I appreciate that people enjoy saying they're sooo good at videogames and bronze is sooo boring and please please make it harder so we don't have easy/normal/hard but rather hard/nightmare/hell because that gives you l33t jarkor gamer cred or something... but damn, the little guy has paid money for this game too, you know.

You probably just had a couple of bad games.
Either that, or you just need to practice staying in cover and making the right decisions.

I know that helped me play Gold.

If bronze is too hard for your build, change the build.

bronze tends to have more newbs so you do tend to get swarmed. Geth on silver can get ridiculous in later waves because almost no troopers spawn anymore, especially if you aren't overload/ED heavy. Cerberus and Reapers are still manageable for some reason.
What he said, and since the new matcmaking system, you'll be probably playing with less experienced teammates, so more to kill (and revive) for you. Just see it as good practise for silver games ;-).
Silver certainly didn't become harder, in my opinion.
Maybe you don't have high level weapons yet ? Can't see your manifest, cause it's blocked

I can't count the times I had to do all the objective, complete a wave by myself etc. just because Mr. Yosemite Sam thought it was a good idea to go and said hello to the angry mob heading our way, or the Sniper fellows who are apparently glue to their spot and won't revive a player even if you pay him.
Anyhow, just play smart and safe, and you'll do just fine.

But like I said, could just be my imagination.
Geth and their suicidal tendencies are annoying as well.
Anyway, on topic: I jumped into a bronze game last night to try out melee on the new Cerberus classes for fun. At first I took it easy and used cover n such but then I quickly became bolder. And then stupid so ended up being rushed from two sides and went down. Point being that most people may do this on bronze. Starting out with thinking "Hey this is easy, they go down in one-two shots!", and thus biting off more they can chew and get swarmed.

Maybe it's all due to balance changes in general, but wasn't this difficulty level to be the not-so-hard one? I was used to things, then it became silver-lite.

And yes I pretty much play nothing but bronze from the start, until recently when the Matchmaker started dropping me into Silver and Gold. Grr. Not much changed about the difficulty; maybe it's that we need to take longer to kill the Atlas and Prime. Reaper certainly doesn't feel too different.

They haven't made bronze harder. In fact, they rarely ever make changes without notifying us in the multiplayer balance changes.

Can you show me where in the balance change thread it was stated that time before match starts (wave 1) would be longer and time between waves would be shorter because that's now the case and I don't see it listed.
My own experience with bronze is Cerberus has gotten more aggressive. I used to be able to camp in certain spots for the first few waves and pick off them off at my leisure. Now there are more troops and they swarm my position much faster.

Cerberus... can't really say. Feels same on Silver, but seems quicker to execute when down. Maybe the same for Bronze?

I did play a game yesterday when we had 9 banshee's on wave 4 reaper gold...never saw that many on wave four. Only one or two at a time but there were definitely 9 total.

Each wave also has what looks to be an increasing budget. So wave 1 would be small, whereas wave 10 is fairly major.
So conceivable that there are more husks, though supposedly there is a maximum per spawn... Max 3 at a time. Multiple spawn per wave is possible, if they have the budget for it.

Strength-wise, do remember some mobs have received buffs, and certain glitches (effectively weakpoints) patched.
Edit - I did a quick scan-through of the balance changes sticky, Bronze's units mostly have been given more Health/Shields.
