almost dieing and Legion(not murder him, just when he leaves us so he can go to his people)
I will say this, even though they focused on combat more in ME2 and 3, they damn well had you ready for sadness during the game. It could have been done without so much action, but it would take up a lot of effort. *coughs*

I was talking to all the "I cried because it sucked" comments.
Those completly kill any sort of talk about caring about the game and turn it into another ending sucks thread. Which in it of itself sucks to see happen to a not so bad thread.

Tali and Legion are prime examples, but yes, Anderson too (at the end, and I had never really been overly into him). I literally reloaded an earlier save and went about doing what I hoped would allow me to get the result I wanted for the first two, I was so upset by what happened. It ended up paying off, which immediately defused my anger, because otherwise I was going to start raving and blowing up the forum. I still think that situation was a little contrived, but I understand the thought processes behind it.
The montage didn't fail either, where you saw the "best" of all those "long time" characters and realized what was being lost, or saved, depending on how you want to look at it. Watch the season finale of Scrubs, season 8 for something along similar lines- if you are a fan of Scrubs, I don't see how it won't hit you in the soft spot.

ME2: Little teary eyed when Garrus was taken by seeker swarm & Overlord
ME3: Grunt's fake death, Mordin's sacrifice + on my "ahole run" shooting him made me sick. Legion and Garrus saying goodbye.
Ok, I'm a cryier it seems xD

But yeah I did cry during ME3 ... and ... yes, it was the ending. But let me explain; not necessarily any particular scene because a lot of it was confusing to me (as I'm sure a lot of you are snorting right now and thinking, "yes because the ending sucks and doesn't make sense..."). But what I mean is that as all those last scenes are playing out, after actual gameplay is over, and I just lay on my stomach on the couch staring at the screen and thinking about everything that had happened, the fall of Thessia, the fall of EARTH, Shephard's death, just all that sadness and sacrifice, AND THE FCUKING MUSIC, OMG ... the tears just started falling. And fell and fell and fell.
Oh and a couple days later I went and bought the soundtrack on amazon ;_; So now I can bawl like a baby while listening to it at the gym on the elliptical machine.
