To be honest, I hope they give up on a Mass Effect 4 until the next generation of consoles. I would much rather they devoted time and resources to making Mass Effect 3 the best it can be through patches and DLC than see a fourth game.

Who knows, if they did that, they may create a situation which allows us to continue Shepard's adventures.

I'm normally a person who despises the very notion of retconning anything (I started creating my own fantasy setting after Blizzard retconned my favourite character and ruined everything about her), but even I have to agree that a retcon could save the day.

How about no more Mass Effect? I was thinking about this from March, what's the point of continuing the franchise, when the ME3 endings were not so well received by us, it's sure that next ME game sales would not even reach ME1 ones, because fans would not pay for it.

I won't be buy the next ME game, because for me Mass Effect ended with Commander Shepard.

Truth be told, if they left it a few years then I expect the sales would increase. As time goes by, our brains tend to phase out pain we have suffered by focusing more on remembering the pleasant parts. In 3 years, we'll be remembering Mass Effect 3 in a better light than we do now, sure the ending will always be an issue, but I reckon most will forgive it.

Humans are fickle things, we can't help but return to what is familiar and comfortable to us. It's why Sequels are so frequent now.

So the plot will be the galaxy rushing to find a way to undo Synthesis because it stagnates evolution so it must be undone before every race goes extinct?
