Well we finally have an Ellen Page game with this. Something I'm sure we've all been waiting for.

There, all the convincing anyone needs about this game.

As a fan of Ellen Page, I concur, but Willem Dafoe is the icing on the cake.

I didn't even know about Dafoe being in the game until the Tribeca tailer. Weird...!

Both movie and video game is appropriate for Quantic Dream games since they are interactive movies video games after all. I can't wait to see the final product on sales. I skipped Heavy Rain because I didn't have enough money back then, but this one, I will probably pre-order it.

I wasn't really impressed by Heavy Rain, but Beyond: Two Souls looks very intriguing.

Yes, it will be interactive movie, but with much more freedoms for the player (according to the recent gameplay trailers). This gameplay looks more like cover-shooter and stealth action:  mixed with all those different "press the right key in time" features from Heavy Rain. Unlike Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls will not remind old-school quest games in terms of moving, switching between scenes, an camera management. And this is really good.

Well, and of course interactive dialogues are going to be exceptional.

This game is going to be awesome. And it will be released very soon :)

This game is amazing! Better than even The Last of Us.

Didn't finish the first playthrough yet, but already love it :)

BETTER than TLoU? Wow.. that's a big statement for me. Without spoilers, what makes you say so? I was holding out until a cheaper price point but now I'm intrigued again.

Seival's...  a little odd, I wouldn't put too much stock in whatever he says. I'd keep on holding out for a price drop if I were you (or if I was me, for that matter, as that's what I'm doing as well).

I loved The Last of us, but when playing it the constant sneaking and mooks got tiring when I just wanted more story. Beyond two souls is just story of the same quality. Characterization is a tad better in TLou though.

What a dick thing to say. Seival's opinion is just as valid as everyone elses.

Come on, you're better than that.

I'm about 80% through at teh moment. I don't think I've ever disagreed with mainstream reviewers more than I have with this game.

Already one of my favourites of this year.

I highly doubt I'd agree with this, since I prefer a game that actually has some gameplay in it - This statement will come off as being a bit hypocritical though, so I'm just gonna go ahead and say I can enjoy a game like Beyond or your regular adventure game just fine. But since we are comparing here -- Press X to Jason suffered from a terribly slow and dull intro where you proceeded to do bugger all.. until 30 minutes later where something actualyl happens. Once you've finished you don't really wanna go through it again because the mystery is spoiled for you now, and the murderer is always the same even though there were different people who could fit the profile of the killer. I love Ellen Page & Willem Dafoe, I just don't care for Cage all that much.

I've concluded that reviews are a useless judge of quality for this game. Because there is essentially no gameplay to judge so the entire game must be judged on the basis of its story. Stories are copletely subjective, you either like a story or you don't. That is why I think reviews are all over the place for this game. Some people like the story it is telling, some don't.

Very true. I think reviews for games like this should be approached very differently than usual.

Also why I don't think waiting for a price drop or watching it on YouTube is an entirely bad idea, despite it being one of my favourites of the year already. It's a lot of money to dish out for a story that you may or may not like.

There is no such thing as an objective review.

No, but there are onjective parts to reviews where gameplay is concerned. If gameplay doesn't work then it doesn't work, that isn't subjective.

I'd guess I'm about halfway through, and tbh I've found it a bit boring so far. Right now it seems like you the player has very little input on the story other than a few small things. Maybe its because there is only one protaganist, maybe it gets better later on, who knows.

Without spoilers.

This story is executed based on very interesting concept, amazing scenario and actor work, and with best quality possible in each and every aspect of the game.

Yes, it's an interactive movie. There are a lot of "press right button in right time" things of course, but they all look logical and interesting to use. Beyond: Two Souls also has elements of 3rd person shooter and stealth action. And there are scenes where you can drive a bike or pilot a submarine for example.

Great interactive story where your decisions matter. More than just a book, more than just a movie, and more than just a game. Perfectly executed, with minimum gameplay you need to feel that you are taking part in story events, and not just watching.

...I've just finished my first playthrough, by the way. And I applauded in the end. Literally.

Heh.

A common sentiment among people who have horrible taste in writing.
