Heh, indeed. I haven't heard anything about them be able regrow limbs, tho. And I sorta agree with The Hierophant. She did look way better in Dead Space 2. Now she looks a tad similar to Lara Croft from the upcoming Tomb Raider.

What was up with all the childish and poorly voice acted, over the top profanity? Major turn off.

People have been clamoring and saying how sweet and awesome and scary Dead Space is. That I have to try it.

This looks like a typical lame tps and wasn't scary at all. Run of the mill, typical immature tps, it looked to me.

No way in hell I'm trying out the Dead Space IP now.

When comparing those pictures of Ellie I can't help but wonder what the hell they were doing.

Play the first one, that's the closest you will to get to horror in the Dead Space series, DS2 is not even scary at all.

Probably trying to make her look more sexy, Idk. What the f*ck was wrong with her previous appearance? Seriously, there was no need to change it.

I agree, i wish they kept her with one eye and a scar across the side of her head where the screw-driver got through and then ripped out Ellie's eye from there.

Would make her look tougher, loved her personality in DS2, was not some damsel in distress. Love a woman like that, bonus if they are ice cold on the exterior.

It's the same as with Ashley from Mass Effect. She looked fine in the first 2 games, but then was made to look like a barbie doll. Well, let's hope they will keep Ellie's personality instead of turning her into one of those "rescue me" type of characters.

Apparently female characters either get pushed into the 'sex doll' role or the 'damsel in distress role'....Could games nowadays for once NOT use any stereotypes? It's gtting so tiresome...Not saying all games are like that, though...

It looks terrible. I heard so much good stuff about Dead Space...even considered trying it out. Not going to now.

Dead Space 1 and 2 are great games, I love both.  The second one more because of certain things, but I won't spoil because they are story-related.  I say try them out.

Personally, I don't like the direction they're taking with this series, it's doesn't have the same vibe as the last two, but what can you do.

Once you get a gun, Dead Space loses all the horror vibes.

So I don't see any loss in DS3.

?  I only used the Plasma Cutter in Dead Space 1... but I guess that's not really a gun, haha.

Perhaps the developers are trying to imbue the female characters with feminine characteristics in order to compensate for their, essentially, masculine qualities. Thus, a gruff female soldier is made to look like a supermodel.

Not really. It's more of a mining tool. Still, the best weapon in the entire game when fully upgraded.

I loved it too. Still, since I always tend to conserve ammo I used the industrial-saw-thing more often, the contact beam was also useful against bosses. The flamethrower and force gun were probably the worst weapons.

EA is trying to change it from a horror game to an action game, simple.

The end twist will be that the entire series is a hallucination caused by inhaling toxic fumes. Isaac just can't stay away from those markers.

With no stereotypes? No, probably not. They exist for a reason. I think you'd be hard pressed to find any video game that doesn't have character(s) adhering to a stereotype of that era. Now, that said, not all stereotypes carry a negative connation. Its simply more common to hear them used in a negative way.

I still want to try out the first 2.  Whatever lameness came out of this trailer it shouldn't affect the first 2 games.  I imagine we can act like the 3rd doesn't even exist..... Like Mass Effect!

honestly the first 1 has the best horror elements imo. ds2 had some jumpy moments but i believe its really hard to build on continuing horror for a trilogy

there both great games in there own right

me personally i agree dead space 3 looks like lost planet but im still buying it to just finish the trilogy because i have no desire to buy the fps spinoff they have planned

In the real world people are growing back tissues and repairing spinal cords, so yeah in the future you can grow back an eye and viceral games caught on to that!

Dead Space has never been scary or anything like a SH game. Amnesia and it's sequel are the types of games horror fans will like.:?

I mean the first Dead Space game was a more or less a copy of RE4 and RE4 was an action game. So what I am saying is if you like the first two Dead Space games you are going to like Dead Space 3 because it's more of the same thing(well the same thing with better gameplay).
