What would your reaction be?

Forget about posting responses like "It's never gonna happen."  The point of this thread is not to argue the IT but to get an idea of what the community's reaction would be.  Yes, I could make another poll, but I want to see actual reactions in words.    Imagine you live in a world in which the IT is proven to be true in the Extended Cut,  What would your reaction be?

My first reaction would be the realization that Bioware terminated Mass Effect 3 without an ending.

I would admire their guts and their willingness to realize the problem.
Of course, that depends on how the actual ending after IT plays out.

But...then again, I'll probably admire their guts regardless; for a horrible ending to stay it takes guts too.

I would think that Bioware is absolutely brilliant. And also treacherous because they never gave the trilogy an ending despite multiple promises.

That's my position either way.

If IT is confirmed by the extended cut, it won't surprise me, since I'm one of those who feels that all the things that are currently in the game that point to it are not there by accident. But I recognize this is not a universal opinion.

I still feel that the current ending sequence, as it is, would have been no problem at all if:
A) it was intended as part of an IT-based storyline, and
B) instead of ending the game, it was followed by a half-hour or so of proper, "real"-world conclusion material.

The ending would still suck because IT has Shepard waking up and hitting the "LULZ I WIN" button.

So if true I would just give or throw my copy of ME3 away.

Frankly I'd be shocked if the IT proves to be untrue.  I'll probably attempt to rationalize why they didn't go with that option for a long while and then just move on.

First, I would probably have tears of joy, the same way I had when I first got Skyrim (5 ****ING years man!) Then I would hope they implemented everything correctly. Show where it all ties up etc etc...

The worst thing is when a game adds a twist but doesn't tie up anything. I don't want a link to pop up showing me the IT thread.

Then I'd come here and sigh at all the "BIOWARE IS A FANSERVICE, KEEP THE ORIGINAL ENDING" threads.

"Oh? You're REALLY gunna pull 'it was all a dream'?" *cancel download*

The endings aren't great, but I still plan on waiting before tacking the extended cut on. If it's worse, it's not getting into my game.

I'd be rather annoyed they spent time creating a 'fake' ending when they could've just made the 'real' ending instead and shipped the game complete.

Followed by the disappointment of realising they ended this trilogy with a glorified 'and it was all a dream'.

Confusion would follow - confusion as to why no-one at Bioware mentioned, or even hinted, at the existance of a 'real' ending.

Yes, but would you feel cheated to the point of never wanting to buy Bioware products again?  I do agree with your statement.  However, it may have been because the game was rushed by EA.

Well, for me that would be new day in gaming industry. First day, when community managed to win psychological warfare with developers.

If it provides us with multiple different epilogues showing how we won, lost the war, showing my Shepard with his LI and the peace between several of the races (Geth+Quarian, Krogan+Salarian, etc) then I would celebrate and cherish BioWare. As well as feel as if I had truly completed an amazing series. Then I would imagine Mass Effect would go down as this generation's star wars.

This wasn't pyschological warfare.

It was a fanbase complaining constantly (justifiable complaining, but complaining nonetheless) until they got their way.
