So of course I figure this is more a matter of opinion than anything, but I want to know what you guys think. Is it better to wield a longsword/dagger rather than dagger/dagger? Since swords require strength to wield and Rogues don't focus so much on strength, I'm assuming the latter.

Discobird has a thread about his somewhere that you should read if you find it.
The short version is that dagger/dagger cunning (using lethality and tainted blade) is the highest dps build. If you find it a little short on attack/defense, toss a few more points into dex. I played mine with a bit more of a balance between dex and cunning, and it worked out really well.
