Spoilers below.
So I took some time to think about the endings and have come to the Conclusion that the Alone ending is my favorite and in my opinion, most fitting ending.
In this order: Love Ryan----> dump Ryan----> get back together with Ryan-----> Unintentionally ****** off Nathan at the black sun, Nathan kills Ryan----> Choose Life---> Choose alone---> Blatant sequel tease.
I just fits.
Originally I had went with the Jay ending, however a distinct problem I see with both the Jay ending and the Ryan ending is that the sequel tease blatantly invalidates them. What is the point of choosing those two if Jodie just eventually ends up leaving them anyhow?
As for the Beyond ending, I don't like it. It feels forced too me and the main plot suddenly shifting and being placed upon Zoey is jarring, I get this same feeling with the homeless ending.
I just feel it makes the most sense for Jodie to experience profound loss and for this loss to motivate her to set off alone and dedicate her life to stopping entities with Aiden at her side. It is kind of depressing but it is fitting and keeps with the tone that the game sets.
Personally, I find Jay and Ryan endings, well, distant from the main plot, even selfish. And I just can't choose Beyond ending too...
...Zoey ending, however, is just perfect for me.

I've also been thinking about the endings quite a bit and i've tried to see each ending from so many different positions. All in all i more or less like them all and they all got reasons for why they are awesome which is impressive. Hard to find good endings sometimes in games and here we already have plenty of them.
I personally went with life with Ryan and it's the ending that i enjoy the most. Going from being a bit antagonistic against him and adopting Aiden's stance but over the course of the game i slowly turned into a more favourable stance and i just see Jodie and him like a great couple. Did consider going with the homeless and after seeing the tease it gained strength but i'm sticking with the life with Ryan ending.
The tease is obviously interesting and there's so much that can be made out of it. I'm reading it as soly a tease and while so much can be interpreted from it i'll for now not read too much into it. Might need a while to ponder on this and eventually perhaps change stance or stick with the current one.
I really hope Beyond: Two Souls will eventually become a trilogy with one persistent story.
This amazing story has such a great potential for the future sequels.

Urm, it looks like I agree with Seival on the ending of a video game. These are the end days...!

I believe many people agree that Beyond: Two Souls is the best example of storytelling right now. Amazing idea, amazing implementation. Everything in the game is an example of how that should be done. Scenario, actors' work, music, sound, graphics, even that minimal gameplay is very well done. The story creates amazing immersion level. It's like a huge magnet - once you approached it close enough, you just can't go away, keep thinking about the story again and again.
This story is more than a book, more than a movie, and more than any regular game. If you just watch it on YouTube, you miss half of immersion level it creates. User has to play it to really feel it.
Well, and the endings... I believe it's the most perfect example of how the endings should be made. Even considering quite high chances for sequels. I mean, the endings we have right now might not be the ending of the entire story... Like I said, I really hope for a trilogy with one persistent story

Sad to see so many people praise this QTE infested half assed game with good concepts that are ruined along with David Cage again failing at making a video game, might as well make visual novels, because this is what this game is. Though at least it's not as bad as Heavy Rain, so improvement here. Sad to see Page be part of this piece of garbage though.
I believe that so many people felt in love with Beyond: Two Souls story, and became Ellen Page fans (if they weren't already) because of they found the story really amazing.
...And it's sad that you don't like (or never tried to play?) games in interactive movie genre.

Don't a lot of choices amount to no meaningful consequences in this game? I thought Heavy Rain did that well.Mr.House wrote...

I think the problem is that when people pay video game prices, they expect to recieve an actual video game.Seival wrote...

On some level I'm going to agree with you here. At the end of the day did some of the people that harp on this game want some generic shooter mechanics or some other half-assed gameplay just so we can call it a videogame.

Whatever you say, friend, however if there is no competition, if there is no risk, and if there is no goal that must be acieved besides viewing it and without skill or luck, it isn't a game. A Chose Your Own Adventure is more of a board game then Beyond Two Souls is a video game. Not to say that I don't like it, I just think that most of the hate stems from this.spirosz wrote...

I can play Mass Effect without and skill or luck, I guess it's not a game? I can choose to have the dialogue chosen for me in ME3, I guess it's not a game?
I can shoot countless waves by pressing the right trigger in Call of Duty, what an achievement in gaming - mind blowing skill and complexity.
Their "hate" is noted, but it's no more valid to what we define as a "game" and the subject on that matter.

This could actually happen since all 3 quantic games are apparently part of the same universe.

Play being the keyword. Can you make noticeable progress in it though? I doubt that. Hand that game (series) to a non-gamer, without giving any direction, and it won't be long before they get stuck.spirosz wrote...
