Can Infiltrators perform biotic explosions? No?
Tech Bursts by themselves? No?
Cryo Explosions by themselves? No? (Cept Maybe Human Infils tho....)
Fire Explosions by themselves? No?

I rest my case. Just because you got rofl-pwned by a certain class on the scoreboard doesn't mean it needs to be nerfed. Oh wait, yes it does.

Fact: Tactical cloak is broken:

No.  Opinion.  Get a dictionary.  Or use the scientific method (HA!)

Evidence 1: Reload glitch. You don't have to reload the weapon, you start a reload and cloak and it cancels the reload but your weapon is reloaded.

Remove it from ALL classes then.  I actually wouldn't mind.  Seems most people just hate Infiltrators because they can kill so fast.  If slowing down my killing rate will stop them from crying, fine.  But don't make me less effective against single enemies.

Evidence 2: No matter how heavy your weapons are, if you cloak, fire a power (e.g. proxy mine) then shoot at an enemy your cooldown speed is always three seconds.

As intended.  Which helps Infiltrators effectively use a Sniper or other heavy weapon.  Most other classes can't.  And an Infiltrator using other weapons is frankly a waste.

Evidence 3: Even though the sixth option of tactical cloak allows you to fire a power and remain cloaked the cloak damage bonus applies even if you fire a proxy mine and then a couple of shots. Instead of breaking your cloak and losing the cloak bonus. your proxy mine and the few rounds you put out get the damage buff.

Except you now have less time to get that damage bonus.  Fire off a power that kills Cloak with a B. Widow and you might only get the damage boost on one or two shots, instead of all three.  You can use a single-shot weapon but now you are at the mercy of Shield Gate.

Evidence 4: The Geth Infiltrator gets a 80% cloak damage donus for sniper rifles, a 25% hunter mode bonus and a 22.5 Netowrke Ai bonus, that means your weapon does  227.5% damage. That is a huge bonus. Even the salarian infiltrator maxes out at over 200%.

And the Geth Infiltrator is a WEAKLING when Hunter Mode is active.  Geth already have less Health.  Hunter Mode cuts their Shield in half.  They also can't recharge Shields like the Salarian since they don't have Energy Drain.

Evidence 5: In most normal settings, infiltrators top the leaderboard. This is due to the class being overpowered and broken. That is also why it is so heavily played.

No, it's because that player knows how to effectively use their class.  I've seen Infiltrators that suck (my Widow IV outperformed another Infiltrator's Widow IX).  I've also seen Vanguards that put my score to shame.

Please nerf the tactical cloak bioware. We need better balance in multiplayer and that would be the best way to start.

Rephrase: Please stop other players from excelling at their class because it hurts my ego.  I MUST be on the top of the leaderboard instead of just feeling good about myself because I did what I could to help my teammates do the best they can do.

This is NOT a glitch or an exploit. It is an intended mechanic and is meant to reward "higher level" gameplay.

Evidence 2: No matter how heavy your weapons are, if you cloak, fire a power (e.g. proxy mine) then shoot at an enemy your cooldown speed is always three seconds.

This is intended to allow Infiltrators to utilize cloak in order to get very high spike damages. This is the ace card for the infiltrator class. Removing this mechanic would just make tactical cloak too cumbersome to fully utilize. Oh yeah, I'd love to use a low-damage lightweight weapon with my cloak bonus. No. Spike damage to the extreme is the name of the game with the infiltrator class and the cooldowns are necessary. You trade off cloaking time for immediate damage or vice-versa.

That's the whole point of the Bonus Power Evolution. What's the problem here? It's called good power synergy.

The Geth Infiltrator is a glass cannon. Extreme damage at the cost of extreme vulnerability. I don't see how this trade-off is a bad thing.  A geth infiltrator that is able to run around doing high amounts of damage without dying is a good and/or smart player, this doesn't really show any sort of imbalance in the mechanics.

Evidence 5: In most normal settings, infiltrators top the leaderboard. This is due to the class being overpowered and broken. That is also why it is so heavily played.

Infiltrators top the leader board because the board tracks your total Damage done to the enemy. With their spike damage bonuses infiltrators naturally get more damage in than other classes. Even then, this all depends on individual playstyles and skillsets.

Pleae fix the reload exploit/glitch, please fix the cloak allowing users to get damage bonuses on a power and weapons and please remove the extra 40% sniping bonus in tree 6. The 40% damage buff in tree 4 should be moved to tree 6.  A 40% damage buff, the ability to cloak and revive teammates, hide from enemies and perform objectives is more than enough for that power.

Please nerf the tactical cloak bioware. We need better balance in multiplayer and that would be the best way to start.

I don't agree at all.

Were you saying the same thing when soldier was nerfed? You know by taking away everything that made him unique like storm speed bonuses, assault rifle exclusiveity, carrying all the weapons, highest DPS ( ME2 AR damage bonuses), etc?

First they came for the soldiers.....

Oh wait.

I lament how there are dozens of interesting and fresh threads each day that get overlooked because people would rather argue for the nth time the exact same issues as if anyone is going to change their opinions and as if it makes a difference to the metagame.

I still think the way to handle this is to:

Reduce sniper rifle damage from Tactical Cloak.
Allow head shots on boss enemies again.

All 3 need a small nerf

Reegar needs an Armor damage nerf

Kyrsae needs to become an AR

Infilly needs to get reduced cloak sniper damage or make it so only 1 shot gets the bonus rather than how ever many you can fit into a 1.5 sec period of time.

The infilly population is silly on gold there's at least 2 in every match. That should tell you something.

Agreed.

I'm laughing because it hasn't happened all this time, and it's never going to happen.

Bioware knows that reducing the game to a biotic pitching fest (which is what would result) would kill it.

Jeez... this is getting old. Infiltrator is great solo, which is the way it's suppose to be. Adepts and BE rule otherwise.

Some suspect GPS and cloak were stealth nerfed.

In any case this game has a disgusting bias in favor of biotics and snipers. I don't support nerfs but I wouldn't cry over one here either. I don't recall anyone up in arms when they nerfed soldiers (only recently did the class become good after several buffs and DLC like Harrier).

Atleast a Biotic pitching fest would include 3 classes and diverse weaponry  rather than the current cloak fest that is only 1 class choice and 1 weapon type choice.

Literally every random game i play on the 360 has atleast 2 infillies it's silly.

Good Adepts rule speed runs.

The common adepts die quite a bit on gold or have to be careful. Where as the infilly can avoid 90% of all danger with cloak

Not surprising. Some people like to aim guns in a shooting game, instead of having the game aim biotic powers for them.

I like to play a fair and balanced game for fun. I don't care about credits. Having every random lobby contain 2 OP infiltrators is detrimental to the overall experience of the game.

Good logic

When Bioware adds a class that has 1000000000 shields and does 100000000% weapon damage and kills everything as soon as the match starts there will be no reason to complain. CAUSE IT GETS MA CREDITZZZZ

The presumed point of going through the monotonous grind of MP (aside from increasing the Galactic Readiness incremental to single-player---over a long enough time line breaking SP altogether because through the constant ‘promotion’ of MP characters, your EMS can reach ‘max’ with no effort)  is to get XP and credits, to level up characters and purchase better weapons (in randomised crates <_<).

slight rephrase: . . . to level up charcters you already have and purchase crates hoping for other characters (to upgrade with the XP gained in multiplayer grinds) and upgraded weapons. Because it’s all random, however, you need a lot of credits to purchase crates, which are obtained in MP matches.

It’s a cyclical process of play match; get xp/credits/galactic readiness *sigh at the last one*; level up/buy crate/express disappointment at not getting what you wanted/needed/anything useful; rinse; repeat.

Back to the OP for just a second:

That is as petty a reason for saying a class needs to be nerfed as the assertion that one only cares about credits.

Its a co-op game. I can top the board easily as an infiltrator. Do you want me to liter this with 20 screenshots of me topping gold as an infiltrator? The fact is, as others say, infiltrators always top the leaderboard becase the class itself is overpowered.

And as others pointed out, you find 2 or more infiltrators in so many gold lobbies it is ridiculous. Goin into a room with multiple infiltrators is like going into FBWGG. You don't want either when searching for RRG games but infortunately, the class is OP and people that should realy be playing silver still are using it to play gold.

Note to OP.

Why don't we just get rid of the class all together? Obviously the class has committed some egregious offense to you or one of your family members. Your issues seem to encompass the class as a whole.

I've seen posts where you cry because others don't "kick" infiltrators when you throw out your self righteous X.

Last, save your breath. Bioware has already learned the hard way about listening and editing their games in accordance with the vocal minority. It doesn't work and all that happens is people walk.

If you get your wish, your next complaint will be about the game being "dead" because all the casual players are gone and the ones left don't want to play with you and your self righteous X.

Same on ps3 and 90% of them belong in silver games still. Just hacks using an overpowered clas but whn things get heavy they fold under the pressure because they shouldn't be in gold lobbies to begin with.

Some of us play for a reason beyond mere addiction and actually enjoy the game for a reason other than to grind for better gear so we can grind for more gear faster.

Oh look 80% of the online community play as an infiltrator online (in gold), i wonder why...............................................hmmmm.................................................................. :P this also correlates to the forums where 80% of the community try to defend such an unbalanced power. Look at the falcon and kishock and soon to be krysae, they were only OP in the hands of an infiltrator and yet BW decides to punish every class because of it. TC gives 130% extra damage on every sniper shot, which already makes it the best weapon class in the game. It negates any effect on weight, something no other class has, its spammable and to top it all they have some of the best move sets (Prox mine, hunter mode etc). It would be clear to any designer that it needs a nerf, or the rest of the classes (with the possible exception of adepts) be buffed, which would in turn cry for another extra difficulty level because for every gold-standard player the current levels would be one step too low in difficulty.

And with it, you're singlehandedly the most powerful class in the game. Leveling the playing field is hardly going to "gimp" you.

Is this a joke? Where are your stats published? Every match I'm in, I'm usually the only Infl and that's so we can to the 4 objective cap quickly and not waste a whole lot of time.  Otherwise, I play a solder, Sent, or Krogan Van.  I will also play an adept or engineer based on the team make-up.

Yeah, this whole forum sack-rides the infiltrator class. A lot of the guys I played with from here just weren't gold ready in the least either. I'd say I am at about 2 out of 10 players i met through here that actually should be playing gold with me and not playing silver.
