Only 195,000 views, must not be true, can't be.

And? They didn't advertise it well via YouTube. There had to be other resourses where the game was advertised well, considering how many of copies were sold. The problem is that Beyond's advertisement was really bad everywhere, not just on YouTube.

The game was mainly advertised on TV, where they made sure to add the names AND show Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe

I like Beyond: Two Souls, and I don't like GTA series. I care about quality much more than about popularity. And please, don't ask me to explain why Beyond is better than GTA5 both artistically, and technologically. You can googgle that info easily, if you want to.

That so?  I'm not a big fan of GTA either, but I'd love to see how a Google search nets this proof.

Which video are we talking about here? Becausee discounting the Let's Plays and walkthroughs, there are lot of trailers and previews for it, with views anywhere from less than 100,000 on the Playstation channel, to a million and half.

Oh really? When? How long before the release? In what time? How many times? During which popular programs that millions of PS3 players always watch? What was the length and quality of the promotion video?

I don't think it looks too bad, either. I just think it's a fools notion to say that this game was poorly advertised and unknown.

And this is the video that I'm referring to.

i. Before it was released.
ii. Months back
iii. Don't know
iv. Youtube isn't popular then?  Gametrailers, IGN, etc.
v. Pretty high quality, regardless of the length (as if that matters).

Great, let's compare that to the number of views of GTA5 trailer?

Wow... 29,921,916 of views - repeats the number of copies sold almost exactly.

So we're in agreement that both are high quality games then?

BTS was pretty well publicised, I'm not sure where this myth about underrepresentation is coming from. It didn't have the marketing profile of say, GTA V or anything, but it had it's own TV advert and posters on the side of buses and the like.

Certainly a much higher profile than most games. Stop trying to excuse the mediocre sales. Sales don't always equal quality, but BTS was rightly denounced as a mediocre game, because beyond the presentation, that's what it is. Mediocre.

I never told GTA5 has low quality. I told that Beyond: Two Souls has better quality, than GTA5. But they are both AAA games. AAA games can't have low quality, but they can have different popularity that directly affects the number of copies sold.

Just because a game has more publicity doesn't mean that the lesser known game didn't get a good amount of publicity. QD got magazine covers, bus advertisements and spots on shows like E3. Quality, not quantity, remember?

Fair enough.  Technically though AAA can be of low quality, but you're right - they're more than likely going to have a broader audience.

Now we are talking about advertisement, not about gameplay. For advertisement quantity means as much as quality. Signs of a game advertisement do not tell you the full story about how well done it was. You have to know numbers. In case of YouTube and similar sourses these numbers are easy to track even for regular users. Other advertisement is much harder to track. So we can judge about how good that kind of advertisement was only by numbers of a game copies sold.

Still doesn't mean it's a lesser known game, that means not enough people were interested in the game

This assumption is unprovable. Like I said, signs of advertisement without exact numbers mean absolutely nothing.

The Lone Ranger had over $100 million in budgeting and it bombed. BTS made the most out of their budget and marketed their game in gaming's biggest magazine and at gaming's biggest events. I can't believe you are still insisting that they had no advertising after I've showed you a highly viewed video, reminded you that they are on GI's cover, was advertised at E3 two years in a row and had many TV adverts.

You are in denial, sir.
