Here's the trailer

So what you people think? Seems more Lost Planet than Dead Space.

Is Dead Space a trilogy?

The reason I'm asking is because looking back on DS2, even though I liked it despite the greater focus on action, it contributed nothing to the lore and story that we didn't already know. Kind of a waste in trilogy, if the series is one.

But yeah cover combat and rolls? Universal, more plentiful ammo? Campaign built around co-op? Bleh! Bleh I say!

It's not really a trilogy...that's just what they call these things when it gets to the 3rd chapter. Once Dead Space 4 comes out, then they'll forget all about it being a "trilogy"

Meh. It seems to be moving farther and farther from the survival horror genre and closer to a typical TPS. :/

Yeah, they ditched the claustrophobic atmospere the first game had and went with action. Well, it was obvious from Dead Space 2 that it'll evolve into this. Co-op can work in a survival horror setting, as long as it's done right. But truth to be told, Dead Space lost its charm since the second game :/

It looks terrible. I heard so much good stuff about Dead Space...even considered trying it out. Not going to now.

This is disheartening.  I prefer to play with myself.

Let me re-phrase that.  I prefer to play survivor horror games BY myself.

Why? Why does everything have to turn into Gears of War? There is already a Gears of War, and it's called Gears of War.

I hate the gaming industry.

Yep, EA turns another franchise to a load of crap.

I don't buy games after a third unless the next is extremely good. So I don't care really, this might be good.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Dead Space supposed to be scary?
I got none of that from this.
Oh well I hear Amnesia 2 will come out this year so the horror genre isn't totally lost.

I have to say...In the first two games me and a buddy would sit there and trade off on the controller..it took us hours to get anything done because of how slowly we took each level...we had to check every single corner and every shadow..
Looking at this trailer, I dont get that same feeling of dread..

Co-op is optional. Just like viewing the ending of Mass Effect 3 is optional and using guns in Splinter Cell Conviction is optional.

It's a design decision that effects the game. Yes, it's optional, but regardless of if you choose it or not, it effects the rest of the game.

Yeah it means the game was designed with co-op in mind and we all know how that worked with RE5 *rolls eyes*  Seriously I'm tired of "its optional"
ME3's multiplayer was optional but somehow affected my game (although that was trivial and really didn't matter anyway)
At best it will change level design to accomodate 2 players and make it less scary.
At worst you'll have a retarded AI buddy who forces Co-op on you anyway because their there anyway.

Perhaps. Still, the universal ammo and Lost Planet-like setting kinda suck. Hell, now it looks like a futuristic version of The Thing.

It's Dead Space AND it's a horror so i would buy it anyway.

It's disheartening that co-op is in that there is twice as much action as there was in DS2 which was constantly wave after wave of Necromorphs until you can proceed into the next area.

Anyway looking forward to the story and after watching The Thing, this is going to be great.

The image of Isaac in spae is so beautiful but also haunting. Isaac Clarke, making us Engineers proud all over the world, soldiers are not the only ones who can be badass.

It´s funny it looks like Lost Planet considering the little I´ve seen of LP3 looks like Dead Space.

I know this isn't the finished product but DS3 Ellie looks nothing like her voice actress Sonita, nor does she look like DS2 Ellie. Isaac looks like a boss but what the fruit loops did they do to Ellie.

If they can make spaceships, suits of armour with collapsing armour, regrow limbs from stem cells, stasis and teleknesis modules/attachments and plasma weaponry and mining equipment then i am sure a bionic eye can be done.

You do know we ourselves have created bionic eyes?

DS franchise starting to fall apart. No reason for co-op. Isaac should get seperated from Ellie and he has to find her, meanwhile uncovering more marker bs.

sounds like game industry 2012 to me. whoop dee doo.
