I don't know if you remember, but in the credits after you completed the human noble end where you marry him and end up as queen, there is a fragment implying that Alistair was "called" to the fortress and it left me thinking...

What is that suposed to mean? Where is this fortress and why did they (who?) call him?

I've been doing some research in google but i can't find info that satisfies me.

Any thoughts ?

It's in the Anderfels and is the main base of the Grey Wardens. As for "calling" Alistair I assumed they likely meant he gets summoned there by a letter or group from the fortress for some kind of Grey Warden business.

The fortress is supposed to be in the Anderfels if I'm not mistaken. That's like, the other side of the known world, not a small trip.

I did complete a playthrough as a female noble princess consort but I can't remember this part of the ending...

But why would they do something like that?

And who? Do you think they call him to assist as king or grey warden? If it's as Grey Warden it would make more sense the PC went there instead, since she/he has lead most of the time etc.

:-m

I'm adding a screenie so you can read the story.

I'm assuming they want him to assist as both, though more than likely only for plot reasons in the sequel.

I get the impression that they are calling on him to explain how EXACTLY the Blight was stopped without sacrificing a Grey Warden in the process, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, or this too.

Although I wondered why he couldn't just write to them about it, unless they just want to see him sweat answering. xD

Or they want to experience the glassy far-away stare he gives when you ask him a tough question.

Or maybe to talk about the promotion of Wardens... After Duncan dies, there´s a vacant position as "senior warden of Ferelden" so that calling has something to do with covering that position.

The Wardens are a somewhat brotherhood (a sort of Teutonic Order, truth be told) so it makes sense that the Big Commanding Guy in the Anderfels calls Alistair to ask you about whatever.

On the other hand, maybe there´s a conspiracy going arround the Wardens and they´re more than just the "we´re here to kill archemons and end Blights" organization we know...

That would make sense. I remember a dialogue with him, after he's been made king. He asks if they are going to tell the truth (about Morrigan's ritual).

But yeah, that opens up for more questions!

I really really hope there will be an expansion pack in the future, where they continue the story. But i can see how difficult that could be, there are many ends etc...

Well, he could still give all the credits of the sacrifice to Riordan... He still... ahem...

From my understanding seems like we´ll have 2 years of DlC´s after a full sequel; and those DLC´s will add content before the Landsmeet, so the developers will hopefuly have time to come up with a nice set of new origins that will link the possible ends of this geme to the sequel.

"So i slept with this apostate, sober, conceived an old god baby and that, my friends, is how we ended The Blight!"

Rofl, i'd pay to see that cut-scene.

There´s a million ways in which you could justify that such as:

-Oghren´s booze have nasty side effects.

-I couldn´t sleep and I needed some way to relax, so she took the chance and...

-Zev dumped some sort of Antivan psichoactive something in my dinner.

-The Fade was not well closed in Redcliff´s Castle and a Lust Demon possesed me.

-Jowan escaped and made me do it with Blood Magic!

Me, I'd just blame it on Avernus. He's like 200!
... after I had fully taken advantage of his research to suppress my own Calling, of course.

I just forgot the part of "probably the order wants the gallons and gallons of blood taken from the archdemon corpse to create future wardens..."

Hahahaha, hey.. that leads to another question. How are they going to rebuild the order if all the Blight has ended and there are no darkspawns any longer? Or there are still darkspawn in the Deep Roads ? Then what's the whole meaning? why are we here?!

No blood - No Joining?

I don't know there's never any mention on their supplies of archdemon blood, only recruits themselves.

Perhaps only a tiny drop is needed per Joining, and they have plenty in reserve. Which makes me wonder how they store and transport it. Is it magically frozen? Did Duncan just carry it around with him? Ah well.

We don´t know how numerous the wardens have been in the past. 400 years is a looooong time and who knows, just as The Angry One points out, we do not know how much blood is in reserve.

A drop is needed per joining, or at least that´s what I understood from Riordan.

For the Darkspawn... well; there´s pleeeeeeeeeenty of them. The Deep Roads cover all Thedas and all the epilogues state that there are still numerous darkspawn warbands going arround places like the Free Marches and Orlais after the Blight is over so for that part, no need to worry about making blood sausage grills after hunting them down.

Actually Angry One, the Circle of Magi are involved with the Joining Ritual and they magically preserve blood for the Chantry to use for tracking apostates. So there is precedent in the game for storing and preserving blood.

I thought exactly the same, but why wouldn't they call the player on as well? Do you get that as a male player?

Mages blood is also stored in Denerim, probably next to the archdemon blood. Before it got stolen that is.

The magi blood is probably stored in the chantry HQ and the archdemon blood in the GW HQ.

Heh, you're taking me too seriously
But you're right, of course.
