I usually do that on bronze with my human vanguard, and im always thinking; "i hope theyre not mad cuz im killing everything". Mostly got 90-110k points while the rest has like 15-30k or something around that. I just like swiftness thats all ;)

There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, worse than a novaguard dominating in bronze. Just ruins the fun for the rest of the players and also doesn't give noobs the chance to further their skills.

If you do it on gold, then that's another thing all together .

Ha, good observation.  I actually think that is annoying too.

At least on the higher difficulties the Vanguard can't instakill the whole map.  And on Gold it is nice to have a good Vanguard to distract the other enemies.  Having a bad Vanguard is frustrating though.

Hell if a novaguard's good enough to dominate on gold, that's the team's cue to roll with it and go pure offense. Somebody get that human an AJ or DA for area reave bluesplosions!

I've been first every single match since I started playing silver with novaguard (I host). Sometimes it's 5k distance and sometimes 40k. I revive people, often complete objectives, and normally try to help my team (unless they are killing everything in sight anyway). And I normally get downed about 5 times a match (often when trying to save someone).
Am I doing something wrong? Should I stop killing everything in sight because I am a Novaguard? Is being first now considered noobish? Are Novaguards considered noobish? I am puzzled, please clear this out.

Nah you sound alright.

Novaguards (mainly those with relatively high N7 ratings) that dominate on Bronze are what really grind my gears.

Why would this ever bother you?

classes like the infiltrators and human vanguards, I get, and expect others, to get 100k+ scores. That's their job, to kill stuff, they don't defensively help the team for the most part (Infiltrators revive, but trades off concentrating enemy fire on team mates, while the vanguard distracts, but is a high risk of dying). They kill before the defensive deficiencies become a problem, thus the high score.

A class like the SEngineer should be getting less points. Decoy as it's distraction and Energy drain/unbuff gun are their only forms of damage. Defensive spec'd justicars will get less points than offensive spec'd one, while the sentinels sponge damage and do reliable dps for a mid range score.

Honestly, I don't get how you can not like having a player getting the 100k scores like they're suppose to. If I'm playing a weaker class, or a more defensive class and I'm getting 100k scores wile the infiltrator is getting 40k, it's not just to how good I was playing, but also how bad everyone else was.

I generally always finish top, but if I don't and I'm a defensive class, I'm just glad I've got very capable teammates.

My apologies! But really, no matter your score there's a good chance that you're just as valuable. My score doesn't make me a seriously good player. It makes me a good player that is using a good weapon and build. It helps me be a killing machine that helps make gold easier for my teammates, while still being the first to revive and do objectives. But I'd likely die without your help so you're not only valuable for what you do but also because of what you help me do. In the end it's all about winning, an it generally takes the effort of all 4,regardless of score, to do that.

I tend to think they're getting in MY way.  Those are usually the guys charging around the map racking up kills, and somehow miraculously not getting mown down, and basically preventing me from getting to kill anything.  And, they're usually racking up kills to the detriment of the team by doing that.

To the detriment of the team? Care to explain?

Goal of the game: Kill everything.
What your teammate is doing: Killing everything.

It's not his fault. He shouldn't take a break simply to give you some points while he grabs a snack.

It`s every now and than simple fun to play a bronze or silvermatch, or sometimes I promote to not waste respeccards just because I want to try something stupid and I start on bronze with Lvl 1. I will not stop headshooting the bad guys so the regular bronze player don't feel uncomfortable,

The one thing I don't like about having the highest score and being way ahead of them, is the pressure to perform the same way next game.

Sometimes, I play with someone who is ridiculously good with the Revenant. I'm not ashamed to say that she can consistently outscore me by 100k.

Thus my nickname for her: Revenant Lady.

so "this is just a tribute"?

When someone is that good, I take the opportunity to experiment with things I normally can't with, due to the chaos that usually ensues. I may take the time to try and get those head shots or harass some enemy stragglers. Sometimes I just appreciate the graphics and notice the little things like the details on some crate or the curves on that female Quarian running across the battlefield.

I actually like it - means chance of success is great and I can slack off a bit - hey why not - I don't get too bothered about scores - as long as I'm helping the team well enough for success then that's all that's needed.

I would really like to know if a four inf team is that successful?

It works spectacularly if eveyone has mics and they coordinate inf. builds. For example, 2 shotgun infs and 2 sniper infs, with powers that overlap to cause tech bursts, staying together to corral the mobs for easy flanking. (It's even more important for mass infiltrators to stick together than it is for any other class--if the mobs get spread all over the map, you can cloak but won't have anywhere safe to move to.)

If it's not coordinated, though, then some of the class's weaknesses become suddenly very apparent, and it crashes & burns. Hopefully you're playing with decent enough people that the last one standing is able to solo the wave with hit & runs.

It's even better to coordinate to NOT stay together but take out different enemyclusters at their spawnpoints at once,

Isn't XP shared evenly at the end anyway?

But yeah, I don't like feeling like I'm not contributing.

Since I'm often one of "those guys", all I can say is this: knowing where the enemy will spawn is a big part of efficient kills (which leads to high scores, but this is irrelevant). With randoms, I will always look where they are at the start a wave and (go to or look at) the complete opposite of that on the map. Chances are I'm going to kill ~5 enemies at once. Rinse and repeat over 10 waves and it's not hard to see high scores. While I do often do this on Infiltrators, I've also done it on Drell Adept, Vorcha, Geth Engi and others. The tactics do not change, you just have to learn them.

If anyone wants to complain about it, all I have to say is "kill it before I do". The faster we complete the match, the faster I can get on to the next. The sniper who hangs in his camp tower will never see and kill every enemy. I do. Even sniping.

And my goal -is- for people to look at the score and -not- get upset about it. Learn from it. Nobody really does though. Only one that I can think of (and he eventually outscored me on Human Soldier, so props to him).
