Developer: Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Reflections
Publisher: Ubisoft
Genre: Action, Adventure
Release Date: 2013
Platforms: PC, PS3, X360

Development of Watch Dogs is being led by Ubisoft Montreal, with a team comprised of industry veterans from blockbuster franchises like Assassin’s Creed®, Rainbow 6® and Far Cry™. Watch Dogs blends cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated game design into a realistic and living open world where players must use any means at their disposal to take down a corrupt system.

In Watch Dogs, players enter the dangerous world of Aiden Pearce, a new class of antihero whose ability to hack into any connected system could be his most powerful weapon. Whether it’s triggering a 30-car pileup by manipulating traffic-lights to trap an enemy during a downtown shootout or tapping into the city’s omnipresent security cameras to access anyone’s personal information, Pearce is capable of coercing and controlling almost every element of the world around him.

“Watch Dogs goes beyond the limits of today’s open-world games by giving players the ability to control an entire city,” said Jonathan Morin, creative director, Ubisoft. “In Watch Dogs, anything connected to the city’s Central Operating System becomes a weapon. By pushing the boundaries, we can provide players with action and access to information on a scale that’s never been seen in a video game before.”

There were a few gems that I only heard about just today, and this is easily in the top 3 of of all of E3.

So far this has been the highlight to the games presented. It's vague right now what it's about, but it was the first time I didn't see the demo start off with a crap ton of explosions and marines firing big guns everywhere. That's a big plus in my book.

Lot of potential for an excellent atmosphere and great game... what's going to make it or break it? The audio.... how repetitious it gets.

Definitely the highlight of E3 so far. 2013 is looking pretty sweet for games it would seem.

No doubt its impressive. Hopefully there's some variety in the mission structure other than shoot, kill, run away from cops.

Looks cool visually... Great concept too. I wonder if it will actually be fun to play though.

Looks fantastic. The face animation is really good. Don't really respect a guy who causes a giant pile-up and hurts or kills who knows how many to get to his target though. Not to mention stealing, etc. Premise doesn't sound very appealing.

First off- Fine first post. Quality. Props to PDesign.

Now then-

As I was first watching the gameplay hours ago, I realized this was something I needed to keep watch on(irony?).

I'm curious what else you can hack with your uber cell phone.
We see you can disrupt other phones.
Listen on other phone calls.
screw up traffic lights to cause a traffic jam.
And force bridges to rise and go down apperantly.
The possibilities are exciting.
Cause a power outage on a block to hide from persuers?
Maybe hack into the police dispatch and give them false info? (OH PLEASE GOD YES)
Force airplanes to crash?
Hell anyone your after or chasing you can be stopped simply hacking their car if it has that computer stuff most modern cars have.
This is a sandbox game that is not like any sandbox game just for that. Think of all the possibilities this might be a game that outdoes Hitman or Dishonored when it comes to options on how to tackle your objective.

I wasing expecting such a game at E3 and from Ubisoft O_o It seems like they are preparing for a future AC or a new Deus Ex too :)

So you looked at the video and couldn't tell that it was obviously PC footage?

There were certainly a lot of actors on the screen at once, which you typically don't see in a console game due to CPU limitations, but the posted video was 720p and the textures were low res, etc. I don't think they've announced yet what platforms will be available for this game.
