I'm talking about the ones getting 100k scores while everyone else is around 40k. I hate playing with these players because you feel like you're just getting in the way when you try to help them.

As a person who routinely scores 100k with infiltrators and enigineers, allow me to say that help is always appreciated.  You're not getting in the way if you are killing stuff, and absorbing some of the fire.

As long as you don't try to solo the game everything is fine, shoot ahead, get your score.

What do I mean by "solo the game"? When soloing one will move when the enemy is starting to get too close. Most often as an inf it means cloak, switch side of the map.

Now doing that with a team means one is giving up the flank he was defending by doing so. And the next team mate in line gets backstabbed.

I dislike people that try to play the game this style. Most often they are infs. Half of the latter waves they have to solo the remaining enemies since they did not care about their team mates. They probably think they are carrying the team. But in fact they are responsible for the problems.

As I've played with both types of players (solo and coop-style) I know that a good player can score more than 100k and stay cooperative.

I made a thread about whether people cared about me stealing their kills and the response was(for the most part) unexpected.

OP, you should just try to come up with a way to improve and learn from these players.

Played a Reactor Gold game and three of us scored +100k. I wonder what the other guy thought... He still kicked ass though with ~70k. Never had a game go that well!

He probably thought... "Wow that went better than expected."

Took his credits and went about his merry way.

This is a pretty consistant thing that trolls and immature children try to do. It's called reversing the blame.

It goes like this.

> Say/do something stupid.
> People start explaining why what was said/done was stupid.
> The original person says something like, "Wow, you guys are dumb because you couldn't tell I was joking/not serious"
> Now the "stupid ball" is presumably in the other people's court and the immature child feels like they got away with being stupid

I dont know Talon, I felt the OP's tone was always fairly light. I read this as a joke thread, which makes the numerous responses from a certain person putting others down and blowing their own horn even funnier.

Anyway, my current favourite trick  when none of my friends are online, is to go into lobbies spamming backfire sabotage, and see how many points I can make vanish, and whether I get kicked for ending the game with only a handful of points.

Its a co-op game, if I wander off, its to attack the enemy's flank, and only if I think the other three have things buttoned down.

In terms of, say, FBWGG, I'll go outside of the room to the L barrier by the ammo crate outside and to the right of the building, but I won't run over to the scaffolding.

The only time I legitimately solo is when people decide that they don't need to do objectives.  If they are taking to long to get it done or reasonably move towards the goal, I will certainly go it alone.

I've quickly put distance between myself and teammates on the scoreboard, but who cares, it's all shared.

For those of you who would like a little acknowledgement for your top tier performances, please take a moment and search for the Ryncol Light Presents thread, it has a tribute just for you. :)

If you aren't playing on Gold, than those kids of people are used to playing on gold and just stop by for some easy/fun matches or to get quick creds.

Don't pay them too much attention, just laugh at the times that they DO get killed (though generally the times I score 100k are the matches that I don't die in). Honestly, the people most likely to get that high of a score are either running around and being those annoying gamers everyone hates (i.e. kill everything at spawn points before anyone else can get to them, or stealing kills with a heavy hitting weapon when the enemy is almost dead), OR they are the people with a Krysae/Reegar Carbine, OR are a Quarian Male that can spam arc grenade and take down a large group of enemies is in a second flat.

It's people like you that don't make the game fun. Arrogant, boasting, and insulting are not a combination to make friends with.

I have no problem with big scorers, couldn't care if they got 200k. As long as they do not;
1 Completely ignore the current mission.
2 Walk over a fallen squadmate and leave them.
3 Expect to be revived by another squadmate when they have fallen over at the other side of the map, whilst the squad is on a hack. Links with 1 above.

that sort of thing brings out the competitive side of me... and sometimes I deliberately walk into a group of enemies with the missile launcher...to boost my score, and hope to Amonkira that the blasted thing doesn't misfire.

It's one thing to outscore your team by a lot. It's quite another to be a jerk about it. Obviously, if you're scoring high, then you're playing well. I've got no problem with playing my game as best I can and finishing below someone who is on fire, especially since it's not like they'll get more credits/xp than me.

This.
Other than that, it is really fun to watch such people play and admire what one can do with pure skill.

Here's something for all of you scoreboard junkies...

Ryncol Light Presents

Real Beings of Genius

Today we salute you Mr. Scoreboard Guy.

[MR. SCOREBOARD GUY]

While most people are just playing a game, you are playing for greatness.

[GOTTA BE NUMBER ONE!]

Uh oh, looks like that Level 12 noob just got past you. Being number two just won't do.

[WAM BAM THANK YOU MA'AM]

Couple of missiles and suicide runs makes it all better. So what if you had to spend all your equipment to get back to one, you're the top gun on this board.

So crack open a keg of Ryncol Light you top tier point scrambler because what's the point of sharing points, if you're not the one sharing the most.

[THIS ONE'S ON ME FELLAS]

If the 100k guy is killing things faster than I can find them more power to him/her. That just means I get my credits and XP faster.

I consistently play with great players (the type that partake in the "speed run" Gold videos you see online) and it's a joy to play with them. They rack +100k simply by being very good and definitely not by kill stealing. They are team players, reviving and handling objectives as needed, all the while having fun on the mic. When playing Gold in particular, I welcome them with open arms: thanks to their skill, my equipment/consumables won't be wasted, I'll get the full credits and finish faster. So I fail to see the problem...

When playing with those types, I always break out my equipment and consumable too. I may not put up the numbers they do, but buffing out for max effectiveness is the least I can do.

You hate it when you're carried? I'm usually one of "those guys" that you described. I actually don't mind being better than most and not as good as some and enjoy working with and helping my team.

Some advice: Use equipment. They probably think that what you're doing is a form of leeching if you're putting up 40k and not invested in the slightest or just bleed out every time someone cannot revive you. I'll only play with people that "try".

EDIT:  Completion Time is usually my goal.  Not score.

Btw as one who usually outscores everyone

First, Im terrible sorry for killstealing but i barely can contain my bloodlust after i slaughtered 2/3 of a wave...

Usually i let my team kill their stuff in peace watch their backs and kill threats to them, if they have a group of enemys they kill i usually refrain from killing these as well and let them sharpen their skills

Only thing i can't stand are those with lowscores not taking equipment into gold or using their equipment... thats leeching...

And if their is one of my level in gold, i love it, i got proof i can still get better :D

What really bothers me is when I'm playing on silver with my lvl 1 (yes 1) whatever class and I end the game (full extraction) with 50,000 points MORE than the second place (lvl 12+ (hell, even 20s)).
Am I that good or some people just can't play this properly?
I can count, using the fingers on just one hand, the times I've seen thre good players (team players). And those times I'm usually in second (or third), just behind them.

Recently, I've joined a quickmatch with my Drell Vanguard lvl 10 on silver. GPM X and nothing else.
The host voted to kick me. I voted to kick the host. The other two voted to kick the host. Bye bye host. I ended up hosting the game. Another guy comes in. We start the game. Condor Base against Reapers. Random guy drops. And we still managed to make to wave 9 (or was it 10?). Best team I ever had the pleasure to work with. I was all over the place helping then and they helping me. Hell... I even charged a Ravager, killed it and revived one of them. That's to show my appreciation for his help throughout the match. Whoever you guys are, thank you for that awesome game.
