Dearth of Asari Fashion Designers

But by the Goddess, this Asari must know which fashion house came up with the tiger-striped, rubber and latex mesh atrocity that she is accursed with wearing into every enemy engagement. While the tactical benefits of Nemeses and Phantoms stopping to ridicule the walking eyesore I have become cannot be underestimated, I do not know whether it is worth the cost of being friendzoned by every man I meet in N7. (Shamefully, this includes Vorcha as well.)
While I am still a maiden, I'm entering my third century and starting to feel my biological clock ticking. If we all make it through this, I would like to settle down and start a family one day, and constantly running around in what looks like a BDSM costume may be attracting the wrong type of people. Also, I do not need a strap of duct tape under my breasts for support; I know we call our military units commandos but really.
I would be interested in knowing whether any of my Asari sisters have succeeded in turning lemons into lemonade as the human saying goes, and managed to make this uniform look at least passable rather than patently fugly. Pics or color schemes would be most divinely appreciated.
For Thessia!

I've heard a predominantly white look works really well on Asari. Otherwise I can't really say what else, usually I'm too busy flying across the battlefield and sending enemies flying about and getting my visor covered in blood.
Sincerely,
An Alliance Vanguard.
P.S. Thanks for stasising those annoying marauders!

That the exact reason why I like it though

Dear Mr. Vanguard,
I shall try an all white color scheme now, since I happen to be back at the base anyway. It's summer back on Thessia, so if I get a chance to return in the near future I will be seasonally chic.
With gratitude,
Leena

Experience has shown us that emotions run high before and after a fight, and it has proven invaluable time and again to have a uniform that allows rapid transition between the bedroom (or the basement) and the battlefield. Not to mention their effectiveness in distracting our enemies...
You're a few centuries too early to be questioning our traditions, Maiden T'Skoog. Show some patience, and I've no doubt the wisdom of our choices will become clearer in time.

My Vanguard is nemesis-esque. Dunno' why, and I've never used her.

To my elder sister,
Of course, I did not mean to question the rightness of the matriarchs. The galaxy's current state of seige has perhaps made me too eager to seek out prospective partners. Perhaps I will give extranet dating another chance. I have several friends who have happily settled down with mates found online, some more than once.
With reverence,

I must point out, however, that as my closet of hoodies and drawer full of sweat pants will attest... I am not a fashion expert.

With all due respect to the matrons, I confess I have found the same problem. I have found that black, red, black, pattern stripe 2, pattern color red is flashy but not entirely hideous. I find the main issue is that the torso looks ugly in any color but black.
Good luck on whichever battlefield you find yourself on,

Zanshi, thank you so much for your input on this. I wholeheartedly agree that the torso shape, taper, coloration, everything is just wrong except in very few circumstances, though I have also found white to be nice. I think I'll try out the black and red layout soon, it does indeed sound flashy and perhaps reminiscent of a black widow--this I find quite appropriate since I prefer to combine Stasis bubble with my N7 Valiant for maximum efficiency and minimum risk to my team and myself on the battlefield! I may keep my white costume for Cerberus missions, however, as I would not want to be mistaken for a Nemesis from afar by my team members.
With warm wishes, and may the Goddess watch over you,
Leena

let me know how it works out. My sister, who admittedly has fondness for, ummm, kitschy 7th millenia lava lamps and whatnot has found dark red, dark pink tint, black (the torso again), pattern camoflage, pattern color yellow gives a sort of souped up speeder "flames" effect.
Trashy, but she's not even a hundred and likes the sort of guys who go for that...
I'll give the torso a try in white.
May the Goddess watch over you,
Zanshi, T'Carae

Dear Lenna,
Lucky you, I'm sending you this message via a terminal I'm hacking as we speak. It's dark here on Noveria, and we lost our Salarian awhile ago...and guess who they sent to grab the information from this base? That's right: the guy without technical expertise. Luckily I have this Turian watching my back...somewhere out there, hard to see especially with these tiny helmet slits. Well hopefully I'll get out of this mess and get a new paint job...Brute claws aren't pleasant to be smashed with...a new shotgun would be nice, too. Heard the Quarians were working on something.
Sincerely,
Roland.
P.S. Sure, meet at that Cafe on the Citadel the next time we're both free?

Dear Roland,
I hope you made it out of Noveria in one piece. I've had a few close calls there myself. Just a few days ago I had to retrieve a package from the back offices and the Krogan battlemaster who said he would watch me decided he would rather chase after a Nemesis he kept missing with his heavy melee. I took a shot from a Phantom who surprised me but my barriers held out okay. Good thing I practiced a little with Liara T'Soni when I lived on Ilium. She told me my barriers needed some practice, but not as much practice as her former secretary. I didn't ask.
I find there's no better race to have watching your back than a Turian. They will literally lay down their lives rather than let you fall first. Krogan get easily distracted, Drell make one wrong move and they're gasping on the floor, Salarians will drop you if it seems the tide is turning, humans always have to be the hero. No offense.
Well, I look forward to seeing you on the Citadel. I hear I have a mission in the Terminus systems and one on Sur'Kesh soon, but then I have shore leave for a week. I'll be at the Citadel then, and Goddess willing, our schedules will match up.
With anticipation,
Leena

Dear Glisk,
While I respect the Vorcha's cultural heritage of semi-nudity, if I were to do the same it might send the wrong message. Too many of my sisters while away their entire maidenhood in strip clubs, and many people seem to think that all Asari my age are only looking for a cheap thrill. Then one day, 400 hits and those girls in the strip clubs and merc bands wonder where all the years have gone!
Glisk, I have to say you make the most of what you have, though. Those combat rags are such a vibrant blue, I might be a bit jealous!
Sincerely,
Leena

I'm afraid we're still stationed here on Noveria. Reaper forces keep pouring in, we've been taking heavy losses. I'm surprised this terminal is still working, actually. Come to think of it I think I'm the last of the original group here. We lost our Salarian on Day Four, that Turian died on Day Eleven while guarding a krogan who was carrying a cannister with...something in it ( I never really pay attention to the details, I just go and do my job.). We lost that Krogan Yesterday, actually. Pushed one of those brutes over a railing while a husk clung to him, and the three went tumbling earthbound.
I hope you were able to fix your 'fashion dilhemna' however, could sure get my armor cleaned and re-painted. It used to be the standard color: Metallic Blue with white stripes on the front, and a dark under armor...right now it's just sorta scratched, burned, and...well, whatever color those things bleed.
There's only three of us left here right now; Myself, an asari, and I think a Batarian (never thought I'd be working with one of them but- He's not that bad after all.). I'm just glad it's quiet for the time being. I hope I'll get shore leave soon, but until then I'm glad I have some sort of connection to the outside world.
With Regards,
Roland.
