I don't want to even think about an ME4 whilst ME3 remains in such a broken state.

Pretty sure it's gonna be James, considering he wakes up in a pile of rubble at the end of the destroy ending.

Unless the protagonist is Asari or Krogan, no one we met in the first 3 ME games.

None. Bioware isn't going to make a ME4 until they fix ME3. I will make sure of it.

Truth be told, as soon as I saw James discussing the N7 program.. I thought there is a very strong chance he'd be the next protagonist. He's also non-romanceable, which is something which works in favour of him being the next protagonist due to Bioware not needing to address previous romances for a future RPG game. I fully expected him to feature in a solo game, probably not an RPG but a more streamlined shooter or FPS.
However, due to the lack of interest in him, and also the hatred for the character due to what many percieve as a waste of a slot that could've been given to an ME2 character, I think they may backtrack.
I hope they backtrack, as he wasn't a terribly interesting character, and there are better ones they could go for next time.
