Interesting, definitely keeping my eyes on this one.

It really has some great graphics and I kinda hope that it will come out with next gen consoles now, because there's no way I'm buying an Ubisoft game on PC (unless they avoid their DRM nonsense).

Looks fantastic. The face animation is really good. Don't really respect a guy who causes a giant pile-up and hurts or kills who knows how many to get to his target though. Not to mention stealing, etc. Premise doesn't sound very appealing.

Must've missed the part where he opens a car door to get a guy out of the cross fire.
Doesn't make up for him causing all of it but it seems like this is the players choice.  If you want to be so compassionate about pixels I'll be genuinely surprised you like any games.

Yes, what's exciting is that this was sandbox gameplay for the most part.

You could choose to mess with the traffic lights and cause car accidents, or take some completely different approach to going after the art gallery owner. Also it was kind of cool that the villain was an art gallery owner (instead of some cliche evil terrorist or whatever)

In some ways, the narrative is authored by the player, more than would be the case with a linear, non sandbox game.

Are you really going to jump on his/her case for not wanting to kill two dozen innocents in a game? Are you really?

And, Filament, I read somewhere that he's painted as an anti-hero, so it makes some sense.

No actually I was agreeing with him.... we need to protect those innocent people because their not video game pixels their real life people hell did you miss the part where they explained it? every person you kill in Watch Dogs Ubisoft will kill someone in real life ;)
Oh don't act so shocked Rockstar been doing it since GTA 3

/rude reply

Seriously just reminding him its a game because it seems he needed that reminder.

The thing is though, we don't WANT it to be "just a game." That's why people throw around terms like "realism" and "immersion."

What you want the guilt that goes with people dying?
There's immersion and there's insane.
I never get immersed in a game I always know I"m playing one.
Nothing will ever change that for me because I'm always looking at it through my eyes and controlling with a controller.
Immersion is beyond me.
And realism should never replace fun... EVER.

There's no fun in killing legions of NPCs if there's no guilt or genuine suffering to go with it.

I'm not crazy

One might argue that realism IS fun. One might argue that killing anything that moves is not fun. The two aren't
mutually exclusive.

There's more to say on the matter, but it just isn't worth the trouble.

This game looks interesting. Hopefully Ubi can get past their ridiculous always-online PC requirements, if they haven't already, so I can get this game.

Edit: woah, Godwood, you've got like a real pic now, you got rid of that stock one. Nice.

It seems clear this game has some RPG elements, and you have the freedom to choose what kind of character you want to play, either the type of character who causes the deaths of innocent bystanders, or a different sort of character with strict principles.

In a more linear game you would be stuck playing the protagonist who does whatever happens in the cut scenes.

Well yeah I wasn't suggesting that you had to kill NPCs to enjoy games. Look at games like Dishonored they promise you can go through the entire game without killing anyone that sounds extremely appealing to me.
Just putting some perspective in there. Its not like I'm telling everyone they have to cause the traffic mishap and have the same shoot out.
I know I'll be looking for less violent ways to make my mark.

I too, at least since after GTA 3.

This game looks interesting. Need more info to decide about it.

Beautiful and amazing. Gonna pre-order it as soonest it's available to pre-order for PC.

Although it's not coming out for next gen consoles, confirmed by the dev itself. Is a downer...........

So you looked at the video and couldn't tell that it was obviously PC footage?

There were certainly a lot of actors on the screen at once, which you typically don't see in a console game due to CPU limitations, but the posted video was 720p and the textures were low res, etc. I don't think they've announced yet what platforms will be available for this game.

Crowd amount isn't what was giving it away for me. The reflective lighting of the street signs on the ground outside seemed to be of very high quality. Also the particle effects of the flames aren't possible on any console game I've ever seen. That's what really gives it away.

Wish it came out on next gen consoles, but if not, I'll get it for 360.

That is if it releases on that platform, which it better.

Lol at people upset about the car crashes. The guy is an anti-hero hacker. In a cyberpunk story a hacker is almost the same as a terrorist in a spy story. He's obviously being hunted for investigating CTOS, and doesn't have time to play by the rules. Also, collateral damage happens all the time. Ever driven a car in any GTA game?

Agreed. 360 needs as many good games as it can get to balance out its abysmal first-party support.
