Clothing is a structural weakness. Geth Consensus has determined that by wearing clothing, you are more worried about your looks than your performance on the battlefield. However, if you wish to appear pleasant, the Geth Consensus will have an answer for you in approximately 7.5 hours from now.

While I have seen how flashy some of our soldiers have shown themselves to be, I'm also inclined to say that they're more likely to be shot repeatedly, becoming an easy target. The color scheme my N7 team runs is black with a dark red highlight, enough that we can identify each other, but not so much that we stand out. While I do understand the need to look one's best even on the battlefield, I am concerned about the possible reduction in survivability.

Dear Lt. Shepard,
I go back and forth on this question, myself. I've had a lot of time to think about fashion recently, as I've been resting in the infirmary and then doing some rehab around the N7HQ due to an Atlas rocket hitting me in the back as I ran for the shuttle on Menae. Fortunately, said rocket pushed me the final half a meter I needed to travel in the last second in order to not be awkwardly abandoned by the shuttle pilot and the rest of the team, but I did sustain some moderate injuries that took me out of the fight. The firing chamber of my Disciple was also melted by the rocket's incendiary effect, but I hear that many other operatives are eager to give me theirs. Not sure why.
In any case, I have several costumes to suit varying mission requirements, from those that require high-visibility attire to those in which fading from enemy view is imperative. I'll share some of them with you below. The common thread, hopefully, is that they would be acceptable street wear in the more fashionable quarters on Thessia.
With as much warmth as an Atlas rocket,
Leena
P.S. You'll undoubtedly note that the first costume is quite close to your description of your squad's own attire.
First, the outfit I call, "Black Widow":

This one I've named "Starry Night":

This particular item ("Fecundity") will be all the rage on Thessia next spring, I predict:

The Atlas mechs are as ruthless as ever, I see. Glad to hear that one of our own wasn't permanently taken out of the fight. Good luck with rehab.
Out of curiosity, I shared the contents of our last communication with the rest of my squad. I figured you might be slightly entertained with the response. There seemed to be the general consensus that the team was flattered by the "oh-so-fashionable-Leena" wearing anything remotely similar to our standard wear. Apparently, you have more of a following than I originally perceived. They were gushing about you, to put it lightly. One of them, my sniper, seemed particularly taken with the images, even requesting a copy for..."personal use"...I politely told him "No", and we moved on. Although, one of my newer recruits did accuse you of, and I believe I'm quoting this properly, "jacking our swag" with your "Black Widow" outfit. I'm inclined to think he over-indulges in early 21st Century Earth media. In any matter, thank you for sharing.
With Great Thanks,
Lt. Shepard
