For such a thing as this, they would use a dedicated test ship.
If for some reason they need the Normandy, then the Normandy would be refitted and repurposed to be a test ship.
It would have pilots, scientists and engineers on board. It would not have marines, archaeologists and Javik.

That ended me.

"Ok so we've recruited scientists and engineers to perform tests on the various systems, let's bring along Ragey McFoureyes for sh*ts and giggles"

Guys.

Guys.

Javik is CLEARLY there to tell everyone how much better test flights were in his cycle.

You're just too blind to see it.

Mass Relay test jumps keep Javik from killing himself.

"In my cycle, crashing the ship on it's first test run was punishable by death."

I'm surprised how far can a troll thread get.

The internet at its best.

Like he's there in Engineering, eating beef jerky and watching Columbo reruns.

How does this have 27 pages of replies to it without turning into an image thread?

Seival's not a troll.
He just has a very, very strange perception of things. He has posted some refreshingly creative things in the past.

Hmm, let us speculate, shall we?

Test-run or not, I want to know how exactly how they ended up on that jungle planet in the first place.

This thread has gone places, you won't even believe.
I took on the role of the madgod at one point and exclusively posted Sheogorath quotes.
There also was some licking involved at one point.

Hey guys I got a idea lets use the best ship we have in a test run even though the ship could be destoryed. Instead of a used old ship. And lets use are best team of people and pilot to do it instead of willing volunteers.

Yup perfect sense.

Only one of those statements is true.

I think this has been a pretty productive thread myself.

"Are you saying what I think you're saying?"

I'm glad somebody picked up on that.

Mr. S

The last part of that sentence, while plausible speculation, is also a little tongue in cheek.

The color of the beam following the Normandy changes depending on Shepard's choice.

It is not some test jump.

Agreed..

As for the normandy scene, I don't really care much for it. I guess it's a cliff hanger? To make peopel wait for ME4 where you hear about how peopel found the normandy and picked up the crew.

If you installed the thermal pipe that Adams wanted then the engineerign crew survived.. otherwise they died.. I guess.

I guess Joker gets really turned on by Mass Relay test jumps.
Or maybe it's the adrenaline rush from surviving a plane crash and getting stranded on an unknown world?

I believe OP had made some asinine argument about how the Mass Relays change color depending on the ending you chose.
It's only one of many, many baseless assumptions this theory has to make to make any sense.

Yes. Very much so. Ignorance is bliss and all that. In fact, I erased that entire night from my brain. All gone. Got rid of the headaches just fine.

"You remember to zip up your jump suit on the way out of the bathroom? That's good. I just jumped us halfway across the galaxy and hit a target the size of a pinhead. So that's incredible."

Intrepret that how you will.

Interesting theory but not correct after thinking for a while (biggest issue is crew- why teammates which were with me in final mission?).
