Hello everyone,

In hopes of consolidating the smaller threads going around we have decided to create this thread. This thread is only for discussing the issue which blocks players entirely from multiplayer. If this occurs the error the player should see is:

"You have lost your connection to the Mass Effect 3 server. You must connect again to
access online features of the title."

We are working on resolving this issue and will update this thread accordingly. In the meantime we ask that you provide us with some information if you are still experiencing this issue:

#1. When did it start?
#2. What have you tried to fix it?
#3. Do you any DLC installed?
#4. When was the last time you tried to get into multiplayer?

Regards,

Thomas Abram

#1) Last friday, after downloading the latest update.
#2) Tried running Origin as administrator; tried starting ME3 as administrator, repeatedly attempted to "repair installation"
#3) Yes, all of it so far.
#4) Five minutes ago.

#3 All available DLC.
#4 Just now, still getting "You have lost your connection..."

This is for discussing being blocked for multiplayer 100% of the time, not connectivity.

This has worked for a good few people in the PC support version of this thread

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/344/index/12307333/21#12389858

I was blocked from Monday until I got an invite from a friend Saturday night  which cured the problem.  Once you hit the lobby you're cured.  The above fix was found the following day.  I have all the DLC I was able to play for a couple of days over the weekend but something broke after that looks like a corrupt save issue.

#1 After installing Rebellion. I successfully played with Rebellion installed for a while (don't recall exactly how long but I think it was over a day), until suddenly it didn't work anymore. I didn't do anything to the game or its settings immediately before the change.

#2 Tried checking for updates via Origin. I already run both Origin and ME3 as admin. I also tried the Save folder renaming thing sabreracer links to above; multiplayer remained blocked whether I started with a fresh Save folder or not. I have no friends on the network to test the invite fix with.

#3 All DLC installed; Resurgence, Rebellion and From Ashes if that's relevant.

#4 Within the past 5 minutes.

Edit: Playing on PC.

Edit 2: I tihnk we're on the same page about where the block is in the process, but just to make sure: I can "enter" multiplayer in the sense that I can go to character selection, mess around with equipping different weapons, etc, but I cannot join a match. Quick Match button -> settings selection screen -> "find games" button or whatever -> "Searching for games" popup -> hangs for about a minute -> "You have lost your connection" message. Every time. :(

I had problems all weekend long on ps3.  At one point I restarted my ps3 and router 3 times within an hour before being able to get connected to ME3 servers, just to be disconnected before the match started.  I have all the dlc installed. Last night was the last time I tried to get into a game and it took several attempts and many invites from friends before actually playing a game.  I have only lagged out of a match once since the dlc came out( very prevelant before rebellion), but now I just can't get in to play a game half of the time.

p.s. I have no problems playing any other MP games.  This is not my connection, it's your servers.

Hmm... I never seem to disconnect. Oh, it's not for connectivity.
Also, you misspelled "resolve".

#1. When did it start? For me, May 30th.
#2. What have you tried to fix it? I checked for an update, double checked settings, then found out that people on the forums were having similar issues and so I stopped doing anything.
#3. Do you [have] any DLC installed? Yup, all three of them (Ashes, Resurgence, Rebellion)
#4. When was the last time you tried to get into multiplayer? May 31st. I haven't seen much point in trying since there hasn't been a resolution announced by anyone to my satisfaction.

Honestly, I haven't even had a chance to try Rebellion and I'd really like to play. I don't think I should have to fiddle around with files or whatever to see what broke when this is probably a problem for more than just me and a few other folks on the forums.

#1. Since release
#2. Read forums and apparently nothing could be done, so nothing.
#3. All so far with alot of the extras such as single player indra and pre order dlcs.
#4. Just then.

Edit: Didn't read posts. I just consistently (Pretty much every time I play) Lose the connection to the server and get kicked. It's very random ie; Sometimes I can play one match or two or sometimes I click multiplayer and get kicked instantly.

Really, this needs to be fixed.

#1 Immediately after Patch 1.03/Rebellion DLC was downloaded. Only happens occasionally, usually at (what I perceive to be) peak server load (8-10pm Central Time) and usually when doing something that takes more server resources, like purchasing a pack.
#2 I tried restarting the game, resetting my internet connection, checking the game and DLC for updates, and a repair install of ME3. None have yet resolved this issue.
#3 I have Rebellion, Resurgence, From Ashes, the Collector's Edition materials, and Indra, Raider, & Argus. The game version is current.
#4 Yesterday I played some matches, it happened two or three times, again usually when buying a pack. This doesn't completely block me from MP, but it does force me to reconnect to the EA servers before I can play again. I get the exact same message on screen even though I can go into MP successfully immediately upon reconnecting to the server.

I just got this, tried to log back in and I'm back to starting out with all lvl 1's and no gear! I had just completed a match leveling a guy to 20 and was in the store purchasing a Spectre pack when I lost connection.

Edit - Must have been a glitch. All back to normal.

I have a question.  You said it is not about connectivity but I have gotten the same message during a match been droppecd and gotten back on later after exiting origin and restarting the game later.  It seems to happen occasionally. Are you interested in those times or only the ones with persistant inablity to connect?

Just offering an alternative tip that may help. I had this exact problem as well that started after Origin said it needed to update itself. After that update, the game still played except for that MP error. I had uninstalled Origin (left the game alone), reinstalled Origin from scratch (using the link from their site here: http://www.origin.com/download) and after that, never had the problem again. Got in on the first try and every one since. Hope this helps someone else out there too.

#1. When did it start? About 3 hours ago while playing a Gold match on Firebase whithe against cerberus (I was host)

#2. What have you tried to fix it? Since the game put me back on the main screen I selected muliplayer. Then I accept the invitation sent by the other playes in the team and I re-entered the match and I completed it

#3. Do you any DLC installed?Every DLC released so far: From ashes, Resurgence and Rebellion

#4. When was the last time you tried to get into multiplayer? As I mentioned above I re-entered the match and I was able to completed it. My DLC characters and credits were fine.

Do you think this event will prevent me from playing MP until it get fixed or it can be a sporadic event (thus it happened this time but it may not happen again)?

EDIT: I forgot to mention I'm on Xbox 360

2nd EDIT:

I didn't read this when I posted. However since I posted my experience I hope it can be useful.
Beside since I haven't tried to host a new match I don't know if this event was sporadic or will happen on more regualar basis, as I already mentioned.

This all started right after the DLC for Rebellion for me last Friday. I went through the whole 9 yards with reinstalling etc.  This fix worked though, the invite a friend fix works, although I did have it reoccur once more durring a match. I just got a friend to reinvite me into on to fix again...have not attempted to repatch/run repair since though as it may come back...

Doesn't occr 100% of the time, but it is severely affecting my ability to play, as it happens in the middle of games at least twice or thrice in an average two hour play session.

The details:
1) About two weeks ago
2) Nothing, aside from the usual restart system, which doesn't offer consistent results
3) Resurgence and Rebellion installed
4) Not really applicable to me, as I can connect; I just disconnect frequently.

#1. When did it start?

I have been having issues since I first got the game (just as Rebellion came out), but have gotten everything worked out, with the exception that it is impossible to join a multiplayer game lobby, as it freezes or hangs on a loading screen for long periods of time, then eventually tells me I've lost connection with EA's server.

#2. What have you tried to fix it?

Every fix mentioned previously. Repair installs, reinstalls (for both Origin and ME3), check for updates, bypassing routers, being invited to games, ensuring it is being run as administrator, deleting/renaming the 'Save' folder... If you've seen it, I've tried it.

"#3. Do you any DLC installed?"

Rebellion and Resurgence.

"#4. When was the last time you tried to get into multiplayer?"

Today. Numerous times. Same with the past week.

Why seclude it to just the issue of people not being able to conenct at all and not for all users that get it? .....

Because people not being able to join at all is potentially a totally different issue than connections dropping. There have been a range of connectivity issues for a range of people ever since the game came out - this completely unable to join any lobbies, ever, at all, issue, that is new with or shortly after Rebellion. So, different issues.
