That warm story doesn't neutralize the initial fan bases the comics' have. Fan bases that were aware of the games. Unfortunately, Beyond didn't have such fan bases.
Yes, it did. Fans of Quantic Dream, Heavy Rain, and Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe.
And don't tell me about Heavy Rain. It's another almost unknown game from the almost unknown developer.
That's just delusional. Heavy Rain was massively popular, both commercially and critically.
Yes, tell me how many Quantic Dream, Heavy Rain, Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe fans were aware of the Beyond: Two Souls. According to the number of views of B:TS trailer - not very much.
Erm, which trailer are you talking about? Because a simple search on YouTube'll show you that there are lot of trailers and videos for it that have a million views or more, and that's just the official Playstation ones.
Heavy Rain wasn't massively popular, it was just profitable. Little more than 2 million of copies were sold over 3 years.
It's sitting at almost 3 million as a console exclusive interactive movie game. It won multiple awards for its story, including game of the years. It was very, very popular.
Beyond: Two Souls was already sold by more than 1 million of copies.
Thanks to Willem Dafoe, Ellen Page, and the fact that Heavy Rain was really popular.
I believe it will become more profitable than HR, but it will not become massively popular. Heavily story-driven game based on nothing, a pure newcomer from the unknown developer and without proper advertisement, can't be massively popular.
It wasn't based on nothing! Quantic Dream aren't unknown, they've been making these games for ten years across multiple console generations and made one of the best games of the year in 2010!
