I wonder if anyone has romanced Jack in ME2, didn't do the Grissom Academy mission, then cried when they got to the Cronos Station and saw the Phantom. I might have cried if that happened to me.

I romanced her in one of my playthroughs, seeing her as a phantom just made me go WTF?. She's the most badass biotic out there and they make her a space shinobi?

But... the record in the labs, the one explaining how does that happen, made my chest burn in pain.

almost cried at seeing thessia fall

Funny...I cheered when Thessia fell. Let's face it, that world was the center of galactic douchec ockery for its cycle.

No. Had a few bad feelings here and there, but never shed any tears.

At the end I almost did. Saying goodbye was tough, and then Anderson.... Yeah, I was emotional. :)

Mordin - not that I cried, but it was pretty close.

I was choked up at Mordin's sacrifice, though no actual tears.

I repeat myself, but... Thane's death. Specifically, the prayer. I was dealing with it pretty good until Kolyat said it was for Shep. Then, my face scrunched up and the tears fell, man. Had to put the controller down and go wash my face.

Also, no matter how you feel about the endings, that music is beautiful.

Not once. When I had to kill Mordin I was more like "Why did you do that? You big idiot." in a frustrated way but no tears. I am pretty stoic though so I doubt a videogame no matter how well done would make me cry.

God yes. Not so much in ME1, but there were some moments after that. Like in ME2 when, on my first run through the Suicide Mission, Tali and Grunt died. Having just started liking Tali from the first game, it was rather shocking to me. And the less said about Overlord the better.

ME3 is an interesting story. In an effort for continuity, I left Tali dead on my main playthrough (Quick, how much respect did I lose as a result of that statement?), so I apparently missed out on a lot of heartwarming moments. But Mordin's final scene, Thane's final scene, Grunts entire mission (Charr included), and Anderson's final scene all got me to give up a few manly tears in response.

I bawled like a baby when Mordin died, and was teary when Legion died. Also, before I got to the ending, I got pretty upset in the dreams. Now I just hate the hologram kid.

The only time I cried was during the romance conversation at the end with Garrus. Haha, man, was I waterfalling those tears.

Also when Mordin and Thane died. Except, Thane's death was ruined when I noticed his shoes popping out of the sheets. :(

Mordin's death got a few bittersweet tears.   Then Kaidan's (LI) & Garrus' goodbye talks in London FOB and a few more at Anderson's death on the Citadel.  That's why Shepard's ending was so confusing, it wasn't bittersweet it was just bitter.

You let conrad die?  Shame on you.

I got teary (when I say cry thats what I mean) several times through the game honestly.

I cried a bit at the end of Tuchanka, the combined happy and sad type.  I cried at Thanes death, not so much because of his death itself cause honestly he wasnt a favorite character of mine but the whole part about the prayer being for me, yeah...  And then I cried a bit again during the end of Rannoch, not as much as the others but still.  And then I cried a wee bit during the romance scene with Liara, the happy type only there.  AAAAAnd then I cried at the end a bit when Anderson died, very sad.  And then one last time when I was shooting the thing for the destruction ending and the sad music played and all that jazz, that was the worst.  Both teary and a pit in my gut, almost unbearable

For the record, the last bit occured before I came to the realization that nothing made sense.  It was a very powerful moment when I was still tied up in it, but in retrospect it was just dumb.  My sadness was exchanged by "wtf r u serious" when the after credits scene played and i looked back on the scenes thinking how nonsensical it was and how many questions were left.

Yes, once in ME2

Many, many times in ME3.

As for ME1, out of the countless times I've played it, I only ever got choked up once at Ash's death on Virmire. But that was probably more my mood than the game's influence.

ME3 by far is the most dramatic. Which is why is hurts that much more to have such an abysmal ending.

Thane's death. Mordin's was more of a "godspeed you magnificent bastard." He died doing what was right.

I teared up when Mordin died, but bawled like a baby when Legion sacrificed himself. I was moved by Thane's prayer. The fact he was thinking about Shep and wanting to protect him/ her on his deathbed.

I teared up in the aftermath of Shepard killing Mordin to stop the genophage cure. Those scenes were INCREDIBLY well-devised, even if most play out the same way regardless of the outcome (i.e., the context totally changes how it's all received).

I cried a bit when Mordin died. Mostly because it was so emotional, but in a good way, a fulfilling way. The uplifting scene with Bakara afterward was pretty much awesome, too, and it prolonged my weeping.

I curled up on the couch and cried for a good half hour when Thane died. The prayer book thing really got me, it was so touching. Plus, he was one of my favorite characters, and I was sad he died. The conversation with Bailey beforehand made me think he might be okay, too...dammit, Bailey.

At the end, I cried because I was horribly depressed about the whole thing. I wasn't crying in a good way, the way you do when you're moved. I cried in the way you cry as a child when the family dog dies.

So many people saying no, maybe they're just afraid to be honest....

What's more surprising is the few people who've mentioned the ending, not the citadel crap but before that, saying goodbye to your squadmates...

How could u not cry knowing that those conversations are the last time Shepard will ever interact with those characters in a Mass Effect game. Ever again.

Personally, thinking about the last 4-5 years and all the good times I've had immersing myself in this world and these characters. That made me more upset than anything else.
