I have 18 corpse galls, but no chanter will accept them, is this a known bug?

That's odd...the Redcliffe chanter took mine no problem

My corpse galls are still sitting in my inventory but I received the quest reward all right. *shrugs*

Isn't it the mage contact that wants those?

What's corpse gall used for?

If you turned in chanter quests with 9 corpse galls in your inventory, that quest ends right there. That's because the first reward is at 9 corpse galls, but you get extra if you have 18. Alas, the game doesn't let you choose to wait for 18 if you visit the board with 9 or more (but less than 18) corpse galls.

And there's a bug where the corpse galls aren't removed from inventory at turn-in. Same thing happens to a few other items as well.

They're a quest item for a chanter board quest, that's all.

Are the extra galls needed for anything or can I just sell them?

IIRC the Corpse Galls are a quest item and therefore cannot be sold to a merchant--the only way to get money for them is to turn in 9 or 18 to the Chantry.

As far as I know they fall under Plot items and cannot be removed. But from what I have been told they don't count towards inventory space. I currently have over 25 of them. But I don't think I have finished the mini-quest yet.

I ended up with over 18 and only got paid for 9. That really p'd me off seeing as in this playthrough I'm trying to get a lot of money fast to get a couple of items I desperately want.

Money scales with level. It's very hard to make a lot of money early as a result.

Your best chance of making lots early are the Deep Roads....

I would suggest Brecilian Forest with a backpack of 100-110 and very little in it. Collect everything to sell in the Dalish Camp. It doesn't generate a fortune but it does help.

Actually I just remembered how profitable picking pockets can be. If you get the skill and start picking the pocket of EVERYONE you come accross the money should start rolling in better

Yup - as a matter of fact, you need stealing for a certain quest

Also you get some special items by pickpocketing, like the last Thorn of the Dead Gods.

Wrong... I got a "stealing failed" in Denerim and the next time I was traveling within the city the city guards ambushed me, and that was an impossible fight. You're not meant to fail at stealing in Denerim. I've also heard that if you steal a lot (or maybe fail at stealing) in the Dalish elves camp that might trigger an encounter with some elves demanding their things back, I dunno...

Yep a dalish boss that is actually more powerful than the end quest boss for the forest and 4 or 5 archers, really annoying.
