OK...who the hell is Atheyta?

You got to be kidding me!

Aethyta is Liara's father.

Never caught it and never paid attention otherwise.

*shocked*

Never paid attention? Her comments are some of the funniest in the game!

WHERE was she in ME3?  I remember an asari bartender with an attitude in ME2 but that's it.

When you can go to the Presidium commons talk to Liara, then go to Barla Von he is to the left as soon as you get out the elevator, do his quest, get the reward, then go back down to where Liara was, you'll see Aethyta at the bar, you can get Liara to talk to her, she has hilarious lines, alos talks about Benezia.

I played through one and a half times. After the ending of Run 1 I reloaded at the Beam and checked out all the endings. Then I got to Rannoch on my second run and saw the outcome of some of my choices (or lack thereof) and stopped. I've played through ME1 at least a dozen times, ME2 at least 10 times, but the third entry just felt overly homogenized.

"Well, I'm not human, am I? Anthropentric bag of dicks." Atheyta is so freaking amazing, her lines are what make her.

That line "Anthropentric bag of dicks* Always makes me burst out laughing.

Goddes she is the best father ever!

Ah...I guess I'll youtube it.  Don't want to have to reinstall the game just to get that.

Played on my brother's 360. If with the extended cut the ending starts making a minimum of sense then I'll buy it for my PC and will play it a second time :3

Highly unlikely it can satisfy me after that ending...

I just can't believe BioWare are proud of it..

ME 1- Played multiple times (over 10) got every achievement except a playthrough on insanity, bought all the DLC and discovered something new in the story and plot every time I played.

ME 2-Played through probably 5 or six times all with carry overs from ME1 was still working on some up to the release of ME 3. Bought all the DLC loved all of it still not as good as ME1 in my opinion but not too far behind.

ME 3-Played 1.9 times. Once all the way through with my bugged imported character that looked nothing like my shepard. Destroyed the Reapers saw that nothing made sense reloaded twice to get the other endings and saw it still made not a lick of sense. Got the import patch didn't work, waited a few days decided maybe I'll see if I can truely get enough EMS to get the breath scene...nope...and magically the import face worked fine and I got MY shepard back. Played through all the bugs and horrible lazy development mistakes that anyone who play tested should have caught since i've seen these on BOTH playthroughs ( really Bioware just pure laziness unless someone said "hey there are all these bugs" and then they just got the answer "nah we'll fix them with patches :o focus on the multiplayer! multiplayer multiplayer MULTIPLAYER :o ) finished the illusive mans base now just waiting for the EC DLC to see if I should ever pick up any of the other games. There just really is no reason to play it again. People whine about the ending and say the rest of the game was diamond encrusted gold, but it really wasn't the whole game feels more like a Cerberus invasion rather than Reapers so many plot holes and two bit attempts at emotion (where the first two did an awesome job) and the sprinkling of previous games where they could have done so much more but didn't. This was the game that made Shepard cannon apparently I played my shepard wrong.

Seriously Bioware so much laziness in this game. When I killed the Reaper on Rannoch it literally told me "We are the order that brings order to the chaos" WTF! might as well have seen how many orders you could get in there.
" We are the order of Reapers that order the Order of Reapers to bring the ordering order to the out of order chaos that runs rampant in the universe so we must reorder it to better suit the order we desire from the chaos that is. *ring ring* uh hello? oh hi, um im in the middle of something can it wait Im trying to explain the order of things to the feeble minded human known as shepard...what? yes i know its beyond his comprehension...yes yes i was just telling him about the order we bring to their chaos before you called...damn it harbringer you never let me do my job you always have to look over my shoulder...i..no..i..im hanging up....what? no I didn't order the pizzas for the victory party on Earth I haven't had time...mhm..mhm..yes if they don't get the order there with in 30 mins its free...but you have to place the order first...okay okay...let me finish here and i'll order it sheesh. *click* Sorry where was I?...oh right we are the ying to your yang, the order to your chaos so therefore we bring order to chaos are you following me?"

YOU should write for Bioware.  This was way better than the glowy star toddler mumblings.

I did a complete playthrough once with my paragon. I tried to do another with my renegade and couldn't bring myself to do it. Since then it's been on the shelf. I think it's the only game I own where no friends have asked to borrow. Kinda sad.

You DO know they are talking about you behind your back?  About that sad, pathetic friend with the sad, pathetic game on the shelf.  How they worry about you.  I mean, look at your game shelf!

The REAL question is: How many wish they could UN-play ME3? Who wishes they could retcon their memory?

I haven't touched ME3 after my first playthrough.

But I will continue playing it sometime later, mostly because the multiplayer is fun.

Kind of a silly question. The vast majority of players only play a game through once. The little sliver of the player base that the forum visitors represent is rather atypical.

Not really. The ending was atrocious and the game had it's flaws, but one playthrough was kinda fun. It's only that I usually play games like that a million times and I never managed to do that with ME3. The seen once, seen them all feeling kicked in with a vengeance. It's just to darn linear with no roleplaying options.

Well, I'm also on the atypical crowd I guess. Played ME 1 and 2 multiple times as well with different characters. I've only played ME3 with my male soldier Shepard. I have two other characters on hold, waiting for the EC. If it fails to provide a satisfying ending, I won't even bother. It's very sad really, this series has been my favourite since the first game was released. But my Shepards deserve a better ending. If this is all we get, I'll just make up an imaginary fate for them. :(

Based upon what?  My father and sister do not do forums.  They have played ME1 and 2 many times, perhaps even more than I did.  They have both played ME3 maybe twice.  They are not "atypical" at all.  Besides that, what idiot would spend >$60 on a game that they will only play ONCE!  Hell, anyone who does that better NEVER EVER complain about theater ticket prices ever again.  Or ski tickets, or Disney tickets, or on and on.

I have only played the ME campaign once. I've already seen almost everything in the game, and I am disappointed.

you experienced everything you needed to experience with mass effect back in '07.

tis a shame a game can so easily degrade from so much potential.

Played 1 and 2 many times. 3? Nope.

I guess it kind of killed the single-player for me. I was left with a feeling of "that's it?"

I think much of the appeal to replay 1 and 2 was that our story wasn't finished yet. Now that it is, and in a terrible way, I can't bring myself to waste the time.

So basically, these are my reasons for not playing again:

The ending gave me PTSD.

The story is over.

The lack of conversation choices (just because there are numerically MORE lines doesn't mean we still have the choices we had in 1 and 2. ME3's conversations rely more on past choices than current input).

The whole experience just felt empty. ME1 and 2 were fulfilling and left my brain begging for more. 3 had more of an impact on my stomach.
