Hi im planning on my next playthrough having my character as Daul wield Rogue based around cunning to lock pick and take the persuasive route through conversations.
Whilst Ive looked at previous posts that point to the "build" Id rather see some advice on the actual building.
So whilst Im playing what skills/talents/specialisations and attribute point spread should I go for in what order.
Also pointers to locations with key equipment and general advice would be appreciated.
Please share your experiences.

Well, you can do well in the game regardless of the skills you take.

Just take what you want to have fun with.

I gave up researching and just had fun with my character and did just fine.

Go with Daggers, as with cunning, they make for the best dps. Olaf's Cheese Knife in Honnealth is a good early-game rogue weapon, as is the Edge if you have it installed.  The Helm of Honnealth and Harvest Festival Ring (or w/e its called) are also two good early game pickups. Rose's Thorn and Felon's Coat should be your first two big $$ purchases.

As far as stat building goes, you want 20 str after the Fade bonuses, so go to the Circle asap and plan your str accordingly. Grabbing the Key to the City in Orzammar early can help you get to 20 str if need be. Getting the dex for high-tier daggers is the next most important thing. After that, load up Cunning, with the occasional touch of dex if you are feeling your hit rate/defense are too low (my rogue ended with close to 60 dex and 70 cunn after gear, and it was a really nice balance I found).

Lockpicking IS really nice early, but DW rogues are always wanting more talent pts, so if you can pass on it (ie. use Leliana), then do so.  Late game you will have the cunning to pick almost any chest with no talents anyway. Get Momentum ASAP. After that, Lethality and Coup De Grace are the biggest priorities. Any points you can spare for DW masteries are nice too. Make sure to get Cone of Cold asap on your mage(s), as that spell really makes rogues shine.

Also, when using skills like Dirty Fighting, Mark of death, and Tainted Blade (from warden's keep), the casting animation is longer than the time it takes to actually apply the effect (especially with Tainted Blade, which is a big source of dmg for the cunning build). To maximize your time, cast the spell and as soon as you see the effect become active (ie. your character shows the tainted blade effect active or the Mark of death animation appears), pause and order your character to move the slightest bit, unpause and then pause again immediately, then tell your character to start attacking or w/e. This cances the "winding down" part of the animation and cuts down on the time they spend standing around after casting spells.
