During Sony’s E3 2012 press conference, Quantic Dream CEO David Cage confirmed that the company’s next project will be the title Beyond: Two Souls, as was rumoured earlier today.

Beyond will tell the story of a life over 15 years, with a heavy focus on the afterlife. “Death is the biggest mystery of mankind. What happens next, no one knows,” Cage stated.

“Beyond will be unlike anything you have ever experienced before,” according to Cage. “If you make the right decisions, maybe you will discover what lies beyond.”

Cage also confirmed that the game’s protagonist, Jodie Holmes, will be played by Ellen Page.

Screencaps are enough for the moment. The animation team on this and Heavy Rain deserve awards for their work. It already looks promising.

Apparently they have hired a well known actor and actress to star in it. If the faces are modelled off them then the woman looks like Ellen Page, I do not like Ellen Page, she annoys me.

Edit: Nevermind it says Ellen Page on the very first screen. D'oh! :pinched:

Have you seen a lot of her independent work? She was brilliant in Hard Candy, The Tracey Fragments, and Super. They character does look like her, but it's mostly because of the hair I think. Either way, she's talented so I know her portrayal will be spot on.

This game is probably the most exciting thing at E3 so far. The game look so amazing and it got a promising future

Quantic Dream's stuff is always beautiful. And Ellen Page is also an awesome person and actress, so that's just like the icing on top of an already delicious cake. ^_^

Meh, people say the same thing about all of Quantic Dream's stuff. They said the same thing about Heavy Rain. It's not for everyone, a lot of anti-quicktimers despised it for being too much of an interactive movie and not enough of a game. Myself, I felt it was a beautiful experience. Movie, game, whatever you want to call it, I absolutely love it.

All kidding aside, it does look potentially like a decent animated film.

I wonder if they might be inclined to edit the cut scenes together and put it out on blu-ray or Netflix.

Doubt it. They didn't do that with Inigo Prophecy or Heavy Rain why bother with Beyond?
