We've certainly hear enough about the war on Earth and we only see a glimpse of Earth. We can meet both Kaiden's parents and Ash's mother, sisters, and brother-in-law and this could be done regardless of which one survived the first game, maybe see things only briefly mentioned in the codex like those genetically altered animals and you could have members of the various alien races on Earth for any number reasons (ambassadors, business people, spouses, etc) and show different sides of them as well.

I hear this sort of thing a lot.
This is a great Idea, However... I can give you two reasons why this won't happen.
1. A problem I see with this is that I am (And I'm sure many, many others) too used to having a voiced protagonist (Especially in ME, it's like a tradition now)
2. To have a voice for each race and gender of those races would really eat Bioware's/EA's wallets so I don't see them doing that for one minute.
So I propose an alternative which I think some of you may like, while others will hate:
I believe that any attempt by Bioware to give us another human protagonist would result in us (The players) constantly comparing the new guy/girl to our Shepards. And lets face it, no "new guy/girl" is ever going to have the same bond I had (And the majority of you had) with Shep. I could continue with some more reasons not to have a new human, but I'd like to move on.
(In short: No more humans)
I'm being empathetic to Bioware and EA as much as possible and they want to create a great game without spending more than they're earning. VA's cost a lot of money and so I think that two or three races (At the most) is best for them and (I imagine) us.
As to the races, I nominate:
1. Asari definitely should be one of the playable races, because they're mono-gendered only one voice would be needed (Bioware and EA approve). Not only that they've always been a huge part of the ME universe, I'm sure that they would be a popular choice too.
2. Krogans are an interesting one to nominate, you'd expect I'd say Krogans just because they're big and tough. But there is a lot more to them, there political views, there views of other races and there jaded past. Not only that, they're big and tough
3. I'm not sure, but I'd vouch for Turians, Quarians or Salarians since all three are very relevant and powerful to the overall themes and such of ME.
Thoughts about this?

I liked whoever said having a playable reaper. That sounds fun but completely off base with the series.
Honestly, I'm not sure where they can go from where they are now.

Could James be the one? Or could it be the child in the ending part where he will be chosen as the new playable character for the new Mass Effect? It is up to the hands of the developers.
Sure have James, a developed character as the lead in an RPG. And oh, the child? Why not troll us more with a character that was introduced in the last five minutes and effectivley destroyed the ME series.
Why not have Jar-Jar Binks while we're at it? Hell, with these suggestions, we'd probably have it as a main character

Stargazer for ME4 Hero. He could recruit people by giving them sweets.
Are we to assume that all the recruits will be adolescent males? "Hey little boy, want some candy? Reach into my pocket here and grab a handful!"

Jar Jar Binks.
Good as any other since there can be no ME4.
Can or can't.
There WILL be another Mass Effect game.
Count on it.
I won't be playing it, but BW's been pretty damn clear on just how many F's they give about me and my business.

It be cool to play an Asari or another female Alien. I think that in Future Mass Effects there will be new species and discoveries. I too don't mind playing Mass Effect games before the original trilogy. I wonder what future Mass Effect stories could be like I prefer mainly after Mass Effect 3, the known trilogy.

Tell individual stories similar to Dragon Age: Origins of a human, asari, quarian, salarian, etc. etc. of different classes and where they go post-war, perhaps even a few dozen years afterwards (with some finite exposition telling us how things kept going afterwards). Same game mechanics, offline.
I'd be a happy camper.

It'll be an MMO, so it'll be whoever you want it to be. Pay to play is the way they're going, it sounds like mo' money for BioWare. And we all know that's the bottom line of any company. If it was about making landmark games, well, we'd have landmark games, now wouldn't we? Hint: We don't.
I'm pretty sure this will be the case as well. EA I believe is rather intent on transitioning Bioware to become a full MMO Studio as they likely believe this is the only viable market for RPGs. You know like the dreaded inventory. To which I'm going to be honest... if you don't like inventories you have no business playing RPGs as having items to interact with is vital to providing roleplaying scenarios. Granted inventory in games certainly has lots of room for improvement. And it would be nice if someone actual created a virtual backpack with realistic space rather then an invisible storage truck that follows the player.
Anyways Bioware is really not suited to making action heavy games. So far ME3 is their best attempt. And in that respect they did fairly good... but I just don't think they have the knack to really do that sort of thing. Besides heavy action sequences tend to be detrimental towards creating stories which generally benefit more babbling and less big explosions.
Though one problem with MMOs is they are the worst genre to try and have a story told as such games are entirely cooperative or competitive in nature. Really it's hard to tell a story in an environment where everyone just wants to kill the boss or kill each other for interwebz glory. But... MMOs are also the best environments to actually go about proper roleplaying. Unfortunately MMOs have not been very good at encouraging this hence why MMOs are generally no longer even called MMORPGs... because they aren't. Bioware's attempt to interject actual storylines is interesting from what little I've seen of TOR. But I think they are barking up the wrong tree in certain respects. Less hand holding and more incentives/tools to create actual characters is what would be best.

I'll admit, I was out of order with that reply. Let me try again in a more dignified manner. :innocent:
Although a lot of people claim on BSN that they will no longer purchase a future ME game (or Bioware game for that matter), many are simply saying so and the majority of those people will continue to purchse Bioware games. Also I'd like to point out that even if you're approximation was close (However,I think not. I'm just hypothesising) to being correct, that it would only apply to BSN users and BSN only makes up for a small minority of Bioware's sales.
My approximation would be that the ME4 boycotters will only lose Bioware 2 - 8% of their overall sales.

Op you know that too most people Play Male and Female. Most of BioWare and EA RPG games always allowed you to play the other gender. I honestly play female in RPGs or games that allow you to play the other. I would love to play any Species of any gender like I said before.

No, not asari...can't choose male or female. Only female. That would be as "bad" as choosing a clearly male character (Jersey Shore dude).

2.) Based on this, as well as canonizing certain events, it is reasonable to assume no ME3 characters will still be alive for the next entry. The only possibility is Liara, and if they sneak her in there, I am going to be pissed. Lol.
Don't krogan potentially live for centuries? If so, Grunt could still be alive. (I'm not sure how old Wrex is supposed to be.) I also imagine EDI could still be around.

A thin shell of a 100% linear single player game and most resources put into multi player where they can earn money on 'the new ME gimmick: TCG packs. Errr.. I mean booster packs...'
So lead character will be a random no-namer that is part of some military squad.
I honestly don't expect anything with good storytelling from Bioware anymore as they have made the transition into a generic action game conveyer company now.
