If I get inserted into an ongoing match with an Eastern Euro / Russian host, I always give it a go, and if the latency is too much, I'd apologise over the mic and leave.

I usually curse the daft matchmaking code for making the connection and assuming that it would be lag free.

Just about the only randoms I come across who actually talk are Russians. I can't understand a word but it's nice to hear someone's voice once in a while.

Let me be clear one of my teamates is an Aussie, the other is a Brit, they always argue, but in a good way. So it's fun for me.

What is blunt about my assumption? That Russians are same people as everyone else, and that ratio of awesome - average - awful in their gamer community is the same as everywhere else? That is common sense, statistics, not a blunt assumption.

My experience with Russians is the same as with any other gamers on PC. Some are great, others are douches. The majority fall in the middle.

Ping is an issue a lot. I just quit if its bad. I'm no help to them if I can't hit my target.

Will admit, its a little frustrating not understanding what they're saying.

the only thing I found annoying about some russian groups I played along is that if they have a mic they will keep speaking theyr native language nonstop regardless of the other non russian players who may have joined the game.
And this happened to me mostly with russians donno why

Hello, I'm russian and this is my favorite topic on the forum. (:
We are all different, just like you.
BTW we often use Skype to communicate with each other. Voice chat in game pretty inconvenient.

Meh, the only problem I've ever had with playing alongside Russians is that they didn't shut up for the entire match. They weren't very good players in the few times I've played alongside them knowing they're Russian - they had a newbie tendancy to run off, even with hacking objectives, and getting themselves killed. Can't see how it's any different for people from anywhere else though.

In a good way or bad? I'm just going to go ahead and assume good considering how awesome we generally are. I don't use my mic, but I'd happily badger any poms in the same game

And do you say something to let them know you don't understand them? When I'm playing with a friend I don't have a clue if you're not speaking Russian, you don't have a mic or you just don't like to talk. Speak something and we will have a nice chat about that Phantom behind you.

In fact there is a huge plus of Russian players. You most likely never meet some 12 years old kids. Because, well, you know, you should actually BUY a game to play MP. Not just grab it from a torrent like 70% do.

And, well, isn't it better to just leave if you don't like something? I'm leaving when I hear German 'cos I don't like the sound of it, but it's my problem. Just leaving, not starting treads on BSN about it.
