I think there was a trailer just for Willem Dafoe.
Edit Yeah there was
Let's see... 230K views. Nice home video. Wait, some home videos have over several millions of views. Housewives promote themselves better than QD promote their games?... I Believe that B:TS advertisement budget was really small. I mean REALLY small.

So true. The game is what made me start reading them.
With The Walking Dead it was completely the other way around though; I became a fan of the comics only after playing the game.

The facts that Beyond: Two Souls (1) isn't well-known,True but that means nothing, there have been plenty of games based on famous franchises that failed utterly.(2) isn't based on something popular and famous,
-Star Trek
-Colonial Marines
-Survival instinct
There have also been plenty not based on existing franchises that have turned into major success.
-Halo
-GTA
-Assassin's Creed
-Last of UsWay too soon to tell, at best right now it seems to be a successful niche market. Which isn't bad mind you, but don't over emphasize how great it's success is.(3) didn't fail, and
(4) even became really profitable - is a sign of great success itself.
Like I said, TWD original character and new story was based on popular universe, which have lots of fans who were informed about the game.
Famous actors are good advertisement for movies, but for games they are not better advertisement than artists and programmers, who developed the game. Also, QD didn't advertise B:TS by famous actors much or good enough.
Games with poor advertisement budgets will never sell as much copies as GTA5. Even if they were based on something quite popular.
Halo, GTA, AC are titles with initially huge fan bases and very agressive advertisement. TLoU was promoted well, and came from very popular developer, who already made a title with huge fan base.
Yes, Time will tell how much successful B:TS eventually was.

With that number of views it can be qualified only as so-so home video, sorry.
- GTA5 official trailer. Almost 7 million views. This is what's called good advertisement.

Strange that it was mainly Ellen Page and Defoe who were feature in adverts and no the artists and programmers. That second sentence is an outright lie.Famous actors are good advertisement for movies, but for games they are not better advertisement than artists and programmers, who developed the game. Also, QD didn't advertise B:TS by famous actors much or good enough.
I made no mention of GTA5, but wait now it's advertisment budget that generates success? I thought it was established universes, or aritists and programmers.Games with poor advertisement budgets will never sell as much copies as GTA5. Even if they were based on something quite popular.
And we're just going to ignore the fact that Quantic Dream already made an impression with heavy rain and that Beyond was very heaily advertised are we?Halo, GTA, AC are titles with initially huge fan bases and very agressive advertisement. TLoU was promoted well, and came from very popular developer, who already made a title with huge fan base.

And this video, which has more views than copies bought of BTS, advertises Ellen Page and William Defoe in the game at the end of the trailer. So, yes. They were a part of QD's main trailer and advertisement for this game.

IT IS ON PLAYSTATIONS OWN CHANNEL!! The vid has so few views because it is both short (2 mins) and gave very little new info on the game at the time. Look at the last of us or infamous second son vids on the channel if you don't belive me.

That warm story doesn't neutralize the initial fan bases the comics' have. Fan bases that were aware of the games. Unfortunately, Beyond didn't have such fan bases. And don't tell me about Heavy Rain. It's another almost unknown game from the almost unknown developer.

With live actors doing actual things in game and the player in control of what the main character chooses to do, it's the perfect epitome that probably is making david cage uber jelly.
